You aren't supposed to screw the m.2 in the second slot without putting the heatsink down first and then screwing it through that into the mobo point. There are so many mistakes here that viewers should RTFM instead of following this guide. You also put the ram in the wrong spot and stock cooler with a 10900k? WTF man. This is bad.
Hahaha I know I know! This is something I will be changing very soon! I've got it to 4.6ghz, trying to push it further. Will probably get a Corsair liquid cooler soon.
A clear example of not to believe everything you see on the net, the proper way of installing a CPU on this board is by reading the book, and the first thing the book tells you is NOT to remove the plastic cover of the CPU before you install the CPU, in fact you dont remove the cover, the CPU itself forces the cover up and out once you push in the spring pin that holds the CPU in place..Look it up and dont do it this way, you could damage your brand new board.
@@GeekyStuff yes my friend, you have been doing it for years and you know how to handle those CPUs very well, but the noobies that could be learning from you could screw it up very easy.
I recently used this same motherboard and followed the 2 and 4 configuration (I thought that's what the directions implied). Now after watching the video, I am wondering if I did it wrong. Should it be in 1 and 3? or 2 and 4?
Hello. I got a question about 8+4 PIN CPU Power. I am wondering to use a half of 4+4 from CPU cable for 4 pin slot and 6+2 (PCI-E) for 8 pin slot? Did you do the same connection ? All my previos CPU got only 4 or 4+4 pins near cpu. Thanks for your advice in advance
Few mistakes there buddy, You should be using DIMM slots A2 and B2. You used slots A1 and B1. You left one of the motherboard standoffs in the middle of the board which is why you don't have a stand off on the middle slot of the bottom row. this could be a potential short or cause damage to your board. The third one isn't a show stopper however, if you want to get the best performance out of your M.2 and your Graphics card, you should removed the top M.2 and put that on the bottom of the board. By using M.2_1 the motherboard will lower the PCIEX16_1 slow speed from x8+x4+x4 to x8 (half speed) only since its sharing bandwidth with the M.2 slot. But take note that the SATA slot 5 and 6 will be disables only allowing you 4 usable SATA slots for your SSD's or Hard disks.
are you sure about that last part? i just got like the same motherboard and in the manual for the m.2's (I've never had one so i was reading the whole manual) it only says that m.2_2 will affect pcie16_3 and the m.2_3 will disable sata6g slot 5&6, but as far as I can tell M.2_1, the only thing it says in the user guide is if M.2_1 is operating in SATA mode, Sata6g_2 will be disabled Low key though - have no idea
@@upgoon4015 yes, when you have an M.2 drive in the 3rd slot it disables the SATA6G slots 5 and 6 because they share the same bandwidth. So you can only use M.2 in slot 3 or SATA6G slots 5 and 6 but not both at the same time.
This is wrong about the m.2 drives, there are 2 flavors of m.2, sata and nvme, if you are running all nvme drives all the sata ports will work fine, I have all three m.2 slots in this same motherboard fitted with nvme drives and every single sata port works, it only disables it when you are using a sata m.2. Also the shared bandwidth with the pcie slow is the very bottom slot so you most likely are going to be using that anyway unless you have some crazy triple card setup.
