At least now there WAS a 90/DVT London/Birmingham service This train is soon to come to an end I am afraid, when it will be allocated only to the Friday Preston Relief service.

progress is progress & the railways have to move on... as long as some loco's diesel, electric & HST's survive as many as possible & in mainline service.. we will always have some to admire... fingers crossed.

and the old Loco hauled trains had a sensible first class/ Standard class balence. The Pendolino's always have hardly anyone in the first class and people standing in Standard.

The ECML (GNER/NXEC/EC) has 91s and HSTS great classic 'traction', the MML has the HST and the 222 (Much better version of the Voyager) and the WCML has the 390s and 221s, very inferior in every aspect to the other 2 north/south main lines. At least now there is a 90/DVT London/Birmingham service
