im upset that i never noticed you posting before. i subtitled a friends 2 mimute video once and it took me roughly an hour of grinding it out. so seriously mad respect for the subs, i have them turned on about 80 percent of the time im watching youtube so i do noticr and appreciate them. great job btw, its NOT easy to get them so well timed
@@BloodDripss Oh yeah, this video was a BEAST to tackle. In total it took me around 8 hours of work to transcribe, edit, and then plug into the video and do my fine-tuning. Don't get me wrong, it's a LOT of fun, but after shrimping over my laptop for four hours, I was definitely exhausted. So worth it though, I've gotten so much positive feedback from the community and it just makes me happy. Thanks so much for your words, I'm so happy that others find my captions helpful ♥ Edit: I should mention the "four hours" were actually working on the subs that were on the video. The four hours prior to that were cutting the script and editing the words against the final audio that Drew would use in his video. Collectively it was like three sessions of working on it.
I was looking for video essays to listen to in the background while I worked. And then I noticed the subs. And did not look away the entire video. They were absolutely perfect, loved the additions. Both of you are great, I loved this video so much
Perfect. No notes. I mean professional quality video essay type shit. If you did this by yourself, I am floored. The scripting, the sound design, the audio and video editing are all top notch. Not to mention excellent choice of subject matter here - an obscure angle on something familiar. Amazing.

The item at 21:44 I have, well my sister had that and I inherited it when she stopped using her DS. I think I can try to unburry it from the depths of my parents place sometime, but it was a nifty item that was great to take around. The rubber case which was a shell for the ds was real comfy at the time, although I dont want to think about how degraded its become now after years of not being used. I can confirm it came with a car charger, those cheap screen protectors, the pen DS stylus, the strap for the DS charm spot, the game cart protectors, and real shitty headphones that were the coolest things to wear, all would fit inside the lunchbox in their little pre-cut foam sections

One thing that wasn't mentioned on the stream that I really appreciate is the level of effort you put into your subtitles - I usually have to have subs on to really absorb the information being said, so I always love it when the creators make sure that their subs are accurate and descriptive

I would happily watch a good deal of these video documentaries from you. The editing quality is already fantastic and very much the standard of many popular TH-camrs. And in the beginning when you said a something along the lines of "now to the actual point of the video which is the merch of nintendogs" it kinda hit as a shock to me because I was enjoying the commentary you were giving so much and the content/editing you were displaying that I forgot why I clicked on this vid on the first place which shows you really know how to hook someone (well imo at least haha) Happy that ya sent in your video to JJJacksfilms so that I could watch and enjoy such an entertaining vid :DDD

this video totally itches my brain thank you so much for making it. i was a massive nintendogs fan as a child when i got it as my first DS game and seeing all these products threw me back. i had the rose ds lite with the pawprint on it, the german shepard cuddly pup plush, a trick trainer plush (cant remember the breed) and a nintendogs DS holder. im honestly sure there were more im forgetting, i was obsessed lol. i had no idea how undocumented some of them were so this was really cool to see. plus you got a great editing style and sense of humor, need to see more vids like these!!

I’m so happy that he added subtitles, I can’t hear that well (something’s wrong with my ears it’s getting fixed but it’s hard to hear) so when videos have subtitles I’m very happy.

At 3:47, while you were taking a moment coming to grips that Nintendogs came out a year before the DS Lite, I had to pause the video to relive all the fond memories of playing the game on my brick of a Nintendo original DS when it first released. I even had one of those slightly squishy DS skins that was Nintendogs themed plastered on it for a few years. Even to this day, I still got that grey brick and it works just as good as the day I got it. It comes in handy when my nostalgia for the few GBA games I still have hits me like a freight train. Neat video. I'm glad Jack took the time to review it.
Came here from jjjacksfilms and I have to say I LOVE IT! Editing is great and hearing a guy rant for 20 minutes about a favourite childhood game was just *perfection*
So I had one of the DS skins that I got for Christmas from a relative. I don’t remember if it had a dog on it I think it was like a bunch of paws? Idk it was forever ago. They were awful but not because they bubbled. Mine actually never did that but it did something exponentially way more annoying imo. The skins (at least the one I had) had like a raised effect. But eventually the raised plastic part’s glue would wear down and start to separate from the photo sticker layer. Leaving behind eventually an ugly faded sticker on your DS. I found it ugly in that state so I removed it only to find the adhesive for the sticker was so over powered and sticky it left residue all over my DS. I was pretty poor growing up so my annoyed single mom had to buy goo be gone to get it off and spent like an hour doing so. She told me I was never allowed to get anything like that for me DS ever again. Can’t blame her.
I love the tiny jokes and footnotes in your captions. With my SPD I need the captions and it makes me feel a tiny bit special to be in on a joke. I'm glad you submitted your video to Jack's Creator Bingo, because your content seems to be right up my alley

Never played these as a kid because I didn't like dogs, but I did have a game from a knockoff franchise called "Petz: My Kitten Family". It had feeding and some very retro looking 3d environments. there was also an area locked behind a code, never knew what to do with that. It had a breeding system too, but any kids just looked like either one of the parents, so I eventually hit the cat limit with a bunch of nearly identical looking silver tabbys
I once saw some kind of Nintendogs stylus in one of those gumball vending machines type of things for maybe 2€ in Germany. Back then I couldn’t buy it, I was too broke 😂😂 but I don’t know if it was official merch :/

Thanks to this video, I now know that my beloved childhood plushie- that I still have and adore to this day, he helps with my anxiety- is a nitendog bean plushie. Oddly, I don't remember him ever having a tag on his collar or anything in his ear, but I was literally still an infant when i got him so my parents or grandparents may have taken them to prevent a choking hazard. Anyway the bean plushies are a five outta five from me and I thank you for this information

this video totally itches my brain thank you so much for making it. i was a massive nintendogs fan as a child when i got it as my first DS game and seeing all these products threw me back. i had the rose ds lite with the pawprint on it, the german shepard cuddly pup plush, a trick trainer plush (cant remember the breed) and a nintendogs DS holder. im honestly sure there were more im forgetting, i was obsessed lol. i had no idea how undocumented some of them were so this was really cool to see. plus you got a great editing style and sense of humor, need to see more vids like these!!
I saw this on the jacksfilms stream, but the algorithm also put this in my feed all on its own! And I’m glad, because I did want to watch this! Such a great ride.
I’m so happy that he added subtitles, I can’t hear that well (something’s wrong with my ears it’s getting fixed but it’s hard to hear) so when videos have subtitles I’m very happy.

At 3:47, while you were taking a moment coming to grips that Nintendogs came out a year before the DS Lite, I had to pause the video to relive all the fond memories of playing the game on my brick of a Nintendo original DS when it first released. I even had one of those slightly squishy DS skins that was Nintendogs themed plastered on it for a few years. Even to this day, I still got that grey brick and it works just as good as the day I got it. It comes in handy when my nostalgia for the few GBA games I still have hits me like a freight train.

Came here from jjjacksfilms and I have to say I LOVE IT! Editing is great and hearing a guy rant for 20 minutes about a favourite childhood game was just *perfection*
So I had one of the DS skins that I got for Christmas from a relative. I don’t remember if it had a dog on it I think it was like a bunch of paws? Idk it was forever ago. They were awful but not because they bubbled. Mine actually never did that but it did something exponentially way more annoying imo. The skins (at least the one I had) had like a raised effect. But eventually the raised plastic part’s glue would wear down and start to separate from the photo sticker layer. Leaving behind eventually an ugly faded sticker on your DS.
I found it ugly in that state so I removed it only to find the adhesive for the sticker was so over powered and sticky it left residue all over my DS. I was pretty poor growing up so my annoyed single mom had to buy goo be gone to get it off and spent like an hour doing so. She told me I was never allowed to get anything like that for me DS ever again. Can’t blame her.
I love the tiny jokes and footnotes in your captions. With my SPD I need the captions and it makes me feel a tiny bit special to be in on a joke.

Never played these as a kid because I didn't like dogs, but I did have a game from a knockoff franchise called "Petz: My Kitten Family". It had feeding and some very retro looking 3d environments. there was also an area locked behind a code, never knew what to do with that. It had a breeding system too, but any kids just looked like either one of the parents, so I eventually hit the cat limit with a bunch of nearly identical looking silver tabbys

Thanks to this video, I now know that my beloved childhood plushie- that I still have and adore to this day, he helps with my anxiety- is a nitendog bean plushie. Oddly, I don't remember him ever having a tag on his collar or anything in his ear, but I was literally still an infant when i got him so my parents or grandparents may have taken them to prevent a choking hazard. Anyway the bean plushies are a five outta five from me and I thank you for this information
