    This seems to be a well made tonneau cover. This is installed on my personal truck and I would recommend it to a friend. Who else has one of these and how is it holding up?

    I have had four BAKFlip MX4 Tonneau Covers and they have all be excellent. My first one had the rod clips like yours does the three since have had rod clips like the undercover Tonneau Cover had in your other video. I have not had any issues with my BAKFlip MX4 Tonneau Covers outside of the first one having the rod clips that did not hold the rods in place.

    Can you tell me how tall the cover is from the rail when folding? I want to use a dethloff mfg roof rack but want to make sure it can fold and clear my rack and tent.

    Great video! Thanks for the info! Curious what the bed width is after install. I have to carry 4x8 sheets frequently and with out any bed cover i only have a few inches of side to side clearance. Would this reduce the bed with below 4ft?

    • @Ryder_In_Motion
      @Ryder_In_Motion  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The plates that the cover latches to stick out about an inch on either side. The distance between the two is almost exactly 48 inches. I don't think it would interfere with hauling a couple sheets (assuming you'd do that with the tail gate up) but it might be close. Laying them in the bed won't be an issue. I also have the Ram cargo management system. Not sure if that impacts the width in this case or not.

    You find much use out of the Rambox? I'm looking for a new truck and was thinking of getting a Ram with them

    I had my MX4 for about five years and was very happy with it on my f150. I recently went with the revolver X4S on my ram 2500 and it’s been nice, but I ran into some issues with it, so I’m now switching it out for an MX4. I’m curious about the rain management system, this is the first time I’ve ever seen it drain at the tailgate side of the truck. Usually the drains go out to the cab side of the truck,. Was this because of the ram boxes?

    • @Ryder_In_Motion
      @Ryder_In_Motion  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure why they drain in the back. I had it installed (install was free from the place I bought it). I thought that was a bit odd as well. I haven't had an issue with it and I haul stuff under the cover pretty frequently.

      See mine 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road drain tubes are at the back of the cab on each side and I e got a 5ft bed. So I'm guessing yeah with his truck it has to do with the storage boxes and the way it was designed I'm guessing. Or maybe a installer error or something or didn't know if you can do both ways

    • @Ryder_In_Motion
      @Ryder_In_Motion  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chaddelucenay4805 Mine has drain tubes in both the front and back for the bed. I have also have a spare set of non-drain tube end caps. Looks like the installer choose to put drain tubes at both ends. That's okay by me. If I ever damage the end by the tail gate, I can put the non-draining end caps on and just have it drain at the cab end.

      I have been considering this cover for my Tacoma but I have concerns about rain water getting into the bed. Does your cover keep the bed dry when it rains?

    • @Ryder_In_Motion
      @Ryder_In_Motion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stevenm4743 @Chad Delucenay Mine works pretty good but it’s not perfect. Recently drove for many hours in the rain with Christmas presents in the back. Nothing got wet, but the wrapping paper felt damp and had small wrinkles in it. So no pooling water, but definitely moisture gets in. Hopefully Chad will weigh back in with experience on his Tacoma.

    I'm pleased with mine. I do lubricate the cables and track with silicone lube spray.

    • @Ryder_In_Motion

      No problems on mine. However, the seals can get "folded" when you open the ramboxes. If that happens, and I don't straighten them out, it doesn't seal as well.

    I have this cover on my 2500 RamBox. Complete waste of money, it has leaked like a sieve since new. Completely useless. Professionally installed by a certified backflip dealer. Spend the money, get a diamondback cover, or, arrive at your destination with all your stuff soaked. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    My backflip max 4 the drain holes are mounted towards the cab not near the tailgate. I don't know if there's a reason why ours are in different areas not really sure. But mines about the same with the water I how ever don't have to worry about shimmy or anything like that. I just fold down and go. I do agree on the road part they do pop off sometimes of you lay the cover back flat down or hit a bump but other than that I sorta move the clip thing that holds the rods in place different positions and don't really have a problem with that. I do like how much weight you cms put on top of them when lid is down which I haven't had stuff to weigh that much. Most is about 50lb bag of feed. Other than that I was thinking of it and a retractable one glad I went with this for many of reasons and there's pros and cons. I definitely knew o didn't want a cap or camper shell or a hard shell cover I wanted more low profile style. I got mine through truckhero.com through a company here in Kentucky that sells there products and again I love my BackFlip Max 4 alot with some pros and cons basically you mentioned a few. I didn't have as many cons as you did. Great choice you got there I had excellent reviews and comments on mine. My cover is currently mounted on a 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4 short bed 5ft bed which comes out too 5-foot bed (length/width/height): 60.5/41.5/19.1 inches. over all excellent video and I think I've had mine for almost year now. Let me know what you think about yours after you had yours longer and more of the pros cons.

      Mine has the drain tubes at both the front and back. Not sure why the installer did both, but it seems to work. I still need to figure out a better way to retain those bars...maybe that's my next video idea. :)
