Very good instruction. I just ordered one of these and can't wait to get it and get on the ice.

Love the video! I have the Helix 7 and would really appreciate a detailed video on what we are seeing on the screen. All I use the Helix 7 for is ice fishing. Thank you.

Great video. The Helix series has a great ice mode.

Nicely done. I love my Helix-7. It may not be the place or time to ask, but what type/brand and test line do you like to use for pan fish? Thanks

I use Seaguar Fluorocarbon Red label 6 lb primarily.

Another great video! Thanks for all great info you put out there I've learned a ton!
Have you tried running a side imaging transducer through the ice to see if you wind up with anything useful (thinking of ways to make a por-man's panoptic)
Figured I'd ask before going through the trouble of digging out the kayak and uninsialling the transducer.
    Thanks again!

Excellent and informative video! I like your style of videos. I would just love a video on you interpreting the graphics of what we are actually seeing in detail on the Helix 7 on the Ice......please? Like when you described that the line coming off the bottom was an air bubble and not a fish.....how would one know that????

I know this is an older video. But something happened on your video that is happening on my Helix 7 and I thought I would ask. On the Jig charge mode, you pressed the right arrow and nothing happened, that is the same thing that is happening on mine. In your video, you cut to another overlay video that shows the Jig Charge mode on. How did you get it to finally go to the white screen?

I know this is a older video but came across it because I'm in the market for a sonar/flasher/under water camera. I bought the Eyoyo under water camera last year and it has worked okay for us. We have used the garmin striker 4 to help, but I'm looking to invest in a unit with mapping gps I've owned or used either a sonar or flasher another wish would be to record what i see on the screen while hole hoping.. My local fishing shop was saying I should look at the marcum lx9? Alot of your videos have the hummingbird models, I guess what I'm asking is with your experience and the models that are out there what do you think would best a good fit for us. Noticed on this video your underwater camera looked amazing in the depth while hitting the perch what camera system are you using or like.

Great video. Yours appears to be a Helix 7 MDI Chirp Gen3 unit. For ice use does it require a separate transducer?

Thank you so much for these videos! You have helped me so much with my new helix 5 this ice fishing season. Do you have a video on how to use charts/maps/gps?

I'm looking at the G2 because the G3 is discontinued on their website. Is it the same but just different software?

The biggest difference between the HELIX G2 and G3 is the inclusion of Dual Spectrum CHIRP Sonar on the G3. This allows anglers to choose between Wide Mode and Narrow Mode. Wide Mode delivers a wider cone angle and big, clearly defined fish arches to ensure that what you’re seeing is actually a fish. Narrow Mode gives you a tighter cone angle which allows you to clearly distinguish fish, bait and structural details and provide the ultimate in target separation even when fish are tight to bottom.
