In the 70s this was what I did for fun, hike to Leigh Lake, one of many places I hiked into and enjoyed the beauty of the mountains, I even climbed almost to the top of Snowshoe Peak...I miss those days...Thank you for the memories :)
Where is snowshoe peak?
Drones are not allowed in wilderness areas. Were you able to get a permit for it?

I hiked to Leigh Lake today. Stunning beauty, but the funny thing is, it was deathly quiet.
I was kind of hoping to be greeted by an angelic chorus like you were. Really though, this video

As I recall from hiking into Leigh Lake, the quiet was one of the high-lights. In my youth back in the 70s I recall when back packing around Libby area, upon reaching destination I would stop and take it all in, most times all I could hear was the wind blowing thru the trees and the ravens calling. Calling it 'majestic' would be an understatement. This my friends was my playground. For the past years I've once again feel the calling to return, perhaps Summer 2020 will be the year! Thanks for the great video :) Post Script: In the 70s fishing in Leigh Lake produced only very hungry, skinny, small trout. I was told back the Forest Service stocks these mountain lakes, but there's not much for them to eat. Hence the small size.

They were both incredible and incredibly illegal. Wilderness areas like the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness does not allow drones. These guys shoot great stuff but have a total disregard for Wilderness regulations.

Beautiful video. Watching these makes me want to backpack more often. How do you find these places? Is there a website (or other resource) you can suggest?

We find them by looking around on google maps mostly - looking for lakes in national forests or state lands, etc. then google photos of the lake and scenery and see I you like it. Then see if there are tails that lead there by googling a trail search. We have a nice video about this called : "introduction to backpacking - planning a trip" recently posted on the channel.
