I think it is a very nice gesture from the MoD to add their own subtitles for all the lads who lost their hearing during the trials.
☠️☠️☠️
Your hearing loss is not service related
@@fishstudies1656 😂😂😂
@@fishstudies1656Eh?, what was that?, you’ll have to type louder….
Got shrapnel in my eye I can't read your comment
the new update looks fire
Looks fantastic! I’ve seen them out and about and they’re quick as well. Good work MOD!
Don’t we love self deprecation…let’s hope it is, at last, a great bit of kit and does us proud.
Hope?
For billions spent and years wasted you were going for HOPE?
like the SA-80 it has to go through tests trials and adjustments before it is fit for service, the ajax will be fine.
No APS. Drones will haveca feast.
Lets hope the war thunder community doesn't get a hild of any documents
Good video! can you advise why you have removed the details of the four capability drops from your website please? does this indicate failure to reach those capabilities? Latest estimates are FOC achievement in 2030 which is twelve years late. Also why would the Army reward such an incompetent contractor with more business when there are proven successful IFV's available. Finally you mention exports? homy active export campaigns are you currently running? and what benfit doe the UK receive if GD sell ASCOD variants that have had their R&D funded by UK taxpayers because it appears the vehicles will be made in Spain or USA not UK is there a Qui pro quo?
well said sir
All solid points.
This is a very swept up and advanced machine. Great to see.
after finally getting this in service let's please see the IFV varient with CT40 remote turret get developed. no point wasting all the R&D invested in the CT40 cannon. can clutch victory from the jaws of defeat if handled correctly!!
They already messed up in not having domestic manufacture. We're buying them from... France (shudders).
Much of the problem is nobody in the UK seems willing to make the investment into R&D anymore.
They need to make models for anti air, anti tank and mortar/artillery. They also need electronic warfare to counter drones. But most importantly they need numbers, a small fleet in the hundreds does nothing in a near peer engagement.
We need to start modelling our mechanised forces after the Americans striker battalions.
Absolutely 💎 diamond my dear British Army ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

good to see the IFV mentioned
Man oh man. Amazing..
Hopefully be some Airfix kits soon.
If the defence budget stays as it is, the MOD will be buying the kits.
@@Murfie-qe3pp LONG TERM LEASE FROM HORNBY

That is the Airfix!
For how big it is, I'm surprised that it doesn't hold many troops inside.
There’s a lot of management speak in the description!!
3:54 I believe whistle diesel could do we one of these😂
I want a full suite of Ajax vehicles now. I rent an appartement with a balcony, but I think finding a good parking space won't be that hard after I have them :)
Lets just hope the enemy it faces doesn't find a way to jam it's digital presence otherwise the Ajax will be pretty useless by the sound of it.
Back to pencil and paper perhaps 😂
Bijou mini-tank of the Future !!!
I'm relieved to have read that they are buying Boxers, a much superior vehicle, as well.👍🏻🇬🇧
The Athena variant needs to be made far less identifiable, it's an obvious high value target to modern imagers and drones.
Needs an overwatch & IFV variant next.
Also if the Philippines can have a 105mm direct fire variant in the Sabrah im sure we could too.
ATGM's should be standard for vehicles like this.
245 40mm cannon ,with specialized non standard rounds ( like C2 ammo , white elephants , waiting on small production line restocking), and a bunch of hobarts funnies, Gpmg carriers , $7bn . Those 112 crystal chandlers in the officers mess wagons , are they diamond, with on call tea caddies service from F&M ?
Amazing
Oh Dear! The modern REME ECE is going to spend as much time repairing his own electronics as everyone else’s!
If they do make an IFV out of the ARES version then I vote to call it Achilles.
needs more ATGM
@BritishArmy: Will the Ajax at some point carry ATGW like the Spike for example?
Shame we cant afford any
looks like a conqueror 3:27
Keeping the Ares Overwatch hush hush I see
Know what I didn’t hear about? Drones what is its drone protection?
this is the british army, they don't send one track out on its own
Jamming and shotguns
The Ajax needed an integrated AT weapon.
I know we saw a possible version of a stiker type but it would be interesting in future alongside a possible IFV variant to get a similar capacity to Stormer and Striker (also maybe including a martlet capacity).
I suspect there may well be a Martle capable version somewhere along the line and maybe even a Brimstone capacity also.
@@Scaleyback317 The possible Martlet version was shown at the end (a six-pack pod deploying as the vehicle moved). I suspect there'll eventually be over 1,000 Ajax vehicles delivered once various variants are developed.
This entire project has single handedly kept the various pond life and greedy grifters in the MOD in the style they have become accustomed too , and also set up the future of British defence contracts in favour of American corporations and developers ... thus achieving the final nail in the coffin of the British defence industry as far as home grown products are concerned ..... ! Makes you proud to be British dont it !
That final nail went in just after the Cold War when Vickers closed in Newcastle, no continuous upgrade programme for Warrior and Challenger unlike the yanks with Abrams and Bradleys', the UK govt just buys stuff and says that's it make do with that to our Army.
We need a change in the way things are done, continuous upgrades throughout the lives of the fleet of vehicles means when finally replacing them, they might actually be able to resell them rather than give them away.
Heard they haveing traubles with the Ajax. Should off been loads of them. Not many made. If I remember. 🤔
Started off with many issues but now its probably the best in the 🌎 🇬🇧
Looks awesome. But serious question. That's great that it can recover a chieftain. But what about a challenger 2/3? About another 10 tonnes.
Not designed to recover MBT's - just showing capability. Challengers would be recovered by a Challenger ARRV which can pull 98 tons with a 2:1 pulley
@FinsburyPhil I assumed so. But thought it strange they used a defunct mbt as an example. Still massively impressive and I guess if the tracks or wheels are still functional it very well may be able to pull a challenger as well.
Still, very impressive piece of equipment.
Looks like it was worth the wait. Hope the politico's don't pull the plug at this stage.
If the procurement process was more competent we would have had these vehicles sooner and with less problems (probably).
They has a prototype Ajax in 2016 , wonder what they did with its testing findings ?
British Army just needs enough troops to crew these new vehicles.
Can you add an ATGM to the Turreted version simply so they can add it into War Thunder so I can use ATGM's with it please? hahaha
guessing an fpv will still ruin its day
UK company delivered over a thousand warrior IFVs on time and their reward?
A multi billion pound contract handed to USA who blew the dust off an older designed ASCOD and told the MoD this is new and shiny.
If you are listening MoD I have a replacement for SA80a3.... Its called the Spear, no not the M7 Spear... This is all new, British built from trees grown in UK and comes with a sharp deadly and electronic jamming protected steel tip.
Also it doesn't need expensive ammunition and has a max range of 30feet. So you only use it when absolutely necessary.
It's made in General Dynamics EUROPEAN Land System (Spain), not in General Dynamics Land Systems (USA).
@@paulsteaventhats even worse though

Seriously watching Ukraine and Isreal, i think these platform need a really good armour and counter projectile platform otherwise just and expensive box
Should have just bought a load more warriors to an upgraded standard..... you can keep your teeth and save your hearing in a warrior which is always helpful when you reach the Russian lines! 😊👍
I am assuming they have solved the cabin noise issues 🤔
ZAMN 😎
Did they mount the chain gun the right way round on this new tin can.
I love dangerous vibrations 😃
That has all been fixed now, ive spoken to a staffy at catterick garrison in the reme who had a friend trialing the new systems and it was given a rather decent appraisal from those working on it. It may have a janky start but if the rumours are correct its actually shaping up to be a very competitive multi functional reccy system.
So does Farage
Vibrations from a milkshake
Isolation mounts for seats, controls and noise cancelling headsets. Wonder how noise effects acoustic shot detection system?
@@RoughWalkers What?
B1 Centauro 105mm
Erection metal.
Why the muricans didn't do something similar befuddles me. Its mobile. It potentially resist anti-armor. It can bring fire power. - sarcastically soldiering
Why not upgrade the warrior and variants well tested platform
They planned to, spent a tonne of money on new turrets and then realised that most of the hulls were not in great shape and cancelled it. Great as it was it's not all that modern so there is no point unless you can reuse the old bits. I'm not an expert - this is just what I've read.
The warrior is an outdated piece of sh**. It's not even as fast as everyone says it is. They all have mechanical issues. The whole training fleet is ready to go in the bin.
@@Rempai420 hmmm it served the army well in Afghanistan and squaddies were happy.
I know technology is always challenging and changing.
I personally thought it was lot better than the 432 which was awkward to embark and disembark.
The Ajax with vibration problems was bad for the squaddies.
Better gun turret same sort of chassis as warrior.
What the army thinks the design should be is different from what the squaddies get.
Look at the light recon tank scimitar and scorpion's great wee platforms.
@@frankthompson6503 It performed well against sand pirates with RPG-7's? It literally had to be upgraded during the war as IED's were killing the occupants of the Warrior.
The same scimitar that would just randomly catch fire?
The Ajax issues are mostly ironed out and with a few anti drone and ATGM survival measures it'll make for a fantastic line up of vehicles. We do need an Ajax IFV tho. It will be far better than the Boxer.
Can you send the docs to gajin so we can get it added to war thunder
And whata replacing warrior? Oh yeah a wheeled APC something you cant really srkour up to the levels needed cause you looae mobility...so either get boxer, that being the main armoured transport....than either a upguned AJAX or that beast of an IFV the sweds have
A CV90 fleet would have been cheaper, more lethal and instantly delivered.
At this rate the MoD should consider printing instructions in Russian.
I'm not sure if the definition of "instantly" has changed recently, but by it's old definition that would have been literally impossible.
As for more lethal, that's debatable. The 40CT does seem to be a fantastic weapon, while the Bofors in the CV90 is quite dated at this point.
Everyone keeps talking about the CV90, personally I think we should have gone for the Lynx (or invested into our own vehicle manufacturing and done a clean-sheet design ourselves).
Dodgy contract dodgy product, should have gone for CV90 years ago
@@sergarlantyrell7847I mean realistically they could have just mounted the CTA 40 cannon in the CV90 or Lynx vehicles. The Ajax itself is a descendant of the ASCOD series of vehicles. Im pretty sure the CTA was in part made BAE who also make the CV90 so it might have streamlined things a bit to have the chassis and gun made by the same company but if you stand by the Lynx then yeah they probably could have just crammed the CTA40 in it and called it a day.
@@sergarlantyrell7847 Can you imagine the dog's breakfast the MoD would have made given the opportunity of a clean sheet design?
Isn't this a basic CV 90 platform with some more modern equipment?
Is the noise & vibration problem solved?
But can an FV Atlas fit in an Atlas C1?
The Warrior was battle proven, had a fantastic chassis and only required an upgrade to The existing fleet.
The warrior is also a smaller, lighter yet equally protected vehicle.
The warrior dual suspension has Torsion bars and hydraulic suspension.
What we got instead was a single suspension, using only torsion bars despite Ajax being a third heavier than warrior.
What we got was an older design based on ASCOD which has been in service since the 90s and designed before warrior.
What we got was an expensive, non functioning, heavier, bigger, older design....... With none delivered.
That's right, billions spent and nothing delivered.
should have just made a new turret for warrior with a 30mm bushmaster (i'm pretty sure such a turret already existed for the export market)
@@daspeed198 They wasted £1bn on a 40mm turret that never got fitted to the fleet.
@@joelyboy7 I thought I remembered seeing a warrior with a 40mm. I could design a turret for like a grand if they really want one
@@daspeed198 There was a design for a 30mm Bushmaster armed Warrior 2000 for the Swiss army, I'm not sure if any were actually built or if they just had a design with wooden mockups.
There was also the Desert Warrior that we sold to Kewait that had the 25mm Bushmaster.
@@daspeed198 The Capability Sustainment Program (Warrior CSP) had the 40mm CT gun of Ajax, but in a turret made for warrior. Shame it got cancelled (budget cuts I think).
No ATGM and no active protection system!!!
why no mortar carrier :(
So you know how we are looking to design a new AA system, well why don't we just give this thing a few missile tubes and a radar, great idea isn't it? 💀
Looks cool, however CV90 or a warrior overhaul probably would have been the better bet
How many will be taken out by cheap drones in a war situation ?
No mortar variant then?
So if this is built on an IFV, why isn’t there a warrior replacement? Why go for the boxer? Cost?
The idea is you have light and heavy armoured battalions. It's a more mobile, transportable and flexible force. Much the same as you see with the US and the Bradley and Striker vehicle platforms.
Good morning does anyone on this channel understand the law of basic transmutation?
Common sense dictates if you have a vehicle of 20 tons then increase the weight to 40 tons without upgrading the wheels/suspension , engine + gearbox , transmission etc it IS going to be extra noisy/bad vibrations . I am not an engineer but even i worked that one out . WHY did no-one else working on the project work that one out ? The utter arrogance of senior Army command to ignore this and say the rank and file would just have to put up with all this crap is utterly insane . They need to be cashiered out of the Army and their pensions transfered to those injured in this debacle as means of compensation.
Will it be able to be taken out by a £200 drone?

when will war thunder add this?
No ATGMs or AAM version on either the ajax or the boxer
The British army use the javelin in the IFV ATGM role. The MOD is really dumb though so I'd be surprised if they even know what an ATGM is.
Ajax takes the Javlin, and boxer has a few built trial vehicles for brimstone overwatch.
Tanks are not for urban environments warfare!
Someone gonna leak the details to gaijin or what?
Made in Spain, a country that in 2022 spent c. 1.4% of GDP on defence. Can we at least gets this stuff built by an ally that's trying to pull its weight
It is so ugly compaired to the Puma or CV90.
Well I guess its good with a new IFV buuut its yet another IFV in a marked of so many now a days
Send it to Ukraine to see how good it really is
7.04 lmaooo
8===D you like this one dont you lol
Is there one of the variants that doesn’t vibrate like crazy and very noisy for the occupants?
So much word salad, do you think they are trying to distract from something?
'potential' and 'could', two words that stand out from this, assuming the budget wasn 'fully spent on producing the video, and nothileft to pay for vehicles.
sorry, I'd rather ride in a 432, or Warrior, than be promised this thing, which is delayed, over budget, and has so many basic problems.
why not buy Puma from Germany, and negotiate a uk production deal, that works, unlike MOD
Completely useless on the modern battlefield costs more then a tank. can be destroyed by a £3000 drone.
Deafens the crew. Shakes it self to pieces. Weighs too much. Moves too slow. Will be plagued with electrical faults every winter like the Puma
German spend 5years to solute the question and use 2years to improve it.
Remember this program was started in 1998 and just now, they have finally delivered a few working vehicles, amazing vale for money for the taxpayer. They seem severely undergunned from what we are seeing today too, why would you even build a L7 mount when you have .50's. in the same mount?
Bri'ish innit
Wayyyyyyy over budget as always 😂
i dont understand the logic of replacing the tracked warriors with wheeled boxers that are only fitted with 50.cal's as the IFV of the army. and also replacing the small CVRT's with a massive AJAX as the recce vehicle....
Boxers are just equipped with 50cals they are modular meaning they can be changed to fit the mission, boxer has an array of different weapons systems such as MLRS, 105mm cannons etc. These systems are both new which means much easier to upgrade and iterate on which is the main reason warrior and CVRT got replaced.
@@ashleygoggs5679 Those modules have not been ordered yet !
Because the Armoured core don't want the infantry to have tracked vehicles.
I believe that there is an upcoming review of future orders of Boxer, with turreted options being considered. I can't remember where I read this however, probably UK Defence Journal.
They have 432's and bulldog tracked vehicles .
Drones are gunna love these
Overpriced and overrated.
What about anti tank capabilities? Brimestone? Spikes? Any ATGM launcher for that sake. Its ridiculous to skim on such a weapon when it comes to IFV's. Quit cheaping out, our troops deserve way better god damn it!!!
Ajax can take a Javlin
A weirdly high quantity of command vehicles were ordered compared to the main fighting variants. Only 245 Ajax, and 112 Athena command versions. Why are there so many commanders and so few combat vehicles. Speaks to a bloated senior officer class.
to work with other vehicles such as the challenger, boxer and infantry regiments
@Alpha_0ne276 the boxer ALSO has loads of command vehicles. there's far too many bosses and not enough fightwrs.
Can It survive a fpv drone tho
no ATGMs, thing will get melted by everyone elses missiles
Ajax takes javlin missile.
Its gun can penetrate anything it may encounter, short of the frontal arc of a modern MBT.
Yes the Ajax has had it's teething issues and delays but its perfect for what the British army need and that cannon on the ajax is just amazing, I would say they should look at installing a fixed anti tank missile system to ajax if it does encounter heavy amour just like the Bradley and CV90.
It takes Javlin
Where's the one with 250mm homing rounds that first try to persuade the enemy to surrender in 75 languages? 🙂
but how does it hold up against a $50 drone with a grenade strapped to it
The MOD has contracted that solution out to Acme, and will be receiving repaired trampolines for that one once the shipment can be made from W.E.Coyote.
Its an updated warrior. And an absolute waste of money. Clowns that we have become
