It’s Kia from Hairitage93 and from where we left off, I decided it was time to get back to the basics and start fresh. Now the party did get a little crazy, but I’m here to give you guys an update on how the girls are coming along. And ya know, in the weeks after my nail chop, I messed up big time 😣
I was doing some cleaning work-and used super strong chemicals without protective rubber gloves. So what happened? My dominant hand was shooketh and resultantly could not hold it together. Every nail on my right hand had started peeling, chipping and getting soft on me for making a rookie mistake, except little pinky. She held it down for the count.

You have naturally strong, thick nails. A little extra care is all you need to get them to stop peeling or chipping. I, however, have very thin, brittle nails. Nothing, and I mean nothing, helps my nails. The worst thing to do for thing, brittle nails is to put any kind of polish on them. Polish sucks any moisture there might be out of the nail and makes them even more brittle. I’ve watched hundreds of nail videos. I’ve tried hundreds of nail care products, oils, polishes, you name it and I still have horrible nails. They have been this way all my life, so, I have finally accepted that I will never have long nails. So, now I message coconut oil into my nails every night before I go to bed. This makes them not look dry and it makes me cuticles nice and healthy. And, I keep my nails very short and bare. They are short, but they look healthy and no chipping or peeling. Some of us just are not blessed with nice nails and we have to accept that.

@@raindrops2237 so u take a multivitamin and a calcium iron n vit d tablet ?
@@kirannathani9079 yes . The 1st thing I take in the morning is 1 multivitamin each morning WITH The iron pill separate from the calcium. I wait about 4 hours to then start taking the calcium the reason is because calcium and iron should not be mixed the body will not absorb it properly. (You can verify that with any doctor) and then I take 2 to 3 pills of calcium 500mg each daily through out the day . I take them 4 hours apart so the body can absorb them better (that's what my doctors have told me) and the vitamin D 1 pill daily of 2000 IU . It's best to take the vitamin D with 1 of the calcium pills the vitamin D helps the body absorb the calcium better. I know it's a lot but it's our health and if we put unhealthy things in our bodies like some unhealthy food among other things then we can make the effort of also trying to heal it with supplements that we DO need.

I bought that same glass nail file from Sally's Beauty Supply, and found out it wasn't genuine. I had the same problem with it not working. I bought a genuine glass nail file from Amazon and that thing works wonders! I can definitely tell the difference!

You're very blessed that you have very nice shaped natural nails - long nail beds and long nail plates, so they look a bit long even when they are hardly over the free edge.
Mine look like little horrors, plus they are very soft, got ridges going down the nail, and every time I try to grow them even a fraction of an inch, they crack on the ridges going up the nail.
I give up, just got crappy nails! Tired of the struggle!

Ohh I like the idea of using JBCO. Going to try that. My right pointer and thumb just haven’t seemed to want to grow much past the edge. They have both been breaking over and over for the last few months

tysm, like I got fake nails and they made my nails very brittle, so then I got the powder being told it would harden them but now I just took the powder off and it was brittle once again so I put some castor oil on and it feels as strong as a fake nail!

I have the same glass file. It's odd that yours lost grit. Mine is still perfect, even after a year of use. Just tapped off the dust between nails, and rinsed after each use. I'm thinking you may have just gotten a bad file, because the ASP glass file, is heaven sent.

Castor oil is great for the skin, but I doubt it’s absorbed by your nails. If you have to wash it off, there’s either too much on it it’s just sitting on top of your nails.
SCSilk Actually natural nails will absorb some of the oil because nails are porous. The oil will also soften the cuticles and skin around and under the nails
Coconut oil works great. Rub it into the nail and cuticle.

Any problems ever with some nails curling and/or being like flat on one side? All I’m finding about curling says clubbing so idk.
Could be nutritional deficiencies, it may be a long shot but I feel like that one sided curling has lessened for me when I got blood tests taken and got a prescription for iron and D vitamin.

Using a jojoba-based nail oil several times a day will help fix your hangnails.
Are you in a dry climate? Do you work with cloth or paper? Do you wash your hands 30+ times a day? These can exacerbate hangnails, too.

For me i have noticed tht no matter wht i do if i use nail polish my nails become so weak n break easily, so i stopped using it even tho i still use harsh chemicals for household cleaning but still my nails are stronger thn before, longer n looks 100% healthier maybe nail polishes are not for me.

Can i use almond oil?
I made a combo of moringa, argan, baobab, evening primrose and Vit E oils. I put them in a dark dropper bottle, a drop on each nail at night massage it in. Doing this at night I think works best because it's repairing over night.

The things you put in your hair shouldn’t be strong enough to damage your nails, just make sure you have nail polish on and are careful while your nails are wet, because water makes them too bendy.
