I have a 1988 mustang GT with a Rockford fosgate punch hx2 15 inch. had it in a sealed box for long time then went to slot port box I made. it's louder, the bass isn't as tight as sealed but still have to do some adjusting. but I like the ported slot better. EXO keep it up been watching you videos for awhile, always good things to know.
Bray's truck is hittin harder than Kimbo Slice. He did an excellent job bringin em off the trailer and a fantastic job slippin the clutch. Y'all gotta get his starter shimmed up. Y'all whuppin his flywheel ring gear.
great job think you went a bit crazy with a triple baffle for one sub but i guess better to build to strong then to weak

Ahh gutted! Nice vid, I'm getting two heavy 15"s, would have been interesting to see how the single 15 was doing. But even so, trying to juggle editing and building and all the rest must be extremely labour intensive, love it keep it going Exo, from the UK.

Should invest in a full size table saw and extend the table with an ad on table, make things go fast if you're always building boxes.

Yo dude i would highly suggest when cutting and using a 6 foot level is to use a rafter/speed square to make sure youre truely square. Just incase the lumber ends arent truely squared.
so was it the ct sounds 1400 that you had, that he ended up using? those amps are so bad ass. i got 2 4k ct's on my hdc4 18's. love'm.
Sick builds. I got a 12 1000w rms sub in a 35L sealed box. I wanted to try a 60L ported but my amp has no subsonic filter. Is there anyway round this. I dont want to damage anything but would like to try a bigger box if pos. If you got time to advise would be appreciated ;) Thanks

hey exo is really impressive from you to do all that great works and I have a question , I built a big subwoofer's box from CT sounds models and I put 2 pioneer 12"/ 1400 w dual coil with one punch 3500 w amplifier but I don't get that good bass . what you think is the problem ?

I try this wiring before and is Gd but for my situation and the amp I have is more better to connect ( +to - ) and the other ( + and - ) connect to amp ( bridge ) and the bass is good but not that loud for two woofer , I think the problem is or the box or the amp
i think the problem is that you have no idea what your doing....

not knocking your box building adventure at all exo " but " regardless of what the manufacturer or some software program says the dimensions of the subwoofer box should be " it's a rule of thumb that if you go smaller you may lose some " boom " but the lower tighter deeper bass is what you really are looking for in that truck " I would assume ??? A box that was shorter in height by 8 inches and partially sealed in the inside middle of the box ( internally ) with a port chamber between the sun area and the open side would get the job done ! remember " Bose sound laboratories " has several designs like this to increase lower tighter bass while reducing the physical size of the subwoofer enclosure " or speaker enclosure !! just saying man !! and yeah I'm old school " I have seen a lot and had ( have ) many systems and amplifiers ! keep up the good work and as always you live and learn " don't be afraid to try different things ! 2 rockford fosgate single voice coil 10 inch 4 ohm subwoofers ( prime series ) in separate wedge type behind the seat small enclosure carpeted boxes in a small pickup truck and their thinking it's 15's and a thousand watt amp !! It's not what you got but what you can do with it ! the amp driving those rockford's ?? an old Jensen power 900.1 " yeah really " it's like that !!

I have a ported subwoofer in a non ported box I was given. should I port the box cuz there is a rattle at loud volume and I think its the dome being pushed out cuz the air cant escape am I right in thinking this
fried coil(over heated), and air leak. silicone sub's in the enclosure. secure loose wires.
bass test, retune amp at flat rate, filtered and then the head unit.

depending on the apline it may have not been 1 ohm stable i know alpine can be very picky especially the ones with auto turn on by the RCAS
That’s a really thick face. May I please ask, is there any reason to think the subs will heat up a lot quicker because of the sides of the speaker being blocked off by the mdf face? Is there any way around this like recessing the subwoofer or something?

i ported my box there pounding hard as hell but can adjust ports smaller by adding one layer at a time i have to be doing a 140 or higher and cant find anybody local with a decible meter that reads over 130 db i pegged that last time someone tried feels like the floor is slapping bottoms of my feet now and dash is moving hard so getting somewhere jst giving it a try its only wood
that stinks the footage got lost. Im building a box for my 2 nvx15's right now. cant wait for a before and after.Its pretty loud in the sealed box, but ported is louder.

It's already been mentioned but I do wonder what load was on that alpine m240 amp when she played up. It'll do 1 ohm but will not be happy about it, 1500@4ohm, 2400+@2ohm, 1000@1ohm

Which CT Sounds amp do you use and are they better than the Skar amps?

use hornresp, is way the best program.
go to input wizard then loudspeaker wizard and you can slide all the parameters and see the curves changing in real time
o and use the rms power of your driver otherwise you see curves of 1 watt

Keep in mind, in Maine you see people walking around in shorts when there's snow on the ground, so it's probably only like 60 degrees there but EXO is shirtless and sweating.

Triple or even double baffle is really unnecessary with the sub being mounted so close to 3 walls of the box. I'd just put one vertical brace on the side that's not supported by the walls and honestly that is probably not necessary because 3 walls are going to provide a ton of support. You could gain quite a bit of box volume and save wood. Tbh I think bracing makes the box stiffer/stronger than layered walls anyways, especially factoring in weight and plywood savings.
I also find using pine or birch 3/4" plywood is much nicer to work with, stiffer, and lighter weight than MDF. You can get the plywood wet a bit and it doesn't get ruined either lol. Haven't used MDF in years. Be careful of splinters though!

Hi, I’ve been watching for years, thank you for all of your videos through the years, I hope you’re in good health. I had a question about building a ported box on a space saving budget. I don’t have much room to work with, and wanting to do a ported box with two 10 with the baffle angled(I believe 4th order box) I’m wanting to make the box 10(H) 18(D) and 47 inches long. I have to angle the baffle back to get the sub to fit in a box that’s only 10inches tall. I am trying to possibly port through the back package tray of a 1965 impala. Is this a box nightmare waiting to happen?? Thank you for any help.

I have a single 12 that will be getting 1400w rms so I'm thinking I should double up on the front baffle but what about the rest of the box, will 1 inch mdf be enough?
One inch is fine with a double baffle on a single 12" box . 2-3 cubes and it will be strong AF
