same. jonsi is my biggest inspiration. i'm going to live in iceland in a few years. that place has such a big part in my heart, it's my spiritual home, my true home. i'm beyond thankful and so so happy i get to live there, where i belong.
crushingly beautiful in every way. i wonder if Jonsi knows how much beauty he's brought to us. easily one of the most important voices of the past 20 years.
This is sad but i was in some dark times a few years ago. I had this on repeat while i tried to get the courage ti end my life. Thankfully i got through that in one piece. Unfortunately a month later my father took his own life. He couldnt accept my mother leaving him. It was so bad to see an ex navy seal go from strong and independent,, mentally strong too all the way to a shriveled despairing man on the brink of insanity 😪. Needless to say this song brings up many feelings and memories.
this song hits so deep... will we ever be allowed to be ourselves, without others destroying everything we create? he makes our own little world... safe.
The soundtrack 'Tornado' from the movie 'Disconnect' literally shaped and changed the way I see music, this song is an incredible piece of music and I loved watching every minute of the movie, it was so captivating, reassuring and assertive and raw with the way it had been presented!! I love this song and I have loved it for so long it's ridiculous! Thank you Jónsi for writing such a touching and beautiful song.
Jónsi is the most talented musician I know of. The way he puts the instruments together and the fact that his lyrics are in both Icelandic and English is really admireble. His music is really suspenseful and wonderful, and listening to it in the schoolyard whilst watching everyone around me always gives me the most incredible moments. I know this might sound crazy or even pretentious, but singing a duet with him or at least meeting him is really on my bucket list; Such an inspirational person.
To all the people who have seen the movie Disconnect as well, the whole movie was amazing. Even though I was clenching my jaw, and my back and shoulders were sore from being tense for 2 hours straight. This song is such a perfect choice for the soundtrack. But back to the movie again for a moment, the part in the end, (SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET STOP READING NOW!) where all the different lives "connect" and it's all going down in super slow motion. How beautiful was that?!? I'm a photographer, and I feel like, or my way of constructing and composing photoshoots, the shoot as a whole should read as a short film. It should tell a story. Watching that slow motion scene really inspired me, because I could see all these photographs forming, breaking down the shots into images stopped in time. Yet a great photograph can have lots of motion, even though it's a still, stopped moment in time. I love music, and I've always loved music videos. They are the biggest inspiration to me for my work. Okay, sorry for rambling on here. I'm sure it made no sense to anyone but me. But if you took the time to read it, thanks. xoxo Carrie
***** thank you for the kind words! I found out about Jónsi through Disconnect as well. I was familiar with Sigur Ros already from their work on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack, the nothing song is one of my all time favorites. I really enjoyed (and still do!) the artistic and creative music video/short film for the song Fjögur píanó starring Shia Labeouf. It's out there, but I love that about it. Nothing I expected. Beautiful and full of emotion, just like the music :)
+Carrie Carden After all this time, I watched the movie. Great film, great acting and well played, nice scene we all know, and better, as a fan from Sigur Rós and Jonsi, its nice that it was mentioned in it.
I'm a few years late, but just saw the movie :) That slow mo sequence was, just STUNNING. I completely agree how every moment of the film is incapsulated in the sl mo scenes.
Heard this song from “We Bought a Zoo” years ago and fell in love! The entire album as whole is a masterpiece! Audibly some of the best work I’ve ever had the honor of hearing!
Jonsi is definitely someone special. The eyes are the window to the soul and not once do we see his eyes in this clip, yet we all resonate...what a pure beautiful soul to do this...to shine without a window.
Oh my gosh i was watching the news and this song was in the background when they were talking about some movie and i almost shouted "MOM IT'S JONSI" and she was like "wat" omg made my day
Jónsi - Tornado You grow, you roar Although disguised I know you You'll learn to know You grow, you grow like tornado You grow from the inside Destroy everything through Destroy from the inside Erupt like volcano You flow through the inside You kill everything through You kill from the inside You'll... You'll learn to know I wonder if I'm allowed ever to see I wonder if I'm allowed to ever be free You sound so blue You now are gloom You're now so blue You now are gloom I wonder if I'm allowed just ever to be

Jonsi also sings the song's from DreamWorks " HTTYD / How to train your Dragon" Jonsi sings "Sticks and stones" and Jonsi "Do Go" , "We go where no one goes"
being transgender gave me body dysmorphia+gender dysphoria, which gave me social anxiety, which gave me crippling depression, haven't left the house in years. this song breaks my heart everytime.
I love Jonsi's broken english, and I appreciate the fact that he can hit a vocal register normally reserved for air tools and F1 engines..
I'm real sad that this isn't more popular.
I'm also real happy that I'm one of the people that listens to this.
His voice is so out of this world.
It's like the voice of an angel.
This guy makes my day, every day,
seriously one of the most beautiful songs i had EVER heard in my lifetime, and this ain't even my type of music
this song rips my heart out

it reminds me of my childhood.
crushingly beautiful in every way. i wonder if Jonsi knows how much beauty he's brought to us. easily one of the most important voices of the past 20 years.
This song should bring anyone to tears if they listen to it long enough.
prisoners at guantanamo bay probably cried after listening to Bee gees - stayin' alive for 2 months aswell
i came from his interview with "The Feed" already crying lmao

@@killthemanwhoquestions2827 I hope you feel better in the future. I'm sorry you had to go through that situation.
all december when mom died
this song hits so deep... will we ever be allowed to be ourselves, without others destroying everything we create? he makes our own little world... safe.
Still cannot get over this song. Jonsi is so perfect.
+Luigi Peritamby yes he is

a tribute song for alan rickman - Snape of Harry Potter... Rest in Peace
It makes me sad ... I don't know why, but it feels so lonely and yet melancholic, you know what I mean
I watch this in the summer because it gives me chillllsssssssss.
Heard this song from “We Bought a Zoo” years ago and fell in love! The entire album as whole is a masterpiece! Audibly some of the best work I’ve ever had the honor of hearing!
listening again and again, awesome
Disconnect
This just shows how much of an actual musician he is and how he can be just as good out of the studio as he can be in the studio. Jonsi is my idol!
he deserves all the love and light in this world.
It's weird (in a good way) to hear Jonsi singing in English. I love his accent.
Spoiled Rotten Great Dane he’s from Iceland so he has an accent
