    I see a lot of people hating(lack of a better term) on the investors and I can see why it's just I think more people need to take a more empathetic approach. I used to work in banking and one of the things I was trained in was scams and fraud prevention. You'd be surprised who would come in and say they were scammed out of their money. It can happen to ANYBODY, even the people who say the victims are naive. Even Asmongold. All it takes is someone who is cleverer than you and everyone hates admitting someone got the best of them. I've been scammed while I worked in banking, didn't lose money but came close.

      both things can be true. Im an adult and I know I will get destroyed if I go into this NFT playing field. If you know you are not a sly bastard, dont go into the field of high especulation and unpredictability. No one is saying they deserve it, but its also baffling how naive you can be in an enviroment where most is at each others throats in order to get the most profit possible.
      Yeah, fuck Logan Paul and his entourage, I hope they lose every single dime, but the investors, who were also playing the game of "I will come in cheap and I will get more value out of the people that come in later and maybe sell it to them for cheaper as well" are not saints either.
      Its harder for someone to get scammed if they know what they perform in an area that there is plenty of rules and knowledge. Its still happens, of course, but this also serves as a cautionary tale for everyone. Dont put a piece of juicy meat around your neck and jump into the lion's den, even more so if you dont know what you are doing.

    Everyone seems to be forgetting that it was cryptoking who 'came up' with the idea. Yet somehow he was only contributed an advisor role for 5%. Now this is seen as "Logan's project" and he gets all (most) of the heat while cryptoking is just seen as a minor character. Add to this his reaction on the phone "It seems your biggest problem is me selling" (and not me being the guy who started all of this) seems to further enhance this point. Even though there's no hard proof, it sure seems like this guy had the entire thing planned out right from the start...

  • @TheVoiTube
    @TheVoiTube ปีที่แล้ว +20

    Cryptoking was in 250k and wanted a lot more than 6 million. He had to cashout early due to Logan screwing him over. Eddie Ibanez initially marketed the coin and is the con artist of the idea. Logan was just pawn to use for them. Logan couldnt build the game over tokens.

    • @whoahanant
      @whoahanant ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Technically Cryptoking screwed Logan and the rest over first.
      He wasn't supposed to have that much from the start but decided to bot buy and invest more than what the group decided on. He just for some reason thinks that the group locking 5 of his accounts that he used to overbuy "screwed him over". Dunno how that logic works but he essentially got mad they gave him a slap on the wrist for breaking the original agreed upon amount. Which they then gave him some of it back too lmao.

    This reminds me of when I worked for a call center back in the early 2000’s. It was for Police and Firefighters. At the beginning; didn’t know how it worked. Became an assistant manager; found out the two brothers who ran the place were wealthy because of their parents and set it up as a disposable income type of setup. Shitty offices, crappy tech, low wage workers. They paid telephone companies, whatever amount of money, and we got names, addresses on stacks of paper that we had to manually enter into the system overnight. I learned, as an assistant manager - we only donated between 1-10% of our earnings to the police and firefighters. People would donate hundreds and thousands of dollars. Our callers, at the time would make like $6.25 an hour and would get anywhere from a $25.00-$100.00 cash bonus. Man, thinking back on it, I was a stupid kid who didn’t understand we were being used to rob people.

      This is how all charities work. So long as they do what their statutes say (and it's best when they are vague on concrete action such as "raising awareness), it doesn't matter how much of their proceeds actually get to that target. All the employee wages, executive bonuses and other costs of doing business come first - and we all know how easy it is to inflate them, circle the wagons and make everything appear legit that only a single digit percent of the proceeds actually gets to where the donator thought it would.

    Nobody deserves to get scammed and scammers should face punishment. That being said, I have a really hard time feeling bad for the investors at the end there. They made the conscious decision to put their trust, faith and money into Logan Paul of all people. Logan Paul!
    At that point just give all your money to charity, at least it has some use and doesn't end up in the pocket of a POS that doesn't even need it in the first place...
    Edit: And as it turns out I still have too much faith in humanity because as someone pointed out, these investors probably just wanted to join in when the project was inevitably pulled which is a much more believable theory than adults trusting in Logan Paul. Fuck them!

      The truth is all those who lost money are scammers and one soft admitted to knowing its a scam. "Thought I'd lose or make money based on timing"
      Meaning I thought I could exit this crypto pump and dump before the dump. They were just surprised it was scammed that hard and are looking for retribution by giving a bs sob story. Anyone dropping over 10k on crypto bets knows what they are doing. They are betting they can pull out before Coming and they are mad this was pre mature.

History repeats itself constantly because we refuse to learn from it and while this isn't the most important example of that, it sure is the most high profile example!

    That part where he was talking about their pure Naivety / lack of emotional understanding was spot on as to why they are targets to this. I was similar till ~16-18 where I did a big Dota 2 trade "on loan" so the guy could get the rest of it and I would do the rest of mine after. The dude ghosted and walked away with about a 20 dollar mismatch at the time (now? more like 80$ or more). That was probably the first time I was truly finessed and backstabbed and after that I became far more suspicious of anything online. If it's done in stages it's minimal upfront, quadruple verifying that what I am getting is exactly what I want and there is no chance for them to switch it out, and trying to figure out from the get go what they want (this one is mainly Tarkov/Rust and the like, but I am not weakening my position for a second until I am fairly certain that you have no reason to want to kill me), etc.
    Those people remind me of that teenager me that can not comprehend that someone doesn't care at all if they actively fuck someone over. That you don't matter at all to them and could die the next day directly because of what they did and they wouldn't even know about it and probably wouldn't give a shit anyway (or invent some reason why it's not their fault and go with that).

    These tokens would be some form of OTC security. I was not able to verify whether that is legal or not, the Wikipedia article only says insider trading is for publicly traded companies stock or securities. All of this seems wildly unregulated. This would probably fall under wire fraud actually.

If enough precedent is set on crypto currency in that case, it could make others a lot more probably. It's a huge long shot, but who knows.
