  • Singapore is taking some of the maximum efforts in the world to reduce water demand and improve supply. Amidst a severe water crisis and the threat of climate change looming closer, here is what Singapore is doing to become water independent and tackle climate change following the same route.
Singapore uses about 430 million gallons of water every day, a number that could double in the next forty years. Singapore has a population of more than five million people. The country is adorned with fountains, reservoirs, and beautiful water features. Even the world’s tallest indoor waterfall is in Singapore - 130-foot Rain Vortex pumping 10,000 gallons of water per minute. And yet, Singapore has no natural water sources of its own, and is heavily dependent on recycled water and water imported from its neighbors.

Self reliant? Lol. Tell that to the foreigners who make up the most significant portion of SG economy and labour force.

Singapore have rain through the year, but most of the rain go into the sea. One way of collecting these water is to join all our sounthern islands to form a big lake. We can pump the extra water from the mainland to this big lake. We can also rear fishes in this lake.

We have seventeen resevoirs in Singapore. If we deepen one reservoir by three meter every year, then we will have thirty four reservoirs after seventeen years.

We can solve this problem through use of water hyacinth for treating wastewater and then converting it to energy ( gas, biodiesel, bioethanol)
Recharging :100% available water through rains (60% of rainfall).
Implemented a pilot to recharge 2 BCM which will be scaling upto 5 BCM in India

    "寄人于篱下"始终是要看主人颜脸,邻国的确给咱的压力不小与问题,但是也谢谢他们,给于我们一个迫于无奈的认真研究与开发水源资源.
    古道:塞翁失马焉知非福,希望咱们的水源不久的将来,也可以供应给邻国.加油!
