    Dear Eli,
    Thank you so much for your videos. I have my IELTS exam in two days, therefore I am a bit nervious. I am aiming for 8,5 in writing and I want to use the 70/30+ rebuttal structure.I have a question : so when you agree to the main statement you write two main causes of your support to the main topic and then in the third BP explain why some people disagree and basically argue why their opinion isnt suitable?
    Conversely, if you disagree with the main idea of the prompt you state reasons of your disagreement+ in BP 3 bring example why some people agree and again argue them why their thoughts are not correct? Please let me know if I understood the structure correct. Thank you for your time and consideration.

    • @EnglishProTips
      @EnglishProTips  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's correct! Good luck with your test (I hope I have replied in time). You can find some example model essays using this structure here: englishprotips.com/model-answers/

    Dear Eli, I am not sure if I understood it correctly. But if the question was Do you agree or disagree, it would still be fine to go with 70/30 structure?

    • @EnglishProTips
      @EnglishProTips  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes. In this structure you explain 2 reasons why you agree and 1 reason why you disagree (or vice-versa).
      Introduction: introduce the topic and respond to the question (give opinion)
      Paragraph 1: first reason why you agree.
      Paragraph 2: second reason why you agree*.
      Paragraph 3: a reason why some people disagree.
      Conclusion: restate your opinion
      *You can also put both reasons why you agree in the same paragraph. Here's the lesson - englishprotips.com/lessons/agree-disagree-essay/

    Hi dear Eli, i have seen your videos on TH-cam this month, i would say all of them are great. But i have a question. In paragraph 1 , first line in this essay. Can we write : having frequent exams ensure that teanagers, who have had ample exams, practice before counting ..... . Thank you master teacher for everything you have learnt us.

  • @billyc2730
    @billyc2730 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dear Eli, Sir the 70/30 structure, without the rebuttal, the 3rd body paragraph suggests ACKNOWLEDGING the opposite point of view. So isn't it also a critical structure to aim for higher band score, similar to the one u discussed here?

    • @EnglishProTips
      @EnglishProTips  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! It certainly is. The 70/30 structure is also an advanced structure. I wanted to make a video about, what I consider to be, the most advanced structure. And that's the 70/30 + rebuttal.
