War in the Woods - WRECKS, Close Calls & a SKETCHY TRACK!

- We know what we're getting into when we head to "War in the Woods" at Brown County Dragway. The event features some crazy fast small tire cars (among other classes) and the track features narrow (slightly uneven) lanes divided by a thin strip of grass. Yes, there is grass on the racetrack. It gives both racers and spectators and added level of excitment as these 1000+ hp cars navigate down the 1/8th mile track. Unsurprisingly, we see numerous wrecks and a lot of close calls each time we come to this event.

Not a word about that blazer crossing the finish line on the back tires!?
Came here looking for this. He hit the scramble button and hiked em. 😳
That was impressive.
THATS WHAT IM SAYINGG
Absolutely should have been mentioned
Timestamp?
That K5 Blazer was on 2 over the finish line. That’s one HELL of a Scramble Button.
Ole son was hangin the front end across the finish line
My 4.3 V-6 Blazer would hang the hoops if I put it in low gear and tromped on the accelerator a few times..

"they're kind of banged up I don't know if they'll be able to make it next round" (both cars are totaled) I guess Fred was being optimistic...
LMAO i thought the same thing looking at both front ends pushed into the drivers seat
Would've been funny if he interviewed them, asking if they're gonna call it a night, what's left of the cars being towed away in the background.
lol same here I was like, am I missing something here?
that fox was beautiful, i still have my 93. Watching that almost made me cry. I drive on the weekends only on the street and when someone almost hits me it makes me sick.
Nah, he's being a straight up idiot like usual.

Man you have to much time on your hands lol. But we appreciate you.
@@jbrayda9 it did take a lot longer than expected. 1st time and last time I do that lol
Cheers mate!
"How many idiots can we stand around a burnout box?"
Was wondering that myself. They can't possibly get any closer to the car's doing a burnout.
all it's going to take is one broken axle during a burnout you'll have three fatalities
My first thought when I watched this
How much does it cost if you hit someone?
@@slomo1010 whoever gets hit has to pay the driver 100
I avoided all other war in the woods videos until this one got released lol
Literally do that with all their videos. Unless it's a Cleetus video then I watch his first😂
I watch the other ones then watch theirs I show them all a little love I can’t wait for them to post to find out the outcome , wish I had the patience to lol
That's too bad.SRC has a badass movie of it
I didn't, so I spoiled the night run
I literally started watching another channel thinking why haven't 1320 covered this one then I seen Fred pop up in one of the shots so turned it off and wated for this 😂
I bet half of that crowd there has at one time in their life, been charged with possession with intent to distribute.
It’s Indiana. It’s a sure bet. (Born, raised and still here in the Hoosier state.)
Hilarious!
😂😂😂😂
That's methed up.
😅 captain obvious here 😂
Did anyone else notice the full size red and black blazer hanging the front wheels at the finish line? That was a damn good race
Don’t get me wrong this is insane racing and it is great to watch, competitors are nuts. But I can’t believe no spectators have been hurt
I’m sure they have at some point. I bet they all have to sign waivers here 🤷🏻♂️ common sense needed
They have to have signed waivers!
Waivers mean nothing in court when you as a promoter allow them to stand in a danger zone, you would think nobody would want to be anywhere near a 150mph wheel/tire doing a burnout and potential for it to come off and unalive 2-10 people but they dont seem to care lol
When that truck skidded off the end into the grass the people picnicking at the end are luckyy it stopped so quick. They mush have been a little nervous.
It’s only a matter of time. Stupid is as stupid does.
You guy's deserve a raise for this video. Great job hanging in there.
Seeing Cali Nates MLP Mustang being raced brought a tear to my eye. I remember him and Ryan Mitchell racing at Yello Belly and it was probably one of the coolest races i've ever seen. I'm so glad that car is still being kept alive to race another day.
Fred's camera, watch, phone, radio, and ear buds being on so long and batteries going dead would've been a great promo for that battery bank sponsor haha
Happy Birthday, Fred!
23:08 😂
My brain could not handle being that close to so many people.
That blazer doing a wheelie across the finish line was badass!
Jimmy Dale’s energy and personality will forever be unmatched. Dude is so fun to watch 🙌🏼
Fred is such a badass running on no sleep still knocking out the driver interviews and keeping the commentary flowing....the 1320 crew is second to none!!
Thanks for the finish line footage! That Blazer popping a wheelie crossing the finish line was awesome!
The blonde chick with the hat needs to be 1320 employe pro charged 😂
FR! What's her name dude?!
Midnight maverick she races and has a TH-cam channel👍🏽
She's already a badass driver and has her own channel.
Need to talk with Tommy Hoskinson. He's super humble but kid can drive! He will give his brother Billy a run for his money! He's responsible for most of their wins last year. He does a majority of their filming and editing, then sets the camera down and gets behind the wheel like it's no big thing. He is the epitome of "beware of the quiet guy"
Tommy and Allison put in work on the filming.
He has done a few interviews with Tommy and Billy on other vids and on src
Absolutely
A big wallet wins races.
This comment may have been pertinent like 3 years ago I'm certain everyone at 1320 knows who Tommy is and what he does lol
Something crazy always happens at War In The Woods... I want to go!
Where is it at?
@@xxdeadninjaxxkid4852brown county drag way in indiana
it’s fun but it’s usually a super long nights, once small tire starts it’s usually about 10 minutes between every race, gone 4 times and never even got through a full one, some times it can be 45 mins or over an hour of down time for no reason at all then they randomly take off like nothing
@@xxdeadninjaxxkid4852 Morgantown Indiana
@@muhcks1692 I can only imagine but that is possibly the only race in the country where you see these cars all at the same place.
I need the jobs these racers have. I can barely afford performance parts for my gen6 Camaro SS and I have almost zero debt and these guys busting out with two cars worth about $100,000 each.
I have never seen anything like this. Constant action and insane drivers and spectators. The people standing right next to the cars when they are doing their burnouts reminds me of the spectators watching WRC cars go by at more than 100 mph while standing right next to the road. I love it.
I was at this race for my first War in the Woods and let me tell you it is such an experience. I’ve been to a lot of big name no prep/back of the track events and this one is in a world of its own. Cannot wait for the next one.
Was my first time going to War too. Nothing else is like it.
Ive been waiting for a revisit to this track for so long. This here is American racing at its core.
Need to Mic Fred up so the editor can add text when Fred is trying to talk over the cars or announcers
Seriously. Thought the same thing
That would be far too professional and take away money from Kyle’s Japan trips.
@JackTorrance333 lol
God it always hurt watching cars get smashed. The time and effort someone put into these cars just for it to go out the window in seconds. That’s just the name of the game I guess.
Love how Fred was being all nice to Jimmy then immediately talks smack to Barney… classy🤣
ahhh he wasnt smack talking just matching barney's energy, barney came to win! BLUECHEW looked like it was gonna be fast too
@@trivy1752 fair enough didn’t mean any hate was just funny to see
Varni....his name is Chris Varni
@@BlownSkillet I was reading not listening and the captions said Barney and I don’t know the dude lol. Chill.
“What’d you win for that?”
“I have no idea… a good time”
Hell yeah that’s racing right there
That car you called a Mitsubishi you didn't know what! That's an Eagle Talon from decades ago they were awd
Same thing. Both DSM's
Bugs the SHIT out of me how many useless people always congregate on the starting line and burnout boxes.
Dsm cars have always been amazing. One of the greats that died out for sure. Ive owned two.
My area luckily still has a couple of clean ones and the community around them.
Holy shit man, that blazer picking up the fronts at 1320 is gnarly (48:44)! Gotta love old bodies!
Holy fuck
That's 660 not 1320
Can you say "SCRAMBLE"?
i just saw that; i was looking if anyone else caught it
Does anyone else enjoy seeing the leaves getting kicked up at the finish line?
Man that sucks for the green car jumping at the end. He was fast and definitely could've taken it. Driver error screwed them. That car was quick!
Idk if he would have won, I think it woulda been close. Frankenstein is damn quick as well.
@@eddiegodat8263 I think the Daytona knew he needed the jump out as much as he could after seeing the rematch with Frankenstein vs Cantu.
Frankenstein definitely turned up the power that run 😂
@@ItJstWrks357 they were both super fast, and he tried to get the edge, just left a hair early. It happens in all of racing.
The Daytona shoulda had it, to me he tried to make up for the previous late hit on the light.
@@ItJstWrks357 He still got drug but got bailed out with a jump.
*in it sideways* "That's why I let off"
I used to race there every Sunday. I had a '67 Fairlane with a 428 SCJ. Aint changed much since early '70s. WOW !! so much fun.
How about the K-5 on the back wheels through the traps!!! Shame 1320 didn’t speak about it. Baddest shit I’ve seen in a while.
I was just watching this again 13 years later. Awesome :-)
You guys really work hard as hell, 24 hours straight recording is crazy, respect to you guys 🙏🙏🙏
This track is one my favorites you visit. Alaska on the 4th is my ultimate favorite. Anxiously awaiting that video!
Dude in the joker fox body got that forza tune lol dude just wheelies that thang
hell yes 1hour+ thanks.1320video🙏🏼🔥🤘🏿🖤
Brown County is always nuts. Sketchy conditions and drivers with balls of steel.
Only track where you don’t worry about the starting light blowing a bulb, but blowing a coronary artery.
😂
I was gonna question the intro song, but nope. It’s very fitting lol
I never in my life thought I would see a 3v mustang go rounds in a no prep. Huge props to that owner/driver!
Same here
13:51 man that mustang was standing up
I love the grass roots feel of this track, no pun intended. It has to be the most peaceful relaxing beautiful track ever
Crazy-Ass Track! Love it!
I wanted to wait 'till the end to sign in and compliment 1320video for sticking with it, truly an endurance feat for y'all to do and provide good, quality reporting and not playing favorites. Thanks for all of that!
Frankenstein has been killing it lately ! Bad a$$
Being able to sit in the shade of the forest edge and watch the races is awesome.
How the hell the organisers of this event get public liability insurance is beyond me.
Thanks for the coverage 1320 crew!
21:00 Barny talking about the kid with no runs, he basically says "I am gonna slay him" and he does. Thanks for another amazing video. You channel is the frikking best, I love how the venue looks all moody when the sun went down.
Jimmy Dale is a character! Great dude!
That is one narrow track. It warms my heart to see so many Fox Body Mustangs still racing.
The king of small tire flash light start limpy is the dude he's at every race ever doing his shit keep it up brother
This is one of those tracks that I would never risk my car, but I would absolutely love to be a spectator every single year.
forest war competition It's a great video.
This track is crazy it would be terrifying and amazing probably gets the heart pumping when you race here.
1:32 so proud of 1320 YES that’s a Donk 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Dude that k5 was badass. Wheels off the ground at the finish. Wish we would've seen more of him
Thank you 1320 Video! You're an inspiration to me!
Never seen so many fit people in one place before!

Happy birthday Fred
Yeah, that mass of bodies at the starting line is incredibly sketchy.
Where the hell is this?? Racing all through the night our town in Lapeer Michigan would never let that happen! I wanna goo!
A mobile dentist could retire in one day there...
I freaking love watching this Alaskan drag races.
Had me smiling the entired video.
That driver and his cobra are freaking ridiculously bad ass
Poor Fred needs toothpicks to hold his eyelids open... lol
Shout out to all the 1320 team involved in capturing this 👏🏻 I enjoyed every second but you guys were literally there filming every second. Awesome job 👍🏻
Bluechew if you ain't chewin you ain't screwin!😂😂 I love that say!
People definitely got their moneys worth. Great racing. Thank you 1320 for your dedication to racing
Jimmy Dale went to the other side like "Gimme me myyyyy moneeey!"
Man this is next level sketchy with all the people sitting at the starting line waiting to get run over to the horrible surface 😂
Love how they ban AWD in every class except for the class with 3500+hp promods, lmao. A 1000whp AWD car can't compete in small tire but 2000+hp promods can? That makes no sense, lol.
It makes really good sense actually. The surface is the limiting factor. A 2000+ small tire car cannot put 2000 horsepower down at this track and it would be really hard to run down a 1000+ hp AWD car that's got 100 or more feet out right off the line. At a prepped track it's different, sure.
All them ppl on the starting line will one day be a bad thing. Happened here at Milan Dragway. Guy got killed cause dude forgot to put his car in drive and when it turned green, he went in reverse.
NHRA is jealous of this, well done!
Year after year this is my favorite event thank you @1320
They need a DRONE to HOVER over the finish line to really determine who won.
43:24 that mustang looks all weak and sleepy until it starts building boost at the line then it’s in beast mode
How do these promoters get insurance when they let people wander around the starting line during the races the way they do...and when a bunch of people get hurt and/or killed and they go to prison they will wonder why...Limpy will be the first to go and it's happening at more and more tracks...have people lost their minds...
Always interested in seeing how billy does I've watched him come up getting better and better... when everythings working right he's always a contender
Make the woman at 27:58 famous like the hawk tuah girl. "Supercharga" 😂

I LOVE THE LONGER VIDEO!! WAS STOKED TO GET OFF WORK AND SEE THIS!!!
My impression of the US is that it is a country that is really litigious. So seeing this kind of event is a real departure from that. You'd have to be a bit crazy to race in this one.
K5 was crazy
Raced that track first time last weekend. I'll be back to support! We had a blast!
Jimmy Dale winning all his side bets 😂 😂 gotta make that extra cash
