      And btw I’m a firefighter from Saudi Arabia and the only one in the entire department who got a leather lid. I got it when I worked as a firefighter for Atlanta fire

    Theres no such thing as a problem with collecting lids! I have a TL-2 and 1044 and love them both. I’ve used a Bullard traditional hated it. The impact separated from the outer shell and their solution was velcro strips. I then switched to the Cairns 1044 and later got my TL-2. Great video man keep it up

    Had one in 1978 while in USAF @ Cannon AFB. Wasn't as expensive as the leather of 2021. No impact liner. Pure fire helmet.

      How you liking it, I’m debating for my first leather lid to either be the TL-2 or a N5a New Yorker

    You should do a video on what you have in your pockets of your fire gear.

    I have a question, Im still new to the Fire Service and not paid yet but wanted to know how fire departments do on custom helmets if they are NFPA compliant.
    Mainly asking about TL-2

    • @Boxalarmtraining
      @Boxalarmtraining  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It just depends on the department. Different departments have different policies for helmets. Some allow personal, custom, etc. Some do not allow it.

      They aren't bad at all from what I hear. Here in Australia in the agency I'm in, we all used to wear Pac Fire F3's but now we are being given the Pac Fire F15. It sits on your head better because it's that Euro-style but it's heavier and the front light falls off if you knock it and look down. If I had to pick a Euro it would be the XF1 probs.

    Absolutely ridiculous helmet. It weighs 1 pound more than a formula 1 helmet that has heads up display and a hydration system. Protect your members spines with lighter more modern helmets.
    Or stay back in the 1950's

    • @Boxalarmtraining
      @Boxalarmtraining  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Except for this helmet weighs less than my modern…. I have plenty of helmets and this is literally the lightest one I own. I’ve worn European, I’ve worn Modern, etc. So maybe it’s just your comment that’s absolutely ridiculous… because it’s definitely inaccurate… You do realize helmets from the 50’s were lighter than the helmets of today. As we have moved through the years more and more “safety” features have been added and now our helmets weigh significantly more.

    I (respectfully) COMPLETELY disagree with you on your training premise. I have worn MANY helmets in my life. Hockey, adventure, ballistic in military and police, hang gliders, motorcycles, USAF pilot training, etc… the fact that you train in a different helmet then the one you fight in is BS. Multiple evolutions? Yeah… they suck ass! I know. Trust me. But if you have to change the way you train vs. a real live event just to meet a mark set by the department then that says something about everything y’all are doing and someone is eventually going to get hurt.
    Train like you fight and you will fight like you have trained. There is simply no excuse otherwise. I was on the street as a patrol cop for almost 13 years in a major city. And I promise you that it was this mentality I credit as to why I and many others are still alive today.
    Train in one kit but expect to excel under pressure in a completely different kit???? Really????
    You’re not a “professional athlete”. You aren’t playing a game. Real people expect you to save their real lives.
    This whole video just gives me the creeps
