This ship is the source of my favorite con story. Player took a ton of these and flew them in a straight line at the foe. He had upgraded the photon loaders to photon launchers and broadsided the hell out of his enemy devistating them. Oh and the fighters too - so many fighters.
The models are boiled in mineral oil to melt the wax supports. They usually leave this oil on the model as a protective film, so they need to be scrubbed before painting.
Great video. You always do a great job with your framing, focus, etc. Thank you for the kind words in the review. The ship was a labor of love and I'm glad the print turned out so well. Can't wait to see her in primer and paint!
Another great video Jon! Like the carrier. I also like the profiles on the War Destroyer and Battle Cruiser. Great to see Starfleet Battles is still alive!
I would if ADB/Star Fleet Battles would sell the STLs. With the price increases at Shapeways it is just to costly to buy good number of the larger 1/3125 scale. I used to pick up something from Shapeways once a month, with price increases this CVA is the first model I've ordered from them in over a year.
ADB's license with the IP owners does not allow them to sell the STL files (among other restrictions on what they can and can't do). They (and I) are hopeful that some of the emerging print technologies will push Shapeways' pricing down. Shapeways is certainly getting price-pressure from the continuing drop in price for quality home printing equipment.
There are several, all published by Amarillo Design Bureau and all set in the same game-universe setting. Your journey can start here - www.starfleetgames.com/

I love the Fed carrier! The Pleiades Turkey shoot was one of my favorite scenarios.
I remember that one well. I think we played it once over a weekend.

Great vid! Love the flatbed CVA...nothing says 'Federation power projection' quite like it.
Good size mini!
Starfleet Battles...if only people would play it with me lol
Is this something you would consider printing on your new Elegoo Mars?
