- It's not often we see Pontiac G8s at the drag strip, especially ones with a parachute, drag radials, and skinnies up front. As soon we we heard the turbos screaming on this heavy hitter, we knew we had to check it out!

My family sold Pontiac’s for about 80 years and I can’t stress enough how happy it makes me to see the Pontiac community alive. My grandpas philosophy was to always order the cars with the larger engine option. Worked great because his small dealership outsold many others simply because he knows everyone wants a nice big engine! (Before gas mileage was even something people would think about before buying a vehicle) Kept that business model till 2008 when gm ate shit and dumped the franchises. Was a great childhood playing around the showroom, g8 was my personal favorite. Would love to build an old gto in memory of my grandfather. A true American immigrant who went from sharing a single piece of bread with the family for dinner, to being able to die knowing his family would never again experience the starvation that drove them to America.
Even stock or slightly modded the G8 makes people go WTF especially when the second set of doors pass you

Not necessarily. I drove my ole ladies back in school and it was very disappointing and I’m a Chevy fanboy. I have a LS3 and a LSA camaro now that took my breath from day one. It was probably turned down but still heavy asf.

Unfortunately I missed seeing this event by one DAY. I arrived in Omaha on the 9th. I did get a chance to do a test and tune here the following Friday though, that was fun. It's a really nice track and I met a lot of cool people. Would've loved to have seen this action in person, but I'm glad I at least get to see it here. Thanks!

No, the cars are Australian built but the engines after 2000 are American Chevy LS

@anonymous Actually I'm in my 30's. Thompson Motorsports built the 427 and Koza Performance fabricated the turbo kit but my husband and I have built the car in our garage over the last almost 7 years.
@anonymous I think he just meant that it wasn't a shop built car which is correct. Lots of shops and companies have been apart of it but like I said my husband and I have been building it for the last 7 years in our garage. Awesome! You Aussies have all the cool cars over there! I'd love a Ute or VF Wagon.
