@@PowerCertAnimatedVideos no. It's something you didn't explain. How line land tels are connected to internet so you can access them. I was just curios
This is exactly what I had to learn for a problem at work. I found myself caught between 3 vendors for our business. ISP provider was deprecating our 'Copper Loop' lines (the old phone line infrastructure), Bell would not extend copper loop services (Only fiber optic), and our alarm company insisted we maintained a copper loop line. We resolved this conundrum by deploying GSM (radio, same tech as cell phones) module for our secondary alarm channel.
We use Mitel VoIP phones at my job and another benefit I like is that you can daisy chain and connect the phone to a computer for power as well(as long as the phone has two network ports). This comes in handy, like a ticket I had last week, where the run to the data drop wasn’t long enough as compared to where the phone was in the room.
Good lesson and explanation on VOIP.👍😄 Also, I wasn't expecting to see, the Star Trek Enterprise ship, travelling long distances across the screen, and knocking out phones in certain countries.👍😂

I think WhatsApp Call I use everyday, is using VoIP like explained in this video 😅. Maybe I still using Cellular Call but only for emergency or if Internet down temporarily 😅
Pretty good explanation, though I have a couple of questions: 1) With VoIP, can you call non-VoIP devices? Like, could you call from a VoIP phone/app to a cell phone (or any other non-connected VoIP device/service)? 2) Can you do vice versa? From a cell phone (or any other non-connected to VoIP device/service) call a VoIP number? 3) In in those two scenarios, would the charge for both parties be the same or would it differ? 4) Is modern cell calling still uses traditional cells or is it using like a mobile broadband to make the calls (and/or to connect to the VoIP)? Thanks for the video!
Yes you can call to non-VOIP numbers from a VOIP service. The cost greatly depends on the VOIP provider. Most charge a flat monthly fee, but it depends on the provider and plan.
The call made from a voip phone would reach telco central office through a sip/pri trunk. Once telco receives the number string, it would route the call as usual how it handles a normal cellphone call.
You use a VOIP provider and SIP trunk. The provider assigns you a phone number and with the SIP trunk, you can make and receive calls to the outside world as you would with any other phone.
Is the channels audience not super technical? I'm surprised you used a voip provider as a dependency in the explanation rather then letting new users know it's just a computer program they can self-host on an old laptop for those that want to learn more.
how about voice telephone communication using fibre optics? My ISP provided me an internet connection together with telephone using fibre optics. Can you make a video about it. Thank you.
Yes, because with Wi-Fi calling, your phone basically talks to your cellphone provider over your Wi-Fi network rather than through the 4G/5G service. Its useful if you're in an area with weak or no cell service, but still have Wi-Fi.
Odd and funny how the internet started out threw phone land lines and now you nead the net to operate a phone threw the internet to act like a land line .its a compleat reversal of operation .

you didn't tell how land-line telephones connect to VoIP?!
I did. You have to use an adapter.

Your videos helped me pass my practical exam for my IT apprenticeship 😃
Your videos are the best way to learn IT concepts hands-down

I have my CCNA and Network +, but I never fully understood the concept of RTP until now; thank you so much!!
In the UK, we have in our office Voip for the last two years and we are very pleased with it

Your presentation is really easy to understand. 😊
I work in education and I'm hoping to see your content on curriculums one day.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rated video and explanation...Good job sir
Its always interesting to learn about the different protocols that lie at the heart of the internet

I still have the good old analong telephone in my home. If piwer goes out, i can still make calls. Even if my cell phones battery are duscharged.
You also need a power source which creates issues for those people in need in a power cut.

What if the person you are calling does not have a VoIP phone? How does this get routed back to their phone line?

Hi sir, thank you for the video :) Can you explain the signaling system 7 network?
what about VOIP to regular landline? How will that work? Because in that case there is no phone number to IP address mapping in SIP
You use a VOIP provider and SIP trunk. The provider assigns you a phone number and with the SIP trunk, you can make and receive calls to the outside world as you would with any other phone.

Isn't it pronounced as V. O. I. P. ?
I've heard both. I prefer the simple voip(rhymes with void) but due to the nature of it, sometimes gets me like "what did you say? voip? voice?"
Agreed. No one in industry says it like an acronym (note the difference between an acronym and an initialism).
