Someone who knows ergonomics designed that handle, the palm swell looks to be fantastic in hand and especially so when using a hammer grip. Well done Lionsteel and well done Dan for this review.
I have the Lionsteel TM1 and it can be flicked opened easily. Just apply downwards pressure at the thumb plate, and release the tension in an upwards motion, instead of outwards.
Nice knife. I would have liked to see a Demko collab so they could use the triad lock. This would have been a lot closer to a production AD-10 if they could have. Not sure ikbs is necessary, you can flick a cold steel with its bronze washers.
A Demko collab would be interesting for sure. I think the IKBS argument could made for any IKBS knife, really. Certainly I have flippers in my collection that flip fine without bearings.
BladeReviews.com Very true. I actually think that using bearings is, in a way, cheating. It takes a lot of the effort out of getting a knife to flip effectively without them. Just toss in some bearings and boom...
IKBS with a lock back seems a bit pointless. Wouldn't the lock back be counterintuitive to the bearing pivot?? Great review as always Dan, good to have you back!
Thanks, man. Honestly I think IKBS on a lockback is just as pointless as IKBS on any other knife. And that isn't a dig at bearings - I enjoy them - but I don't think they are required for a nice folding knife.
I tend to agree with you. You have to wonder in an emergency situation when lateral torque is required, how much stress can those bearing pivots take compared to washer pivots. Bearing pivots are great to play with and suits 99% of normal day to day tasks but you still have to wonder.
Pohl Force has some of their knives produced by Lionsteel...see yourself doing any reviews on units like the ALPHA 3 folders...thinking about purchasing one and your input would be a benefit...
Good looking knife but it's a lock back. Can't "flick" it open because it's a lock back. Ball bearing pivot on a lock back, really... Nice overview tho, thanx.
I have been able to flick open lock backs before and have several of them in my collection. Hey, if that is the worst criticism I can come up with then you know it's a pretty sweet knife. My pleasure, thanks for checking it out.

Amen, Lew. Super comfortable knife. Thank you for checking out the review.

I'm drooling all over my ipad thanks to the Carbon handle. Very impressive looking and glad you posted a vid!
Thanks, man. Yes, the handle is immaculate.
Hell Yea. That knife looks bad ass. And that thumb disc looks removable. So you can sharpen it easyer. Thanks. Beautiful knife. I love carbin fiber.

It can be open in single fast motion deploy it like rest of knives, you just cant.
Amazing knife. For me personally lock backs make the best type of locks on the market.
I really like lockbacks too... underrated imo.

Nice folder.
I wonder if one of Demko's waved thumb disks would on this, considering it kind of looks like an AD10.
Great point. I see no reason why something like that couldn't be installed. Thanks for watching.
What a beautiful knife!
Thanks for stopping by, Tsu!
I just had to come back again for this one...
Lucky bastard! I am very excited for this knife, thank you for the review.
My pleasure, James. Thanks for watching!
Nice one Dan, thanks.
