I'd like to second this! I've been thinking of modifying my RepRap to do very light PCB milling, or building a mini-mill from scratch. For £400 the 2030 looks like it will do everything I would expect from a DIY build, at half the price and a fraction of my time. Your video is really selling it, but I'm still looking for the 'catch'. I'm expecting cheep is cheep, as it were.
What kind of precision can you get in the z-axis (spindle) with this machine? Do you notice any backlash in the linear driver mechanism? I ask because I'm looking at getting one of these for milling PCBs, and in this video it appears that you were cutting a bit deep into the fiber glass. Ideally you would want to just barely cut through the copper layer (increases tool life, and allows finer traces). I do a lot of surface mount work, and I need to be able to mill ~10mil traces, have you had any luck with this.
Well, I have a 0.1mm cutter, so in theory this is the smallest spacing as for the width, I am yet to try to go so small. I guess if the feed rate is reduced it could be an interesting test... I will have a play next weekend!
Nice machine - the milling / drilling code could certainly be optimized. You could probably shave off some significant time but it's probably not worth it for a few prototypes. Nice results! :)
I'm thinking of buying a 3020 and after seeing this I'm very confident that it can handle what I'm wanting it for now! Looks really great...any problems with the machine? Thanks
Hi, great video, could you post your configuration on mach3, I just purchased one of these CNC's and it moves a lot slower than yours. I think I may need more information on the settings.
Hi... good job. What Spindle Motor did you use? Could you give me some tech information about it and it power supply (watts, rmp, amperes, voltage, etc.) please.... Thanks
I just got the CNC machine a week ago same model as yours using MACH 3 . I just can't figure out how to get from point A-B. Using Eagle with the ulp script and there seems to be a configuration issue as nothing seems to work. I can move the x y z on CNC. Do you have a step by step guide from start to finish eagle to cnc configurations . Soft limits common setup. Or if we can use team viewer to see my config.
Well, This week, I have to etch somes pcb`s, I can make you step by step video , to how use the eagle and script UPL. and some tips to do that well or to try to do this well, the unique problem is the language, but I sure you can solve this.
Joseluis Jaramillo Mujica Yep me too. I bought the 6040 model...and i have NO idea where to begin. I just need a step by step demonstration from placing the wood on the platform, finding zero - loading my digital file and cutting away. Any help is infinitely appreciated! I am going be using DeskProto, although I do have Mach 3 that was included with it.
May I inquire as to the source,...Ebay or USA perhaps? I am pricing these at present, and I have seen some very high prices for the 3020's, similar to the cost I would expect to incur for a 6040!! Surely supply exceeds demand these days :-) Nice little PCB you have produced. I would love to be able to create rather than buy from OSHPark. The time factor alone
will the drill be running all the time ? i got 3020 model and i think that the controller has a problem, when turned on the steppers have signal they are hard to move, but cant move them with the arrows also the drill is off all the time , any help
I bought this same exact machine... I just recently got the motor/axis to start working but the x-axis rail seems to get stuck at times. Does anyone know if this can be fixed or should I just return this machine?
Can anybody tell me where I can get the "Y" axis lead screw for this machine? Mine machine was sent to me with a bent lead screw. If anyone could please help me. I would appreciate it. I have look everywhere for one.
I have etched boards in 2 minutes. But there's some tricks to getting it to go that fast. You need to heat the bath, and aerate it. Now what were you saying about it saving time?
Dennis Peacock You're on a mission here I see. Looks like you went out and looked for any videos of this CNC 3020T and you post the same comment. Do you sell CNC machines or something and are trying to sabotage the Chinese vendors.
interesting video for those that knows how to go about the spacing and width. well done
I remember my first time working with tape. :)

You have a green cutting board on your desk... Use a damn exacto to cut the tape! 😉

Hello. Thanks for the video. What is the minimum trace width and isolation that you recommend to do?

Excellent video!
Is this the 3020Z machine?
Nice router. Very cool video.
Nice! What's the trace width and spacing? How fine can it realistically cut?
Hi... good job. What Spindle Motor did you use? Could you give me some tech information about it and it power supply (watts, rmp, amperes, voltage, etc.) please.... Thanks
You could cut copper sheets approximately
how thick did you cut into the material and what bit did u use
Hi,
Can you share your PCB-GCode configuration?
I can't get it to work right.
Thanks! great job.
So what did you use to create the file? Does Mach3 import gerber files from PCB layout software?
Thanks!
can you make more pictures for me? I am thinking about this model 3020... wanna buy it...
can you please share the tool bits information and the pcb gcode settings of your work.

Joseluis Jaramillo Mujica Well I have got it figured out now. Thanks for the help though!
+king shaman I have the same problem, how did you solve it?
+Damjanhd
inbox me your email and i can send you screen shots of my Mach 3 diagnostics. I am using Vectric software, and it works great!
wow. this sure beats doing it by hand on a mill

Did you Plug it in ?!?!?
*Will *time? *I *have the *I *but *I *can't *, *?
William Trammell you should work at Grammarly
I bought this same exact machine... I just recently got the motor/axis to start working but the x-axis rail seems to get stuck at times. Does anyone know if this can be fixed or should I just return this machine?
what is the spindle power 300W or 500W
Прикольно а как вы делали рисунок платы ?

+Guadalupe Alvarado (loopster) just order another trapezoid screw.or better yet order a ballscrew.
+Yuuki1942 I am trying to find the damn thing man. I know I need one. That's one thing. Another is finding it.
+Yuuki1942 You can not go on eBay and just find them. It's not that easy. Believe me.
+Guadalupe Alvarado try searching on aliexpress
WHAT is price of this machine
WHAT is your name?
WHAT is your Quest?
WHAT is your favorite color?
Some the problems about this machine, is the mechanical wear of the motor brushes. If anybody know where buy this, I appreciate the information.
these normally are stepper motors...no brushes!
Хорошие ножницы и острая отвёртка
thanks for video!
Pekné, ale nieje nad foto cestu pomocou fólií pr. i od čínskych dodávateľov....
I do not see any raeson why you should use a milling machine to cut a circuit when there are so many easy and cheaper ways.
Tks.
It save the time if you try chemical way.
I have etched boards in 2 minutes. But there's some tricks to getting it to go that fast. You need to heat the bath, and aerate it. Now what were you saying about it saving time?
I think you need better scissors :p
the screwdriver at the end cuts better than the scissors :v
I need help with setup, can we email or call eachother?
SUPER SIR
que inútil para cortar jaja
i bought one of thous china cnc machines what a piece of crap

William Cornett, PMP no i dont sell cnc machings i just hate being fucked
roger dat
You must be doing it wrong. Because I can see it working here.
you dont have to believe me try one and find out for yourself
