  • Wud up my junkyard people. I'm getting close on The Lone Ranger. I haved started wiring up the Fuel Tech 450 and NANO. hopefully it won't be much longer and we will be able to do a first fire up. I have to add all the fluids, bleed the brakes and go through all my settings on the ECU. Thank you for watching and as always rally on!

Thank you! I appreciate it because I have no clue what I'm doing!😂😂
I really hope it all goes well 🤞

It stinks waiting on parts when you're that close to running. I've been there more times than I care to mention.
I say drop a 5.3 (or 6.0 if you dare) in that S10. It'll piss you off after all that work on the Ranger being faster and all 😛

😂😂 it's so true! I helped my buddy do the ls swap on his mustang (Boost Springsteen there are a couple videos here on my channel) and it was super easy!
Not that I really did anything..lol
I would love to do that to the S10. But I can only afford to do a 4cyl crap box😅😎
Thanks for always checking out my videos it really makes a guy happy!

@@Hoppysjunkyardrally It's not a crap box if you're putting good parts on it.
Just so you know I changed my screen name on the tube. Formerly Jeff K, I just didn't want everyone to know my full name. I've been watching your videos for a little while now, I hope you get more views so you might be able to afford more cylinders in that S10 😉
I just bought a wrecked Silverado and took what I needed, parted the rest and it funded the swap parts. It's not rocket science, but it would be cool to go to the moon with it!

@@disgruntledegghead6923 man thank you for the kind words. If I could get about 900 more ppl I could get monetized.. lol and if my videos were a lot better that would help as well😅..
And your project sounds pretty sweet to me! I'm sure in time you WILL be sending it to the moon!
Not long now and we will be doing some one wheel peelz! Hahaha

When I save up some money my ranger is gonna get a 5.0 but do you think it would be better to just turbo my 2.3l?

    • @Hoppysjunkyardrally
      @Hoppysjunkyardrally  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Well depends on what you want out of it?
Its VERY expensive to get big power out of a 2.3.
A 302 is a little harder to fit and work on but is easily modified for pretty good hp for a reasonable price.
But a 2.3 turbo will always be way cooler! And more expensive to build. Lol

Hey man I have a 97 ranger with the 2.3 Lima I plan on building for a turbo, mind if I ask you some questions about your build?

    • @Hoppysjunkyardrally

Not at all ask away🙂 I will warn you I'm not the brightest bulb in the lamp.. but I will do my best to help you as much as I can.

@@Hoppysjunkyardrally Okay so honestly, going into this with not knowing a whole lot about the 2.3 Lima. Obviously the ford thunderbird turbo coupe has the exact same motor but the pistons are different vs mine are cast because it's N/A and it's a pickup. I'm trying to find aftermarket parts/info for the motor for this build, like I can't seem to find stock length rods and I need to find crank and rod bearings etc. I just can't seem to find parts for this motor anywhere 🤔

Aftermarket rods and whatnot, just stock length etc. And aftermarket pistons as well

@@LegalLowGround Bo Port does head work and sell some stuff. Esslinger does heads, blocks and internals. Not sure if you are on Facebook? A bunch of 2.3 groups on there that are a HUGE help. I'm pretty green to all this as well. XSPower makes a bolt on turbo kit for the Ranger. It's a pretty cheap set up as far as quality and price. Lol I will tell you that these are extremely expensive to build. Stinger makes some products as well. I'm Johnny Applesauce 😑 on Facebook. Hit me up and I'll point ya towards the pros.
