    Thanks for the video. very helpful. I have a lot of Ryobi tools and I like this trimmer better than the 18v trimmer. Both are a pain with the single string hole. Hopefully this model (trash picked) can be changed to use the Reel Easy head. Like the 40v mower. For my lawn the single battery model works fine. I run thru 2 40v batteries doing the front, side, and back yards.

    It's a good trimer but I do agree with him. It gets a bad wrap when compared to the competition. You put a 6ah HP battery in one and it's an absolute beast! The pole saw, tiller and edger perform well. Also you don't need to stick with Ryobi for your attachments. Charger is crap

    You’re cross threading the oil cap. When you’re putting it on, turn it in the opposite direction to seed it properly and then screw it in. I’ve had two of these both had the same issue and both were solved by the above.

    I have been using the same unit for two seasons. If you adjust the shaft rotation and handle rotation a certain way you can comfortably switch between trimming and edging simply by flipping from trimming to edging. I find that it does an excellent job of edging. Also I have never had an occasion to use the high power setting. Although I can't recommend this it is much easier to edge with the guard removed as you can see what you are doing.

    When I use my “expanding” hose (that’s goes from 50ft to 100ft) for my outside spigots, I hear a thumping sound every time I release the trigger of the hose. My wife says it’s loud inside. Could my water pressure be causing this?

    • @Ryder_In_Motion
      @Ryder_In_Motion 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s definitely something I’d check. I had a similar situation at another house. The pipes would move slightly when the water was turned on and off. I dialed the pressure down a little and added a couple more pipe hangings (pipes were in unfinished basement). That’s helped in my situation. Good luck.

    Two issues not mentioned, it has no chain-brake. That forward hand-guard for your off-hand (left hand for most folks) is just a hand-guard. If there is kick-back, and yes it can happen on _any_ chainsaw, the saw will keep running. Potentially very dangerous. In fairness, that is unfortunately what you'll find on most cord-less electric chainsaws. Not picking on Ryobi. I standardized on the Ryobi platform (batteries and charger designed specifically for Ryobi power-tools) about 3 years back. So far, no issues with the performance of their tools that I personally own. Second issue with this chainsaw are the plastic bumpers. Those should be metal. They're not for aggressively jamming the saw up against a tree and putting your weight on it. Bumpers help to prevent kick-back by putting them right up against a tree limb, and rocking the saw up and down for a much more controlled cut; *without* putting your weight against the saw. Plastic bumpers just aren't durable enough. Metal bumpers are a safety feature. Wish this Ryobi had them.

    • @Ryder_In_Motion
      @Ryder_In_Motion 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Appreciate you weighing in. I agree in both cases. I’ve done a surprising amount with this little saw. Had I known I was going to use it this much, I probably would have look harder at other options for the reasons you outlined. On the flip, it has done everything I asked of it so I still think it’s a great little saw.

    Good review! I have an earlier version of this chainsaw. It runs fine but I cannot stand the fact that the battery runs out so quick. You really need two batteries and they are quite pricey. However for gas saw you have to use ethanol-free gas so there is a hassle Factor regardless.

    Ive got 2 18v leaf blowers and 2 18v trimmers.. the reason is because during sales you essentially get the battery for free when you buy the tool... I figured It would be nice to have a back up tool incase it crapped out... I have yet to have a Ryobi tool die on me... and I have been using these products for over 10 years now... Because of that experience I am about to jump into the 40v system and would assume I would have a similar experience.
