Great insight. I'm at an impasse between the X5MC and X6MC. This one seems like a better choice for me--especially with a 70 lb. Labradoodle who needs to be comfortable when riding with me. Love BMW vehicles and currently have an M550i. I wish this had the same ambient lighting setup, USB-C ports for passengers, and the option for Sky Lounge as the M50i model. 😊
Thanks for the clear, concise no bulldust review. You could easily pass for an Aussie motor journalist but for the accent. We breed them good here. X5 50 comp. is over 200
@@CryptoCwis still overpriced imo. All car values are inflated and are slowly dropping every few months. I expect by January these will be selling for 60-70k. As much as I like this car, I don’t think I’ll be getting an SUV. I’m eyeing an m340i or an rs5 sportback.
Miles, be honest, if you had the money, which of all the following performance SUVs would you personally buy. Between the X5M competition, the GLE AMG 63s, the Audi RSQ8 or the Jeep Trackhawk. Only between those four SUVs. Since you have a very good idea about them all, which one you liked the most overall with each of their pros and cons. Which one you wouldn't hesitate and buy?
Excellent detailed presentation and effort. Really enjoyed watching. I believe the x5m competition have internal cameras for recording past 7 days (anti theft feature). Do you know happen to know mum about it? Thank you watching from the UK!
Miles, do you really think x5m is hass less acoustic noise than GLE 63 AMG? And what about the seats in them? Choosing between those to travel through Europe for more than 15 000 miles.
@@MilesPerHr thank you mate. Bless your channel. I also found porsche cayenne suitable either for this trip. If you would rank cabin noise of those 3: x5m, gle63 and cayenne(i know you havent tested out turbo s yet) what would it be?
Why you didn't demonstrate how to move the gear selector from Reverse to Drive. These new generation gear selectors. Don't go straight up and down from reverse to drive.
Thank you! This is more of a direct rival to the GLE and it really depends on what kind of driving experience you want. The X5 M is smoother and more subtle, the GLE63 is more rambunctious.
The Cayenne Turbo has some of the best steering and handling I’ve ever experienced in an SUV, but the X5 M Comp isn’t far off at all, and is a better value for $ in my opinion. If you prefer the cleaner lines of the Cayenne and value it’s precise handling, it’s worth the premium. If those factors aren’t as important, go X5 M Comp.
They’re all the same dish cooked different ways. I’d recommend you spend some time Test driving each, but as a little overview: BMW focuses on driving precision, Maserati is more about style, Mercedes-Benz highlights luxury and theatre, and Audi is cutting edge tech with edgier design
Sports car?. No it is not. A sports car is designed right from the concept to be fast. In the straights and around corners. Weight distribution is a big factor, also keep the gross weight to a bare minimum. This does not include room for five people, child seats, luggage compartment for golf clubs etc. A good example of a "sports car" is a Porsche GT4. A mid engined car for a good balance with rear wheel drive and a manual speed gearbox.
While I agree with you in general sports car descriptive terms, the concept of what a sports car is and is not has become blurred as buyers shift interest to SUVs. Before SUVs, the clear distinction between normal cars (sedans or trucks) and sports cars was clear, but with all the time and energy automakers put towards developing insanely capable performance SUVs, I’d argue they are every bit as “sports car engineered” as a more traditional one (ex. Cayman GT4).
@@MilesPerHr I appreciate your reply. The BMW is a lovely car. I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to sports cars. It's just a shame i don't earn the money to make the theory a reality.
I am SAD!! I ordered a 2020 X5 M Competition but the seat KILLED my back!! I had to walk away. I really liked the vehicle and was prepared to write that check, but the seats. I am baffled as to why BMW makes them so uncomfortable. Granted, I am a little thick, but you would think an M seat would be the nicest seat on the planet. Not so much sadly.
People that buy them new rarely turn around and sell them. An Used 2020 M series SUV is hard to find. There are NONE used for sale in the US at this time. If you want the older style M, sure you can find them, but who wants the older less HP model? Lease then purchase it after a few years.
I think this model has the best looking profile of all the models. Better looking than the Mercedes too
SUV'S FOR LIFE! LONG LIVE THE X3M, X5M & X6M.
I love your reviews... In-depth and very interesting. Worth every second of my time
Thank you so much for the encouragement!
i will own this car one day
X5 M is stunning in white with the black accents. Very nice!
First time watching your videos. Extremely long, but also extremely detailed and informative. Well done.
Thanks for the feedback and I’m glad you enjoy them!
Those Headlight tho 😍😍😍

Great review! I recently purchased this suv and I actually learned some extra details that I hadn’t noticed before.
That’s great to hear! Enjoy it 👍
BMW over Merc

Saw this exact spec drive by me on the highway and it looks really good. Gotta wait a few years for that depreciation lol.
They’re around $80K now 🔥

If it’s my money, I’m going with the X5 M Competition. It’s the most engaging to drive and the most comfortable for commuting. 👍
No the new 2021 Cadillac Escalade platinum would be my choice
Is auto parking assist standard option?

I like this channel I will be using this channel now and for a very long time - it’s precise
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoy it!
I wanted this suv but I didn’t buy one, since it only Produced 617 hp I wanted 618 🥴jk

Cabin volume is definitely lower in the X5 M, but the seats are equally comfortable in both SUVs 👍

This channel is so underrated.
BMW over any suv on sale atm. Crazy suv
Looks perfect except the steering wheel I would of preferred they kept the 2016 X5M style steering wheel!

They should really change the key fob already, my 2017 X5 has this key fob and it’s not even a M package or anything
The M key fob has different colors than the non M model. You also get a LCD key and digital key as well.
Trackhawk??? Great review by the way.
First review I have seen from you, worth every minute. Very well made review.

Real life gas mileage on long freeway drives is actually close to 20mpg (if you behave).
There goes the valvetrain in that light acceleration
hey Miles great job like always! This or the GLS 63?

What about 840i pgrancoupe or 850igrancoupe to review?

Saved 90,000$ for a luxury SUV but can't decide between Mercedes, Audi, BMW, masaratti? Help

There’s a button, yes

Hi Can You Drive Toyota 4Runner Limited?
I’ll see!
why is zoom in carplay- I’ve literally never seen that
any messaging app shows up in carplay. You can send/ receive messages on Zoom. that's why.
I’d take that X5MC over the Benz or Porsche for sure.
cayenne all day for me

Big boy
id like to see this go against a trackhawk
It would be an interesting race for sure 👍.
it will lose to trackhawk

In EU we have straight 6 engine in this model and you have V8 :(
Lol wtf are you smoking my friend? The X5 M competition has the same 4.4 V8 in Europe, even the X5 M50i has the 4.4 litre engine.
The large “nose” looks good on the suv but man it looks ridiculous on the sedans

it's also time for BMW to put the seat controls on the door for ease of use.
Only reason I didnt buy Is bmw wont cover valve stem seals after 50k. That's a 7k job
Interesting. Didn’t realize that
