Calling these mopars or the Edsels ugly is so old ,outdated thinking in 2024. All these designs are masterpieces in light of cars we have today. Interiors too.
No offense but this car was already ugly in it's original design. Years old doesn't just make it a pretty classic. A lot of cars were poorly designed back then.
I absolutely love early 60s Mopars. The ones everyone else seem to hate are the ones I think look the best. The 1960 compact cars are my favorite. This one would be great in stock form. But this custom job is awesome
I owned a 61 Fury with a 361 cu in. 2x4bbls. Intake. I pulled mine out of a field also. It was a great cool car. A man made me an offer I couldn't refuse. To this day I wish I never sold it. But I put the money in my daughter's college fund.
Never would i have ever imagined how nice a 61 dodge could look like this ... Use to snub my nose at the early dodge bodies but id love to own this even over my 57 Bel-Air i had in highschool back in 67 ... And a mo powered motor to blow you away like that really is as impressive as you can get next to a Hemi.. what a car , luv it !!!
There is something about pearl paints that go with the 61-62 mopars. The soft radius lines, the soft stampings, the spaceship interiors... all go with the pearlized glow.
Back in the mid-1960s, when I was a kid, a neighbor drove a black '61 Fury two-door hardtop. The car had a 383 and was incredible. My dad drove a '61 Chevy Bel Air. The Chevy somehow looked bland next to the Plymouth. If I had more time and money, I would find one and a 61 Impala bubble top just for fun.
Personally I don't care for it, but I can't deny the excellent quality of the customizing. It's almost hard to believe the reengineering it took to rebuild this car. Like it or not this a masterpiece of work.
My youngest son and I saw that car at a car show on the outskirts of a town here in Indianapolis. It was an awesome looking ride. We'll done and sounded mean.
Finally.. Got to see what this car s all about. Been seeing it on occasion in other videos, but never got to hear about the build. Great idea turbocharging using the long rams. One of my ideas from a long time ago, except with blowers.
One of those, "It's so ugly, it's cute." The best part is that he drives is, enjoys it. That's the way it oughta be. Man + Internal Combustion = Absolute Fun !!!!
I've seen this car several times at the Street Machine Nationals. I have been in love with it for years. P.S. Hi again, I'm the guy that moved some cones so you could get around my buddies who were stopped and jabber jawing... on the cruise route!... (2024 St.Paul )
wow. Turbo'g a crossram...space planning was the assignment, and he understood it. Grasshopper green, or Hot Wheels AntiFreeze, is the appropriate color. So glad he kept the instrument pod and glitter wheel
Back in the late 60s early 70s my parents owned 2 1961 Dodge Pioneers and my auntie owned a 1961 Plymouth Belvedere. This was in New Zealand. Back in those days New Zealand imported American and Canadian made cars.
Hi again My classic car Dennis from the D Mi 😎 USA 😁 thanks for sharing another great video find hey I'm a Chevy Man😁 but green is my favorite color 😀 so I think this 61 Belvedere is Awesome 😭💪👍🤩 looks great well done 💖
I usually wouldn't be into that green but it works on that car. You don't even need coffee in the morning.Just step out in the garage and look at it and presto you're awake 😳
That belvedere is stunning.
I agree
ugly if you dont what it is its a chrysler product they built some strange ugly stuf
You are clueless.
I think the 61 Plymouth is beautiful, strange looking but beautiful
I agree!
Front looks kinda like a Lexus.
It looked good before they did whatever it is they did to it. Look like crap now.

Subjective opinion. They are ugly.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I think it’s beautiful, albeit in an unconventional way! That’s part of its charm.
now the Edsel were just butt ugly as are a lot of Fords
Hot Wheels 🎉

It's fng perfect. Stance, color, tires. Exner smiles from above.
Too much form killing function. Hope chap doesn’t hit rain on his travels.
I love it. Normally a car like that only gets driven on and off a trailer. That one goes on Power Tour.

I vaguely remember my dad having a '57 Imperial.
It was Peuce!
What an awesome machine! Long ram with turbos!!! Just awesome
What a kick-ass build.
This guy had one heck of an idea for this build. Me personally I don’t care for green but this car looks great. Thanks for sharing this
builds like this embarrass guys whose imagination doesn't go beyond chrome and get a hot rod that looks essentially like the next one
There is something about pearl paints that go with the 61-62 mopars. The soft radius lines, the soft stampings, the spaceship interiors... all go with the pearlized glow.
This guy's vision of a huge family car from 1961. It's so cool when someone hotrods the totally unexpected. Stunning Job.
Looks like something out of a Hanna-Barbera cartoon, wild.
Route "66" has been gaining in popularity the past few years.😎👍
I'm from Duluth MN and I have seen this car many times and it's even better in person. Just one of the nicest cars you can ever see.
Yup. From Cloquet here and I've also seen this car at many local shows. Like you said it's much better in person. Guys name is Greg Netzel I think??
Tony is his name.@@shannonjensrud5712

Being a MOPAR guy since the '60s I just never liked those body styles but that is one cool looking Belvy ✌💖☮
This car is so cool the body lines are amazing 👍🏻🏁🏁🏁

I grew up watching you. 35 Now. I couldn't have clicked fast enough seeing a new modern day episode of you and cars.
Beautiful Piece of craftsmanship 🙂❤

I'll I don't know about anybody else but I love that car that is one cool looking car
I take my hat off to you brother🤙 I say this with love❤ Your car is a freak of nature lol fantastic job Hollywood give you a job you’re very creative
What makes this car is aggression. The front grill and headlights make the car look mean, and it backed up with all the mods.
It looks snarlie
Wow, that's fantastic that he drives this beast. Well done, Tony 👏
Im a bit SURPRISED that this car isn't a hot wheels toy. Its DEFINITELY worth it
Leave to you to find these Monstrosities of beauty!
Dare to be Different!

Wow, what a masterpiece!!!😮
Beautiful machine and colors.
Thank you Dennis 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The front of the '61 Plymouth always reminded me of a monster from a Japanese kiju movie. Love that he kept most of the original dash.
Personally I don't care for it, but I can't deny the excellent quality of the customizing. It's almost hard to believe the reengineering it took to rebuild this car. Like it or not this a masterpiece of work.
Super cool. Love it. Especially since most of the body and interior design is recognizable as original. Amazing craftsmanship
Never would have believed an old Belvidere could be that cool!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
My youngest son and I saw that car at a car show on the outskirts of a town here in Indianapolis. It was an awesome looking ride. We'll done and sounded mean.
wow.. what a beautiful car..Talk about style..this is art
Wow. What a big soul this car has, awesome.
He did a great job making look nice and done right his trim lines up beautifully A+ ☝🏽❤️🙏🏽
Finally.. Got to see what this car s all about. Been seeing it on occasion in other videos, but never got to hear about the build. Great idea turbocharging using the long rams. One of my ideas from a long time ago, except with blowers.
DARE to be different ! He wins the prize, SUPER COOL RIDE
It's very cool and it looks like a pissed off grasshopper!!! I love it.
One of those, "It's so ugly, it's cute." The best part is that he drives is, enjoys it. That's the way it oughta be.
Man + Internal Combustion = Absolute Fun !!!!
Duel turbos and mean eyebrows. What a great combination.
I have never liked these early 60s Mopars, but this one was done right 😃👍
I've seen this car several times at the Street Machine Nationals. I have been in love with it for years.
P.S. Hi again, I'm the guy that moved some cones so you could get around my buddies who were stopped and jabber jawing... on the cruise route!...

My favorite car of all time. My father had a 4 door, red over white with 313 poly
313 aye. You're either an Aussie or a Kiwi. Most people think 318.
" Just pulled it Off " is an Understatement!!
Beautiful Mopar power
wow. Turbo'g a crossram...space planning was the assignment, and he understood it. Grasshopper green, or Hot Wheels AntiFreeze, is the appropriate color. So glad he kept the instrument pod and glitter wheel
That's a cool mowfow, I like it!!
I've seen that car in person and it's really COOL!!!!!!!! 🤜🤛
This is Exners finest work.
Back in the late 60s early 70s my parents owned 2 1961 Dodge Pioneers and my auntie owned a 1961 Plymouth Belvedere. This was in New Zealand.
Back in those days New Zealand imported American and Canadian made cars.

Great car, and he drives it. That turbo system takes the Long Ram and doubles down on it.
it's a 10, love it.
Great looking Car❤❤
Awesome machine!
I usually wouldn't be into that green but it works on that car. You don't even need coffee in the morning.Just step out in the garage and look at it and presto you're awake 😳
That front end is epic and the cream top = perfection. Now, how do you change the spark plugs?
Dude sick build
Awesome thks.
Maybe, just maybe you can fit a sheet of paper under that front end. Astonishingly beautiful machine.
If you put red lenses on those headlights it would look like the rear end , cool car
Not ugly at all! 🥰
Jolly Rancher Apple Green.🤘
I love it, so cool and different
Much respect for not being a trailer car
It's such a beautiful ride.... the headers not being chrome or painting bothers me a bit
Awesome car!! Far from ugly!!
Hot Wheels. Put it in there competition this car deserves it (LegendsTour)
Certainly took me decades to come to understand Exner’s vision .
Fabulous fabulous.
I saw that car in both Avon, Indiana and Danville, Indiana.
I love that car
