Completely & utterly blown away. At about 03:00 I lost any doubt that I may have had about whether God exists or not because Haley Reinhart didn't just happen by accident Aside from her incredible voice, presence, class, beauty & the fact that she never, ever mails-it-in I don't know exactly what it is about her that makes me want to see her do so fucking well, so fucking bad, but I do, always have & I'm so damn happy for her right now...
So Very Special! Never thought I would watch a reality show but flipping through channels one night years ago I heard her singing Blue I think it was, not something I would normally pause for, but did because it was, well, special. Immediately scoured youtube for anything I could find and have religiously ever since. So Fucking Special. I said it! Thanks Tusk for all you do to promote her.
Tusk, you captured Haley Reinhart's fabulous performance of "Creep" at PMJ's finale of their European tour at Indigo 02 in London both musically and visually! This is Haley's best performance to date as is your best video of H.E.R. so far! She looks so amazing in her ALYCE Paris dress in your up close and personal video ; )
I totally agree with you her voice is amazing. Vibrato and resonators are awesome as well. Do you know the specific name of that prom dress from alyce paris?
maymouna sissoko Though Penny hasn't replied, I can assure you she knows of what she speaks as she's a friend of Haley's family who works for ALYCE Paris.
Tusk, congratulations on this fabulous video of Haley singing Creep reaching 100000 views. I remember watching this before the PMJ video came out and thinking what a special performance this was. Haley is fantastic to listen to, even better to watch on video and unbelievable to see in person. You have done a great service to the Halien community documenting this formative stage of Haley's emerging brilliant career.
Wow. I forgot how amazing she is. Her voice is simply...wow. Especially in this song her voice reminded me a little of Christina Aguilera's (wow!). I just can't fathom how underrated of a singer she is. She's amazing! This version was mesmerizing and beautiful. This is by far one of my favorite Creep covers I've heard.
@johnny chen i love haley and Xtina for all eternity but you cant say one is better than the other.. Both have unique personal styles.. Haley has wonderful rasp, growl, and effortless range.. Xtina has raw power, soul, mellisma/ vocal runs.. No one is better than the other... You can hear xtina sing a few lines of this song on the voice and its equally, but differently wonderful..
Christina belts out the song like many other singers can, but in Haley's case she has that very rare ability to draw you into her world of music, can only compare her to the great Ms. Eva Cassidy.
Haley Reinhart!!!, Wow!!!, You are a Great Singer!!! I just have re-discovered you with the "Postmodern Jukebox" and I can't be more excited!!! Back then, when you were on American Idol, I loved you a lot, now, I love you even more!!! Congratulations!!! I wish you the Greatest Success!!! ¡Saludos desde Monterrey, N.L., México! :)
I love this performance. It is noteworthy as one of only a couple that were captured on video prior to the release of the studio version she did with PMJ.
I wish I can like this video 1000x and that's not even enough to show my appreciation with her voice. So much talent, so under rated. She gives me the creeps in a good way.
I think this is one of the first times Haley sang this live.. It has to be the best version out there. She uses some phrasing she hasn't repeated since.. Love it.
Indeed this came out before PMJ posted the studio version, which was recorded a week or two before this performance. The performance in Lyon was the first time she performed it with PMJ, prior to the studio recording in Zurich. It's on TH-cam also.
Another tell that it was one of her first performances of this song before the release of the video, it is completely silent when she sings "you're so fncking special".... I heard gasps in the audience, not all the whooping you hear every time she sings that song now. She sings this song w/ so much drama. I literally could not hold my camera still my body was shaking so much from this performance ( I had two hands on the camcorder, one holding the camera, the other trying to steady it holding the lcd screen....I failed :P). Easily one of the all time great, if not the greatest, performances I've had the fortune to witness live :)
@@HaleysTusk yes I think her singing is better on this then her admittedly "tired" recording - as genius as it is. The sound mixing is obviously better on the recording.
And THAT , ladies and gentlemen, is what "RIPPING the roof off the house" sounds like. Her voice is an incendiary force of nature, a firestorm that you would feel before you heard it, and then...TOO LATE! You're burning alive with no regrets.
Holy Creepola...there aren't enough superlatives to describe this performance and video. Go ahead kick me, because I died and went to heaven...all dogs and Haliens go to heaven where we listen to the incredible Haley Reinhart for eternity! Did I mention it was really good?
I disagree! I think she's going all out in this song. Fantastic belts and falsettos, not overdoing the growling, incredible note length... I love this version
Came here to hate this. Been singing/playing this song for years... Jeuss Fucking Christ I love this. Out-fucking-standing. Arrangement, vocals, delivery. Fuck me...
Excuse the shaking, this was the first time I saw Haley perform this song, it was before PMJ posted their video on TH-cam, you can tell because no one was *whooping* when she sings "...you're so fncking special" like they do now. It was completely silent when she was singing, people were so stunned, I heard gasps as she sang that lyric. It was so difficult to hold my camera still, it was that impactful of a performance.
For me, it's this one. Her belts are amazing, her falsettos are stellar, and she looks so beautiful (cinematography is good too). I also love the official Postmodern Jukebox version of hers :)
Her voice is phenomenal, but I really wish she had made the presentation a bit more tortured. But I'm being a perfectionist because I'm such a huge Radiohead fan. I mean, if I could sing like her, I definitely would've tried to connect a bit more to the lyrics and definitely wouldn't have added any sexy elements to it. But yeah, great voice!
++Zavarella I don't agree that there's a disconnect with the lyrics. Angst, anguish and passion that are implicit in the lyrics are expressed powerfully in this version by that superb voice which lifts the song up to a far higher leverl. You're too wired in to the "sitting crying to yourself in a corner" approach to the song that was Thom Yorke's way with the song, and followed by the likes of Justin Crum and Sarah Geronimo. What I dislike about that the others' approach to the song is that the singers hardly sing properly at all, and are so expressionless and passionless. Although others liked that approach, to me it's led to pretty weak singing. A number of people have commented on her singing sexily. The lyrics say she wants a perfect body and she wants to be missed when she's not there. I suppose you could say her voice is sexy, but that's the natural warmth and slight huskiness of it until the pronounced rasps and growls come out for emphasis in places. She is performing other songs as well at a live concert so she can hardly dress down for one song to hide her attractiveness.
@Martin Zaborowski im hoping perhaps she doesn't want to be. She, like Robin before her and others who have graced PMJ with their talent, love to sing and do it with style. They may not want the type of spotlight every other pop star, rap star, or rock star gets. Too much publicity maybe? I'd like to think they don't want to be turned into extravagant machines making all that money. They only want to do what they love:sing. And get maybe get paid what they earn. Ill compare it to how Steve Erwin lived. He never worked a day in his life because he loved what he did. I believe Haley is doing the same thing. If so, even on some level of comparison, I say good for her.
Listen to the words of that song and take a look in the mirror, Haley. You're not convincing. When Thom York sang that song I believed every single word of it. I don't believe you.
++thundermorphine ; Joshua Meyer Listen to the lyrics again. There is anguish and angst in them. Haley expresses that superbly in her singing. She does it dramatically with passion and drama. Thom Yorke and most others choose to be completely expressionless, okay expressing hopelessness maybe. However, the lyrics certainly don't dictate that the song needs to be sung that way. It's just the way you heard and liked to begin with although it's led to pretty poor singing by Yorke and many others following his approach to the song. I don't know what looking in a mirror has to do with it. She is very attractive-looking, and is performing this, and probably other songs, at a live concert? Is she supposed to disguise her appearance? (Actually the "official" PMJ video recording is in black and white. I wonder if that is to try and tone in with the lyrics. They obviously canna do that on stage in a live concert performance.)
I think this was the first pickup performance of this song on the road, they don't rehearse with Haley, they just do it. After this, they popped into a studio and you get the Creep recorded performance everyone knows that's on the PMJ Postmodern Jukebox channel. It was done on the road, in one take. You can read the notes under "Show More" of that video.
Angst, anguish, passion all powerfully expressed in a staggering performance. Different emotions brought out of those lyrics from the dejected hopelessness that Radiohead and most others take from the lyrics - but fully as valid if you think about the words.
I'm running out of words how to describe her voice and style....HALEY YOU ARE THE ONE....
lalique512 as someone said in the pmj video "Her voice is amazing, sweet with the perfect rasp, like honey-coated sandpaper or something"
+pnpem , I've been pondering how to describe her voice but that pretty much says it perfectly !
@@pnpem she does drink honey before going on stage apparently.
Haley is outrageous. Those key changes she makes --I can't wrap my head around how good she sings!!!
Completely & utterly blown away.

Thank you Tusk for capturing this amazing performance by Haley and sharing it with us and the world.
I can listen to this song over and over..and over..and over..
better than any mainstream artist now ,can't compare she both beautiful and talented
...how is she not a world star yet?
Loved her on American Idol. First album was phenomenal, if the radio stations had played it she would have been the next Adele.
Martin Zaborowski Unfortunately, not all the best singers are famous today, man... :(
She is fabulous what a voice same old story not what you know but who you know these so called female singers in the charts etc can't touch her.
Martin Zaborowski Let's see Lauren Alaina cover this.
+Martin Zaborowski She has talent. The charts requires no talent.
this is the most amazing thing i've ever seen
