I lost my job on my 2nd day because I refused to sign the company's DEI policy saying I would make the company's DEI policies a part of my personal life. I told them I would obey the policy, enforce the rules, and follow all policies and procedures, but that I would not change who I was. They said it wasn't good enough. I told them I was a Catholic and I couldn't accept it. The two HR people said, "Oh, we're Christians too, and you know what Jesus said about not judging." I finished that line of scripture for them, and I pray for them to wake up to the deception they're living in.

The idea that Jesus is somehow silent on homosexuality lies in the idea that Jesus is somehow separate from God. He is God. He is the one that _gave_ the old testament laws to begin with. He doesn't need to affirm it explicitly, because, by His divinity, He is the one that gave it in the first place. It's like if someone wrote a treatise on something, signed it, and then said out loud "I approve of this, entirely". No duh, but apparently when God does the same thing, people don't seem to be able to understand it.

    • @trafalgarlaw8373
      @trafalgarlaw8373 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@anthonymarimpietri8409 There's a variety of times. For one is the general fact that the isrealites had slaves throughout the entire old testament, and god never corrected it or scolded them. He said stuff like being nice to specifically jew slaves, but that's still far from banning slavery.
Then there's stuff like Numbers 31, where god explicitly orders the massacre of a city, women and kids included... except the virgin girls of course, who they took as property and could marry. God himself divides them up as spoils like the rest of the loot.
And then of course, Leviticus 25:44-46: “‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly."
Very explicitly allows slavery and even instructs which way god likes it done. And then all jesus says about it is for slaves to obey their masters. Pro-slavery christians used the bible to justify slavery, and by the bible they're correct.

In fact, Jesus may indirectly talk about homosexuality. When blaming Capernaum for its lack of faith, he says : "But I tell you that on the day of judgment it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom than for you” (Mt 11:24). It means that Capernaum's sin is SO BIG that EVEN Sodom's sin (probably homosexuality), which beats everything, will be judged less severely. It's a way to say that Sodom's sin was seen in Israel as the biggest sin ever, the worst reference you could get in a common comparison.

Well done! I can usually tell when a person hasn't read the Bible when they say, "Jesus never said anything about homosexuality" or "the word homosexuality wasn't added to the Bible until the 1900s."
While they are technically correct, they are functionally incorrect. Jesus affirms heterosexual marriage only, and by that, he excludes all else. In Matthew's Gospel that you quoted, he does so in two ways.
"For this reason a MAN (not a woman)
Will leave his FATHER (man) and MOTHER (woman)
and be united to his WIFE (not a man)"
And so here we have it: a man marries a woman after he leaves the household where his parents were a man and a woman who were married. Two examples in the positive for what marriage is.
Jesus doesn't have to make a list 500 lines long of all the things this passage EXCLUDES to know God's will for marriage. That would be the negative view of what marriage is NOT. Rather, he states what is godly marriage in the positive. Marriage is THIS, he says. Nothing else. It is only sinful man who tries to find exceptions in silence. Or as we say, "trying to weasel out on a technicality."

That argument Is weak due to the fact that Jesus is talking about a man leaving his family and a family consist in a man and woman as parent. Because we all come here from a man and a woman. And when that man leaves his family to join a woman to be one. Does not expedite the meaning of a man and a woman in union but the union of a couple being one. For marriage is the becoming of one person under the eye of god. Just because he didn’t say same sex doesn’t mean that was the point he was trying to make but his speech was more towards the actual unification of two beings becoming one. Would you say a gay couple married and become one under gods eye would that be wrong? Would Jesus call that’s sinful. If he would, then why were those individuals born gay? Everyone who agrees to the video follow the context that being gay is a choice and it is not. It is scientifically proven not to be a choice. I can pull up articles or you can ask chat gpt but they would say the same that it’s not. So I being born gay a sin? Is being married to same sex a sin ?
Yoh can say he said a man and a woman but if you read the scripture he not really talking about the individual that are getting married but the actual marriage himself.
I am a Christian and I think that most Christian believe that being gay is a sin but I don’t think god would make someone sinful since those individuals are born like that….

Jesus told the woman caught in adultery (paraphrasing) "Does no one condemn you, neither do I , go and sin no more" Jesus condemns the sin, forgives the sinner, but tells us not to sin again. We want those in habitual sin to be free of their sin so they can go to heaven. Those who die in sin, don't go to heaven. This is a sin that can prevent a person from heaven. May God Bless you 🙏

Really, this is a good argument to turn to Leviticus calling Jesus a right-winger when it comes to the law? This is not even close to the truth.
Jesus said nothing about slavery so in 1820 a southern USA slaveholder would be a good Catholic then and today? No! It is a fact that the Catholic church evolved on the issue of slavery and they are evolving on the issue of homosexuality. Yes, you orthodox people, religion, even the Catholic Church evolves. This must be taken into account. I can picture Trent making a video in 1820 for a Catholic defense of slavery, I will look for it later ...
What did Jesus say about love and the law?
The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark Chapter 12)
“The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.” John Chapter 8 (stop throwing stones!)
Jesus asked, "If one of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?". (Mathew, Chapter 12, well so much for a strict interpretation of Leviticus!)
This divorce discussion is irrelevant, when you divorce people are hurt, it is a termination. A termination is the opposite of a union, a consensual union.
The only thing he really explicitly said was taboo was being rich. So Jesus cared more about sharing your wealth than sexual morals. Trent show me your pocketbook so I know you are a good Christian.
      Mathew Chapter 19
Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother, and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.]”
“All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
Stop judging your neighbor, throwing stones, following the "Law" strictly. To follow Him you MUST show compassion (with actions, words, money) to everyone. The Catholic Church will get there some day on this homosexual issue just as they have with slavery and the scientific theories related to creation.

@bleepblo The laws being questioned here are those related to homosexuality. But of course slavery during that time was different to slavery like those suffered by the Africans. You should consider the context. Bondsman or slaves during the time if Moses were usually pagans and acquired from battles. Their faith depends on circumstances. But for the most part, they were allowed to live and serve with their captors and not harassed. They were granted their lives instead of getting slaughtered. After they fulfilled their time of service, they were granted with freedom on jubilee. As an example is the case of Hagar - an Egyptian slave given by the Pharoah to Sarah. Hagar was the mother of Ishmael - the father of Arab nations. She was serving Sarah as a slave. She and her son Ishmael were released and given liberty to avoid conflict with Sarah and Isaac. Read the bible in context and not judge it by a few verses you picked up. There is a ton of guidelines and laws for slavery that are against cruelty. God is a just God.

    • @balticeejit9076
      @balticeejit9076 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@@clarkwayne3440Biblical slavery was not fundamentally different to the slavery in the American south. It allowed the permanent ownership of another human being as private property, with the restriction that you couldn’t kill or dismember them.
Also Hagar was a sex slave who was abused by her master’s wife and left to die when they fell out, so that’s a terrible example to show why this is really ‘humane slavery’.
What the Bible permits is comparable to the slavery seen in the surrounding area at the time, and to antebellum slavery. Please don’t become a slavery apologist trying to justify some archaic religious laws. If Christianity is true, Jesus seemed much more interested in how much you gave to the poor than how much you complained about gay people.

    • @clarkwayne3440
      @clarkwayne3440 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @balticeejit9076 Based on biblical context:
      1) Slavery within God's people - how is it different from the rest?
You are wrong about slavery within God's people. Slavery in ancient Israel, as outlined in the Old Testament, was distinct from the harsh and dehumanizing systems seen in other ancient cultures. The Mosaic Law regulated slavery in a way that emphasized humane treatment, dignity, and eventual freedom, particularly for fellow Israelites. Key differences include:
Limited Duration: Hebrew slaves were to be released after six years of service (Exodus 21:2; Deuteronomy 15:12).
Voluntary Indenture: Many became servants due to debt rather than being captured in war or forced into servitude.
Protection of Rights: Masters were not allowed to mistreat slaves; if they did, the slaves could go free (Exodus 21:26-27).
Jubilee Year Freedom: Every 50 years, all Israelite slaves were to be freed (Leviticus 25:39-41).
This system contrasts with the brutal forms of slavery in other nations, where slaves were often seen as property with no rights.
      2) Was Hagar a sex slave? No she was not.
Hagar was an Egyptian servant (Genesis 16:1), and while she was given to Abram (Abraham) by Sarai (Sarah) to bear a child, her status does not fit the definition of a "sex slave" in the modern sense. In ancient Near Eastern culture, a barren wife could give her servant to her husband for childbearing, and the child would legally belong to the wife (Genesis 16:2).
Hagar was not taken by force but was given as a concubine, which was a recognized (though not ideal) social practice of the time. However, she lacked full autonomy, as seen when she fled due to mistreatment caused by jealousy (Genesis 16:6). Though her situation was unjust, calling her a "sex slave" imposes modern terminology which is inappropriate on an ancient custom.
      3) Was the law of God about slavery different than others?
Yes, biblical laws on slavery were significantly different from those in surrounding nations:
Regulated and Humane: Unlike other nations where slaves had no rights, the Law of Moses provided protections (Exodus 21:26-27).
Slavery as a Form of Economic Relief: It functioned more like indentured servitude, allowing debtors to work off their debts (Leviticus 25:39-40).
Freedom and Restoration: Hebrew slaves were set free after six years or during the Jubilee year (Exodus 21:2; Leviticus 25:10).
Kidnapping and Selling Slaves was Forbidden: Unlike other nations, where people were often captured and sold, Israelite law condemned such practices (Exodus 21:16).
Though not abolishing slavery outright, God's laws aimed at protecting dignity and preventing oppression.
      4) Was Jesus more interested in the morality of how much you give to poor people than about homosexuality? No.
Jesus spoke far more about generosity and caring for the poor than he did about homosexuality. He repeatedly emphasized giving to the needy (Matthew 19:21, Luke 14:12-14) and condemned greed (Luke 12:15). He also declared that love for one's neighbor was central to God's law (Matthew 22:37-39).
While Jesus did not directly address homosexuality, he reaffirmed the Genesis design for marriage as being between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4-6). However, his primary focus was on calling people to repentance, salvation and emphasizing justice, mercy, and faithfulness (Matthew 23:23).
In summary, Jesus spoke much more about salvation, kingdom of God, wealth, generosity, and caring for the poor than about sexuality, though he upheld biblical sexual ethics.
You are acting like an asshole but you know nothing about the truth while pretending to know the biblical teachings.

@ministermattocks7570 I agree, and this is SPECIFICALLY what's wrong with YOUNG EARTH CREATIONISM. Its based on a BED of pure LIES and FALSEHOODS and I agree this is SINFUL.
Besides the obvious PHYSICS and BIOLOGY that is lied about in YOUNG EARTH CREATIONISM, the entire premise is FALSE and I'll point it out simply for you. Ken Ham and therefore ALL young earthers CLAIM there is SECULAR SCIENCE and CREATION SCIENCE and this is 100% FALSE. Science isn't CHRISTIAN, ATHIESTIC, MUSLIM, and it sure isn't SECULAR. Science is a METHODOLOGY, a series of STEPS to be followed. You repeat these STEPS till you arrive at better and better explanations for the MATERIAL WORLD and the PHYSICAL LAWS that govern the UNIVERSE. You can have ANY WORLDVIEW and practice the METHODOLOGY correctly and everyone is a welcome to publish their work and have it PEER REVIEWED. Under this method we have advanced in our SCIENCE knowledge tremendously and this has brought us many excellent technologies that have made tremendous strides in lifting many people out of terrible poverty and its allowed for us to communicate with these cell phones.
Young Earth Creationism and its FALSEHOODS cannot compete with actual Science so they have decided they will badmouth actual science and the scientific method, and they created their own CREATION SCIENCE journals. This is absolutely AS CORRUPT as religion gets when you have to LIE and circumvent the TRUTH of GODS created world and laws and BRAND your own version of Science. It's absolutely disgusting.
The Church tried a similiar tactic when they jailed GALILEO and forbid his theories that the Earth revolved around the sun, instead of the other way around.
ALL THIS ANSWERS in GENESIS came about in the 1960s because Christian leaders that didn't understand Science feared Science would push out GOD but in 2O25 Science is actually GOD AFFIRMING and its not needed to practice the CULT of YOUNG EARTH CREATIONISM and lie to young people.
Each scientific argument the CTEATIONISTS make are all FALSEIFIED but its pointless to argue the points because most YOUNG EARTH CREATIONISTS don't understand the Science anyway. The LEADERS like KEN HAM know they are lieing and they profit from it anyway. If they don't actually realize they are WRONG, its still sinful because they treat ACTUAL CHRISTIANS that are PhD EARTH SCIENTISTS and PhD Christian Astronomers/ Physicists terribly just because they don't translate GENESIS the same way. Newsflash GENESIS was written in Ancient Hebrew, listen to these scholars and they will tell you GENESIS does teach the Earth was created in 6 days.
Its just common sense to realize MOST CHRISTIANS don't translate the BIBLE correctly because we have HUNDREDS of different CHRISTIAN DENOMINATIONS and NONE of us agree on most ANYTHING EXCEPT THE FUNDAMENTAL BELIEFS of the CHRISTIAN FAITH and I teach these.
      1) The BIBLE is the INERRANT WORD of GOD
      2) JESUS is FULLY MAN and FULLY GOD
      3) CHRISTIANS are SAVED BY GRACE ALONE
      4) BELIEF IN THE TRINITY
      5) Jesus was crucified, died on the Cross, was buried, and was RESSURECTED to BODILY and SPIRITUAL LIFE.
None of these has ANYTHING TO DO WITH A YOUNG EARTH or GENESIS as you corrupted it.

Jesus preached to teach people the new ways to attain grace and salvation. He didn’t come to condemn. He came to explain how people could obtain eternal life.
His message was ample to warn how people disinherit heaven:
    “Galatians 5:19-21 (NKJV)
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;”

You can repeat what someone else said, but you cannot make the exact same argument with it.
The progressive argument against homosexuality is there is some sort of inherent virtue of the passing of time, ie "outdated and antiquated morals of ignorant men."
Even between Moses receiving the law in Leviticus and Christ walking the earth, "it's been thousands of years at this point, maybe God changed his mind on the subject."
Yet a thousand years is like a day unto God, what makes you think he changed his mind on this before the end of the week?

Now, there are other sins that most Christian's do every single day and embrace, but I won't mention them because that's not the point. The whole point of the law is to embrace what's good and because we suck at doing so, Jesus had to pay for our sin. Because without Jesus, salvation is impossible. We can't fulfil the law.

This is part of the problem with taking the bible at face value and not actually thinking about the verses or their context. It's pretty easy to see that Jesus didn't say anything about homosexuality because he didn't have to. It was already clear as crystal what the moral law had to say about it.

Hey Trent, question for you. You cited Leviticus 18:20-23 and said that is was a moral law between other moral laws. How do we know when verses in this chapter are moral laws or just ceremonial laws for that time? For example, the verse right before the passage you cited, verse 19, forbids lying with a woman during her monthly period. Is this meant as a lasting decree?
