I just created everything using Vegas Movie Studio and Paint.NET, used sounds ripped from the PS2's System Menu (from TheSoundsResource), and I used VirtualDub to give it that VHS Tape effect. The VHS distortions were done in Vegas Movie Studio in order to make it seem like the tape was slightly messed up though.
Well if it were real, then there's a chance Sony would've gotten sued or something like that. If you were to actually play a pirated game on a PS2, it would just send you to the RSOD and tell you to insert a PlayStation 1 or PlayStation 2 game. TL;DR: No, this isn't real and you'd only get the RSoD if you play pirated games.
This is even crueller than the GameCube disc check, that one at least gives you the option to send it to the Nintendo repair centre
