‘Is there a film whose music you found difficult to compose?
Alexandre: Yes, all of them. All of them. It's horrible. Every film is torture. Because, you know, it's a very different profession from concert music because you have a deadline that's usually very short. It can be a fortnight for The Queen, or two months for Harry Potter. But Harry Potter has an hour and a half, or even two hours of music, I think even two hours and twenty minutes. So it's a constant challenge, whether it's finding the concept or building a bridge with a director you don't know, with whom you've never worked before and who has to be reassured because music becomes a terrain, an uncharted territory that stresses him. I know I'm already worried about the next project.’
