Samsung is in war with both apple and android. That is why they need to compete with apple more cuz it is a more powerful competitor. Most people just don' t know it cuz samsung did not give apple a chance to overperform them yet since a long time.
You’re absolutely correct. Samsung is trying to fight up against Apple without realizing Apple’s “world” is solid, they have a solid base and software, Samsung needs to provide up against other OEMS

You are absolutely right. I used to have Samsung phones for years and not unhappy with them. But now I needed a new one and I came across the Redmi Note 10 PRO for an unbeatable price during a Black Friday sale. Wow, what a comparison to the A52 of 53, I am so happy I bought this phone. It love starting it each morning as it gives me all I want from a phone without paying a premium price. I might stay with Xiami now. I think it's also the fact that this market is getting commodatised: Because most smartphones these days are so so good, it doesnt really matter which one u pick for the basic features most people want. As such, unless if u r a super tech nerdy guy, most ppl will choose a cheaper option because it does everything most ppl want to do (facebook, twitter, insta, games and camera).
You guys are all wrong. The smartphone market has a big problem. The ever shrinking margins and the lack of monetization. Every year, Apple releases a new iPhone, same price $699 but more features, extra cameras, better screen, faster processor, but the truth is that better things don’t come from thin air. Apple was slowly increasing the cost of their phones while cutting the profit margins. This is because Apple has moved from a hardware company, to a services company. The truth is that phones need software monetization, otherwise they aren’t profitable. Apple and Google both collect a percentage from purchases in the App store and Play store. Google makes ad revenue through use of google search, google maps, youtube, while Apple makes money through Apple Music, Apple TV, and iCloud. Now you might think that Apple singlehandedly killed the competition, but the truth is that Google killed off their hardware manufacturers. Google wants the hardware manufacturers to make the hardware, bear all the risks and costs while they make the software and gain all the profits. The android alliance was always a bad deal for hardware manufacturers but in their desperation to fight Apple, they sold themselves to someone even worse. Now that android has the reputation and software developers won’t remake their apps for another OS (such as windows phone) the only option for phone makers is android. Samsung is able to stay alive because they push their own software and services. Most TH-camrs say “why doesn’t Samsung just use Google apps?” But the reason of course is money. Samsung needs to make profit and so it makes no sense for them to give away all their profit to Google by running stock android with all Google services. While it might not seem like the Samsung services aren’t that profitable in the US, a lot of their services are more profitable in Korea. What about Chinese manufacturers? Same thing, they need software and services monetization to stay profitable. Since China bans all Google services, there is an opening in the Chinese market for their own search, maps, app store, music, etc. Xiaomi sells their hardware at almost loss or a slight loss because they can recoup their profits through the services. Xiaomi phones have tons of ads and even their custom themes require you to pay money. Since the US doesn’t use any of Xiaomi’s services or Chinese services, there isn’t much reason to bring their phones to America. So now you have the 4 big players in the mobile space. Apple, Google, Samsung, and the Chinese manufactuers (Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo). None of them solely rely on hardware to turn profits, all of them have some form of monetization through software services.
Recently looked at a xiaomii phone in a local store out of interest. Knowing very little about them, even the demo screen was way more engaging than Samsungs. I found it building confidence and interest at the same time and I’d certainly consider one over a Samsung at this time. Oh and now I’m also looking out for that health drink…! 😂😂😂
Samsung in my country has too much bloatware which can only be removed by root the phone. And root the phone makes the warranty void. Those bloatware are active and makes the phone slow, for casual users its disturbing. Therefore many customers are switching.
I came here to rant, and this is not advice - it's a harsh warning. Learn from my mistake. I stupidly switched from the Mate 20 Pro to the S23 Plus, thinking I needed an upgrade. Well, guess what? I was dead wrong. The screen quality on this Samsung relic resembles technology from a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The battery life? It's a joke. Promised performance levels? More like a pitiful cry for help after just a year of use. Meanwhile, my old Mate 20 Pro, now gathering dust in my nephew's room, is still kicking butt with its superior screen and battery life - a true champion compared to this sorry excuse for a flagship Samsung is peddling. And let's not forget the agonizingly slow reboot speeds that make watching paint dry seem like an action-packed thrill ride. Samsung's decision to stick with a snail-paced 45-watt charging speed on a flagship device? Utterly mind-boggling. Paying top dollar for this underperforming garbage is a slap in the face, and no amount of flashy marketing can hide the fact that Samsung's phones are a complete waste of money. Am I suggesting you run into the arms of Huawei for salvation? Absolutely not. But let me tell you, there are plenty of other brands out there that offer superior quality and performance than this floundering giant. So, do yourself a favor and think twice before blindly following the Samsung hype train into disappointment and regret. Your wallet and sanity will thank you.
Personally Xiaomi made me educate myself about smartphones specs and how we pay extra just for a brands name also it made a lot of companies re-check its pricing .. so anyways Xiaomi is not that bad even to non users Xiaomi is benific

@@madtech5153 Still can't believe it. You buy a phone that's statistically less good than the US version. Even though it's always the US who get the best Samsung promo's!
My reason: build quality. Samsung uses cheap plastic and calls it fancy Glasstic. Still plastic, and scratch too easy. Xiaomi: glass and metal (for the better phones). And good specs also, better price. I use Xiaomi now for 5 years and i'm happy with it.

Nope Xiaomi is only good when they're much cheaper than Samsung better price to performance, Samsung is still the best when it comes to overall quality of their flagships for any Android phones , reviewers in China have tested all Xiaomi phones and one consistent problem was their devices producing excessive heat and build quality problems.
I have to say I just good a xiaomi 11t for $300 and the phone runs just as good as my Samsung s21 plus that cost me $1,000 I get 5g on the 11t in the USA and I don't believe in wireless charging as it's not good for the longevity of the battery so that's not a lost feature for me. Love xiaomi and wish they would come to the US but then they would probably do what OnePlus did, and we all know how that sucks now.
Competition is good though. One example I can think of is if not for fierce competition, Samsung will never bring features like IP ratings and stereo speakers to their midrange phones. Before the rise of Chinese brands, Samsung was only focussed on their flagships vs iPhones.
Right, smart phones have doubled in price and most of the tech is similar to a cheap phone. Flagships are around $2000 now where I live and thats just ridiculous. Most people are not going to pay that much for a phone. Then it only lasts a couple of years before the battery is screwed and its obsolete. China does what it always does, steal other people's tech and make it cheap as possible. I wouldnt buy a Chinese branded phone personally for moral reasons.
Well back then you got way less features, and also don't forfet inflation. A phone with highest specs but only the features of a 5 year old phone would cost less than 1000 still

Here in the Philippines. What I like about Xiaomi is that when you go to their stores, there will be no store personnel to come to you and annoyingly talk about their phones and start throwing some random craps about the specs, etc. You will not be annoyed by the presence of those store personnel. If you will buy some Xiaomi phones, then that's the only time they will come to you and assist you. Unlike vivo, oppo, Samsung, and other brands. Only Xiaomi does that and that's a healthy store environment for customers.
I would like to think that Samsung's insistence at selling "flagship phone" with inferior exynos embedded along with increasing customer awareness is one of the contributing factor behind Samsung's downfall
I don't want to buy Samsung's phones just for that reason, here in Europe we get inferior phones for the higher price, I understand pricing is different in every part of the world, but not even getting the choice of a chip is a no from me. :)
@@blaz24 with CPU being a main part of the phone. Swapping out for an inferior one, no matter how much they deny, is wrong. Agree with you they should've given us the choice or at least make it cheaper
Absolutely. Speaking from personal experience, Samsung was quickly dropped out of my list after seeing my wife's phone frequently overheat due to its Exynos 990 chip. Something that is completely unacceptable for that hefty price tag. Eventually, they released the SD version of the S20 FE in my country, but it's a little too late and serves no other purpose than pissing off buyers of the previous Exynos S20 FE. Ended up buying an iPhone. Probably not the best choice, but works out great for me and I'm fully satisfied with it.
There's also another reason why they are selling less. Smartphones are so good nowadays, that NORMAL people do not find the incentive to upgrade their Smartphone every fucking year. A Smartphone nowadays, if you don't drop it and take care of it, can easily last you 2-3 years. Meaning NORMAL people generally only upgrade their phone every 2-4 years. I think what Samsung needs to work is on long term improvement. Make the Smartphone in 4 years be so fucking good, that you need to upgrade to it.
If Samsung can cut their margins a bit more and start selling value for money products without their incompetitive exynos chips then their sales would skyrocket. The only reason I didn't get a samsung for my budget was that other companies just had better valued offerings at the same price which i knew would last longer than a samsung. Samsung also needs to review, re-think and in an overall sense revaluate their whole mobile division (which they are doing) and become more efficient.
@@osiris7945 your wrong..the much higher % of customer who buy phone is looking for affordable price..samsung FLIP are expensive...flip is literally for riches.. but the higher percent of consumer buy phone is at budget and midrange devices.. thats the target of xiaomi..

Samsung products are overpriced, it's as simple as that. I have a Samsung phone, but the only reason I didn't get a cheaper Xiaomi phone is my distaste for MIUI. You can't sell a worse product for more and then expect to succeed. Samsung should stop trying to be Apple and try to find an identity.
@@levi_lover25 You can just delete them(talking about bloatware) and MiUI is now replaced with HyperOS, which is gr8. You can also easily remove MiUI by tapping on the OS version tab in your settings 10 times, that turns on Dev mode, and in Dev mode you can unlock the bootloader, which allows you to load any OS you want

Well The name of the brand derives from a Chinese meal that the founders ate before officially starting the business, a millet porridge called “Xiaomi Zhou” in Chinese. In addition, the "MI" in the company's logo stands for "Mobile Internet". It also resembles the Chinese character "心" rotated 180°, which means “heart While In Korean, the word Samsung means “three stars.” The name was chosen by Samsung founder Lee Byung-chull whose vision was for his company to become powerful and everlasting like stars in the sky. Thats why Samsung theme is about Galaxy
As an American coming from a OnePlus 5, I was considering another brand and checked out a bunch of "untraditional" options such as Xiaomi and Oppo. But then I learned about how phones not for the US market aren't compatible with as many mobile bands and it really sucked to be essentially locked out of buying them. I could have done it anyway, but I would have been guaranteeing worse phone service. I ended up with a OnePlus 9 instead. I think it's more fun to shop around for less established brands than just going with whichever brand has the biggest market share
I'm an American who just switched to a Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and I was also worried about it not being compatible with mobile networks here. Thankfully it's been working perfectly with T-Mobile, I remember the Amazon page saying it wouldn't connect to Verizon or others though. I recommend this phone very highly, I purchased it for exactly $300 and it's genuinely the best phone I've ever used (my previous ones being ancient LG phones that were hand-me-downs from family members, and an extremely disappointing Moto G Fast that was around $200) and when I bought it from Amazon I was promised that I could return it within 30 days if it didn't work, so I felt comfortable taking the risk knowing I could get something else if it didn't work out.
I haven't done any traveling or anything since I got it, maybe in other areas it wouldn't work with the bands that are being used, but where I live it's flawless
Personally Samsung phones are great as they have one of the finest Android software with no problems but what happens with cheaper samsung phones is they don't feel like 'best' as an owner (literally every Samsung midranger has same screen like nobody pays more for better) but Xiaomi gives personalized experience with everything different for almost every phone.
Samsung makes some of the best hardware components but they don't put enough effort to great products across the board. The lower the price of the product goes the bigger the difference becomes. In xiaomi's case, their lowest is still reasonably good that it doesn't make a massive difference when you switch from their budget to high end devices unlike Samsung.
Samsung make best hardware and go quality but recently they been following Apple remove charger, no headphone jack, extreme price and NO MICRO SD CARD 😑
You want a reasonably priced mid-range phone with a great camera, Xiaomi has it. You want a mid-range with 128 GB storage, they have it too. You want a cheap-ass but functional phone without any serious compromise, no problem. Mid-range Samsung phones either have too little storage or are cheaply built or have fragile parts, and they're still expensive.
@@luisgentil you forgot software optimization. I've seen a decent amount of people that used a series devices (a52 and 72 iirc) that had their devices just slow down to an absolute nightmare over the course of a couple of months.
When xiaomi launched it was viewed as the "cheap" smartphone brand, but its massive growth over the years shows that people no longer care about the brand.
Xiaomi is smart having their phones cheaper and up to date with the future so that everyone can get a great and affordable phone with amazing technology built in them for these days like almost every one have/want a cheap phone but they also want a good phone too and the fact that they offer both is amazingly smart if had more money I would with out a doubt switch over to xiaomi Seriously 😐.
It is the overpopulated Indians who made it grow like that, Samsung lose the battle for using their in house chip, now Samsung is making changes with new launches
Absolutely true man. They should stop discriminating in terms of processors by region. And reviews are biased this way, because tech reviewers in the USA get the Snapdragon variant, which is much better and if we buy it based on the positive reviews, we get a sub-par product.
Exynos has much shorter lifespan than Qualcomm chips. 3/5 Samsung device I've own had a dead motherboard (that's their term but it could also mean dead chipset) in 1 - 1½ years. Other phones I've own with Qualcomm chips (non-samsung) never had any issues.
Yeah after getting ripped off with the Samsung S20 with the Exynos and sub par camera in comparison with the US, I won't ever buy another Samsung product.
I got the S21 Ultra with exynos and it really is no better than the S10 it replaced. Aggressive battery saving is just irritating. I will definitely try another brand of android next round
Problem with Samsung is that they're horribly over priced nowadays. Xiaomi provides the same technology at half the price of Samsung. That explains it all. Samsung phones are very good and easy to use but the price has been ridiculous in recent years.
I believe Samsung is losing customers because they keep getting away from the things that separate them from apple. Like expandable storage for instance.
They should not follow apple methods of removing every item with phone like headphone, charger etc. People by Apple for their software optimization and Samsung for their hardware.
We are paying brand value for the phone's, let's say about 15%+ is just coz It's samsung and thinking about the Exynos variant of S20 FE, it almost came down to the value of A72 and stayed there for few months and is not fluctuating. Their M and F series are not so good, A series are expensive for what they give.
Arun is like a tech teacher with such quality content and such humor, it makes his tech videos much more interesting than other tech TH-camrs who are just giving their opinions while he makes it research based and legit reasons for explanation
I have a feeling if Samsung stops selling Exynos Chips in the international edition they'll actually get a significant Selling rate increase, Not if they improve the chip, Exynos already has some pretty trash reputation, the damage has been done on the exynos part.
I've noticed that even in 2024, im surprised most teens where i live have androids but not samsung. I've seen Honors and Xiaomis, even Huawaies, more than Samsungs.
The bloatware is the reason I went to a oneplus 7T. And before the samsung I had a motorola G5 plus and the moto also had nice clean software out of the box. Anyways, I think that Samsung has to clean their act and just make fast phones with nice features WITHOUT all the bixby crap.
@@peterdevreter yeah, I honestly have no idea why Samsung is still trying to push Bixby like it's completely dead and I bet it barely has any support for smart devices like Google does. Btw how's your 7T? I heard a lot of complaints about bugs and poor optimization, did you experience any of that?
@@zUltra3D 7t works fine for now. Had some problems with the phone getting slow, but a full reset plus the latest firmware fixed that. Only downside I can think of is the fact that its not water proof. Its somewhat resistant, but I wouldn't take it for a swim.

Samsung has to use their brand to actually go the apple route. People who aren't looking for value as much are looking for quality and reliability. So Samsung should start actually giving years of very good software support and updates like apple does, because that is a field where they could outcompete xiaomi if they wanted to. It's one of the things that are annoying about Samsung, you are buying a phone but you don't know how long it gets updates.
Samsung selling exynos and turning into apple without the same quirks is just a questionable move. They also blame apple for doing something weird ( headphone Jack removal, removal of cables in the box etc ) and then do it themselves
I actually like vale, quality and reliability and you get all that with Xiaomi flagship phones. I bought my redmi note 9 pro August 2020 and it still looks and works as good as new. Samsung is in war with both apple and android. That is why they need to compete with apple more cuz it is a more powerful competitor. Most people just don' t know it cuz samsung did not give apple a chance to overperform them yet since a long time.

Camera is geting worse

@@bruhder5854 Samsung had slow midrange phones 5-10 years ago. I don't believe that's really the case with something like the A52.

Would have bought a Samsung phone, if not for their Exynos offering in my country. End up with a OnePlus.
Eh, Oneplus are on the downfall too, their phones are fine but not "interesting" if you know what i mean
@@sandeshms2148 A lot of manufacturers look to Apple for leadership, or rather, what they can get away with in the market.

I have a feeling if Samsung stops selling Exynos Chips in the international edition they'll actually get a significant Selling rate increase, Not if they improve the chip, Exynos already has some pretty trash reputation, the damage has been done on the exynos part.
Absolutely, same thoughts
Thing is, Samsungs gets a higher margin with Exynos Chips, and I have the feeling that Samsung cares about the margin a lot
? The new exynos chip is performing better than snapdragon 888
Budget Samsung devices are now using MediaTek processors

Literally, most people that I know use xiaomi phone. I'd say that apple is second and than honor and samsung.
It's no wonder. Bad Exynos chips outside of the US + tons of bloatware + obscenely high prices just makes Xiaomi look like a way better deal.
Exactly
The bloatware is the reason I went to a oneplus 7T. And before the samsung I had a motorola G5 plus and the moto also had nice clean software out of the box. Anyways, I think that Samsung has to clean their act and just make fast phones with nice features WITHOUT all the bixby crap.
@@peterdevreter same opinion...

I used to buy an upgraded phone every 6 months. I haven't had to do that with the one I have but I am looking around and that's why I am here.
