Chameleons has one of the cruelest twists in the show's history- Janice wasn't even a mean kid! 10:35: (mock annoyance) What you want, Colin? (lol couldn't resist, mate) Vacant Lot is one of my faves. Image of the librarian with the box always stuck with me as a kid too
About the Tale of the Chameleons, those chameleons were actually Chinese water dragons. And turns out, Tamera played Janice and Tia was the Evil Chameleon
You gotta love how the chameleons are iguanas. My guess is because chameleons don't like being handled and are very easily stressed animals, while iguanas are friendlier and more comfortable with handling.
1:14 Small nitpick, but that's an iguana, not a chameleon. If it was a chameleon, it would have big bulging eyes, weird gripping hands with two toes in front and back, and a frill similar to a Triceratops and it's relatives. Plus they change color through emotions. 3:23 Oh wait never mind, you've addressed it.
Honestly, I never got to watch it sadly but definitely interesting show if they were to reboot it. What should be the tone for stories in sense that each story should have should focused on monsters or maybe there’s villain will actually show kind foucuses on monsters magic objects and strange happenings. So I think something like that would be pretty cool but no CGI only if it’s absolutely necessary for like certain scenes, everything should be done in practical effects is honestly honestly that’s the charm of show. Would like to see some werewolf story like instead of a wolf like it’s another animal like a bear or something think about a wearbear OK that seems kind of stupid maybe like a wear raccoon
In Tale of the Chameleons, what if the friend sprayed both of them with water? And if both girls can never get wet again, I assume that means neither one could shower again.
i love this channel just because it has so many videos like this one but also videos of less covered more obscure videos/shows like timmy the tooth or things like commercials from my childhood like the frootloops commercials and why they have changed from when i remember them from the 90s as a kid or the count chocula commercials i used to see and why you never see them anymore even their cereal which has become an october only type of item like halloween candy and other such holiday only items like egg nog keep up the great vids man even if your channel never blows up you are doing the rest of of us nostalgic 90s kids a big favor :P
I noticed the background music played during two entries: -The Quiet Librarian - The Underwater in Clanker's Cavern theme from Banjo-Kazooie -The Red Bicycle - The 1995 Casper movie theme
I always took what happened to Marie in the TALE OF THE VACANT LOT to be an act of Catherine's grandfather. All of that happens once she takes the ring that Catherine's grandfather gave her. To me it was his Spirit protecting his granddaughters
Nice video! You deserve more subscribers especially with the sesame street videos and muppet videos blowing up! I enjoy your content thanks for making it :)
Awesome video!!!! I was eight years old when Are You Afraid of the Dark first aired in 1992 on Saturday nights as part of SNICK, and to this day is one of my all-time favorites!!!
As someone who never had cable as a kid, had to watch everything at a friend's house, and was incredibly obsessed with Ren and Stimpy at the time, I never fully appreciated the 90's live action series back then. And while Hey Dude still continues to bore me because I was never a 12 year old girl, I feel like I missed out on Are You Afraid of the Dark and the glorious madness of Pete and Pete. If nothing else, those shows are in a completely different existential plain than the utter garbage they've been churning out for the past 15 years. Henry Danger? A show that makes Teen Titans Go look like the original Teen Titans? Noooooo thank you. And that's their best one.
I didn't watch Are You Afraid of the Dark? that much because I was a big wussy as a kid. I did watch it sometimes, and there were definitely a lot of scary stories that stuck with me. I feel like Goosebumps definitely freaked me out more, though.
so maybe because of some of the voice actors from Magic Scool Bus being on Are you Afraid of the Dark might have been the inspiration for the live-action fanfic movie trailer where the class does go to hell (after Ms.Frizzle dies).
I understand why you didn't, but man, I was hoping you'd shout out Brooke Nevin in The Tale of Bigfoot Ridge. She played "Rachel" in the Animorphs TV show. It wasn't a great show but she and the rest of the cast gave their all to it. The issues were with the writing, editing, and effects.
So we have the cast of Arthur and the Magic School Bus...and Anakin Skywalker... Yeah, that's a bit of a hard juxtaposition there, innit? Lord knows if any of the DiC/Cloverway dub Sailor Moon cast appeared on this show, then we'd really go off the rails there.
Speaking about the cast of the Magic School Bus... Tucker (one of the members of the Midnight Society) is Carlos. Yes, the pun-loving Carlos. That's the true scariest thing about this show.
Hey Colin, if you’re a fan of this show, I HIGHLY recommend checking out a show from the early 2010’s called: R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour. It was a big part of my pre-teen life and is so, damn good. It has surprisingly mature themes and very eerie moments. Some of the scariest eps are (in my opinion): My Old House, Uncle Howee, Scarecrow and Grandpa’s Glasses. I personally consider it the Are You Afraid of the Dark? of the newer generation.
OK, who invited the Duke of owls here? On a sidenote, that is a really funny reference to rock doodle twiddle Dee Dee they’re running out of batteries for that flashlight. And I just wanna point this out so a lot of nocturnal creatures have a fear of light since many of them sleep in the day owls are kind of an exception since well they’re not afraid of the lights since sometimes they’re out in the day, but not all the time it’s mainly the bright light that they don’t like that. You know I think about it. It would’ve been cool to have an episode with an owl as the antagonist like essentially like it’s monster owl or maybe it’s like a statue, but it starts to come to life and it’s weakness is bright beam of light to the eyes. Something like that would’ve been cool.
Nice episodes in all 3 Parts. Here's also mine: 1. The Tale of the Midnight Madness 2. The Tale of the Hunted 3. The Tale of the Midnight Ride 4. The Tale of the Dead Man's Float 5. The Tale of the Silver Sight 6. The Tale of the Ghastly Grinner 7. The Tale of the Night Shift 8. The Tale of the Walking Shadow 9. The Tale of Jake and the Leprechaun 10. The Tale of Badge 11. I know this gets compared to Goosebumps a lot, but the stories remind me more of Bruce Coville's books, especially that magic shop series. It feels like season one of the XFiles too, with the way its shot (and they're both filmed in Canada).
I remember for the longest time there was this one scene in brain where this girl summons like a demon thing and she tries to use a spoon to get rid of it cause she thought the spoon was "silver" but I wasnt and I tried to find this scene for the LONGEST time. I'm so glad I know what it is now.....and I'm telling you it took me like 10 years to find this...
I never really watch AYAOTD as I normally like animation but this countdown is pretty cool, btw is the Headless horseman episode a little foreshadowing when you get to the Disney one ?
The one about the house were the Lil girl lives in and her mother is the nanny. But the cousin is just mean to the another cousin. But I can't think of the name. But that is a good bc the Lil ghost is trap in the mirror of the old house.
My fav thing about the show is when they have black actors but hardy. But the funny thing when it was a story on a black characters the actress character Kiki always told the story anyone else notices that? Also if their were black actors especially females there hair was normally long or finer hair. There was only one episode I can remember were there was a black girl with natural 4c hair type I believe she was in the one about the Egyptians also there was another black character actress with 4c hair type was on the mirror episodes with the old man trying to steal her youth. But these are just my thoughts watching it has a young person but over all major although scary. Not sure which was scariest goosebumps or are you afraid of the dark. And the fire ghost is scary as hell...🔥🎃😱
Can I just say I am big fan of the show but this is scary I can only watch the dvds I have now in the morning lol. I just season 1 through 3 or 4 I believe. But I hardy watch them lol. But th8s is my childhood show.
Wow. If i had a nickel for every black-skined girl named "Connie", i would have two nickles. Wich it isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Right?

Chameleons has one of the cruelest twists in the show's history- Janice wasn't even a mean kid! 10:35: (mock annoyance) What you want, Colin? (lol couldn't resist, mate) Vacant Lot is one of my faves. Image of the librarian with the box always stuck with me as a kid too

Yeaaaa...im 32 and I just noticed that shit smh lol This was my favorite show.
And yet ironically it's kinda in between. Iguanas can be extremely rude and dangerous to handle whereas Chameleons are kinda eh-ish just more delicate
The bike episode is pretty much the only one I remember in any detail. Really got to me.
The chamelion episode was straight up murder. Thats hardcore for a kids show
The Quicksilver episode is seriously underrated
Goosebumps ain't got nothing on this.
What a throwback, this show was dope back in the 90s
1:14 Small nitpick, but that's an iguana, not a chameleon. If it was a chameleon, it would have big bulging eyes, weird gripping hands with two toes in front and back, and a frill similar to a Triceratops and it's relatives. Plus they change color through emotions. 3:23 Oh wait never mind, you've addressed it.
This is my favorite show of all time. I grew up in the 90’s and this show was a staple in my household
This is one of the few shows from my childhood that I haven't revisited, because I don't want to be disappointed, but it looks like it still holds up.
Honestly, I never got to watch it sadly but definitely interesting show if they were to reboot it. What should be the tone for stories in sense that each story should have should focused on monsters or maybe there’s villain will actually show kind foucuses on monsters magic objects and strange happenings. I noticed the background music played during two entries:
-The Quiet Librarian - The Underwater in Clanker's Cavern theme from Banjo-Kazooie
-The Red Bicycle - The 1995 Casper movie theme
That dog with the eyes still makes my skin crawl and media usually doesn’t do that to me
I always took what happened to Marie in the TALE OF THE VACANT LOT to be an act of Catherine's grandfather. All of that happens once she takes the ring that Catherine's grandfather gave her. To me it was his Spirit protecting his granddaughters
Interesting theory, I’d never thought of this.

SNICK was awesomeeeee .. I was 5 in 1992 , they don’t make TV like they used to back in the 90’s

The twisted claw episode was told by Dave after the third episode the tale of the lonely ghost
You know, Daniel DeSanto and Rachel Wilson stared in Total Drama.
Most of the monsters/anomalies in are you afraid of the dark and goosebumps could pretty much be scps
I remember being afraid of looking into a flame after the first ghost episode... I kind of still avoid doing it to this day.
Great video

The tale of the shinny red byscle is my favorite episode of the sereies. Well that is, until I see season 4, 5, 7
Can you do some of the goosebumps episodes and RL new series episodes.
Jewel Staite also played Becca Fisher in Flash Forward and Catalina in early seasons of Space Cases
And she was in "The Only Way Out" starring Henry Winkler & John Ritter.
It was one of her first roles.
17:02 i have the IQ of a sea slug I'm pretty I would go to the shop again
Fire ghost is scary as hell. 😮😮
Old school nick and old Disney Channel was the best I missed the 90s and early 200s.
Super Unreal!
Dang. Another youtuber put shiny red bicycle as his #1 episode
Twisted claw was creepy lol
neat video! I love this show as a child! P.S. I hate the episode the tale of the Gruesome Gourmets!
Quick sliver was scary too.
Jay Baruchel appears in "The Tale of the Dead Man's Float."
If you forget that would be a hiccup (drumbeat)
i was wondering why he only did one part of this video, but i didn't see the date til' now xD good thing i didn't ask why he only did one part..
Also, Gordon Masten (Mr. Collins) died in July.
