It was frustrating. No doubt about it. Sparty getting a bogus TD return from a non-fumble and Rivas missing that field goal at the end of the 4th quarter...the game should never have gone to OT. But every game came down to the last minute in 05, win or loss.
Michigan State goes as far as the refs take em, that was a forward pass by Chad. Luckily we won in OT.
Thank you for including the Spartans highlights as well. There is a guy who does the videos of Spartans games and he never includes the highlights of the opponents
My freshman year 💛💙🏈
wasn't 2005 the first year for instant replay in college football? the fumble should have been reviewed.
63Dsl Instant replay was introduced the year before.
Man, we got 86 players on our team that are freshmen or sophomores, when they're all juniors and seniors, we're gonna be DAMN good!
Go Blue!
One of the Big Ten's Greatest Games and tommorow it's going to happen again GO BLUE!!!!
They were 4-0 with 3 blowout wins over cupcake teams and a thrilling OT win against Notre Dame. (Even I cheered that day).
After they beat an awful Illinois team 61-14, Sports Illustrated wrote an article on how great their offense was and I had a feeling that would come back to haunt them. They were favored against us for the first time since 1968.
After we won, Sparty only won one game the rest of the year.
I'm a Wolverine fan... been to the Big House numerous times... been to Spartan Stadium once in 2009 vs. Iowa... Spartan Stadium is nothing compared to the BIG HOUSE.
Another one of those games where we just dominated and we just left a team in there, but I just love beating Michigan State...and I can't stand Dantonio and we need to put him in his place this year...i hope
I miss these kind of UM-MSU battles. It hasn't even been close the last couple of years. Sparty has dominated UM for the past 3 years, hopefully this year will bring back the Paul Bunyan trophy where it belongs: in Ann Arbor.
Spartan Stadium doesn't seem to have an endearing nickname like the Big House. Can we call it the Halfway House?
3:30 LOOK AT THAT OFFENSIVE BLOCKING. Henne had all day to make that throw!
You'll never see a game produced like this on ESPN. The theme music at the beginning, the overhead view on the first play, the on-screen graphic at 2:22. All awesome. But I'm just ranting on for no reason, again. Plus, how did Rivas miss that kick?
Freshman qb + away game + shaky defense + rivalry =very difficult game. Hopefully well do better against Iowa. Their D has sucked as of late too. But hell of a comeback effort from our boy Tate. This kid is a true athlete. Big Ten teams should be looking at him and saying we might have a problem. GO BLUE
I did. But the other one I made was too short and I didn't edit it very well so I decided to make a better copy.
@commodorefan2 Never said you were a Spartan fan and didn't suggest it either...I was saying he was joke and he'll never live that one down...definitely one for the blooper reel.
@andrewps84 That's true, they are great videos! Well, I guess all I can say is there is a mutual respect on both ends and I hope that 2011 brings a helluva game between the Spartans and the Wolverines
the first play's camera angle would be good for the whole game
Chad Henne was the truth at Michigan.
you spelled Mike Hart wrong. seriously tho, Henne was solid but he had Super Mario Manningham and Stevie Breaston.....
@DMichiganWol21 You know I won't stoop to your level. I have a respect for UM and a great love for Bo Schembechler, believe it or not. Dantonio isn't rolling over like all the other coaches did, get over it...Half of the Wolverine fans I know can't even spot Ann Arbor on a map, they're about as fairweather as they get. I have a good reason for supporting the schools and programs that I do. Good luck to your program this year.
That fumble call in the 4th was and still is awful I don't understand what the replay booth official was looking at.
@andrewps84 I know the comment is removed, but I will answer it anyways.I've been a Michigan fan for more than 20 years of my life & have been to Ann Arbor as well as East Lansing (Which is beautiful by the way, my rogue cousin went there)...jk.It is a great school. Now to your comment:I wasn't making fun of Michigan State in my first comment, I actually was fun of Michigan with a backhanded comment to MSU which was not cool...my bad...2) My problem with isnt Dantonio's coaching, it his attitude
Go blue baby
@matusmit i still dont get how they called this a fumble
@DMichiganWol21 I agree, there are things about Dantonio I don't like, but I think he's an improvement from that hillbilly John L. Smith. I have been to the Big House and honestly I am in awe of the place, compared to Spartan Stadium (I used to live a few miles from there.) My parents met at MSU, coming from totally different backgrounds and my dad coming from 12,000 miles away, himself as a grad student. You can see why my love is there. I like the videos, what can I say?
This is the year we beat MSU. Go Blue!!
what ever happen to Antonio Bass? he might of been good for Rich Rod O
@andrewps84 and good luck to your team...i hope that both teams are 100% and the better team wins
You can't beat ABC. But I still prefer ESPN's coverage to the Big Ten Network.
@commodorefan2 Yeah John L. was a joke. He was championship coach at the Pop Warner level...Ron Mason and President McPherson must have been high on something.
@ 4:28: There you go again, Brent, calling Jason Avant "Anthony Avent".
Oh Rivas... how do you miss that bud?
Just a few more days...GO BLUE!
How the hell did Sparty get to #11. Wasn't that the year they played so many cupcakes.
In the NFL that would fall under the Tuck Rule and be called an incomplete pass. Not sure if NCAA has that rule. Personally I think that rule shouldn't exist and that should be a fumble. Henne had no intention of throwing the ball. It was still in his hand and he had pretty much done his entire throwing motion, and the ball was below his left shoulder. He wasn't throwing that ball.
None the less, both teams tried their best to give this game away. But Lloyds ability to blow big games was no match for the power of a John L choke job.
Yeah, that fumble in the 4th was horseshit. I've seen NFL situations where that isn't ruled a fumble even when the ball is still behind the QB's head. The rule is that ANY forward motion whatsoever gets ruled an incomplete pass. Refs screw up all the time, but this is the third shitty call in an MSU game that has lead directly to points for Sparty that I've seen thus far.
Oh what could have been with Antonio Bass.......
Haha look at the fans' reaction at the bottom at the end.
@andrewps84 Yep! It's Great To Be A Michigan Wolverine!...Typical Michigan State Fan Comment
I know him personally....my dude blew out his knee. He indeed woulda been superb.
Michigan WOLVERINES vs Michigan state Spartans 2005 Brent musburger Gary danielson jack arute more big ten conference
Big Ten Network needs help!
God that MSU defense was terrible. So much has changed.
Refs suck.
Go Blue!
