I did some good seed explanation and showed some visual data on how random on computers works a few months ago. It's all there on reddit if you want to read. I usually run 3-5 runs to see if anything good drops. Like you said, bonus drops such as ascension mats, demon soldiers, ancient items, bullions, forge materials even runs that drop a lot of Soulbound Arcana or Infernal Roar I consider to be good seeds, depending on what you are hunting. I've had runs where I got 2 ancients within 10 runs after seed hunting (without changing seed so same seed dropped both). I've had weekends where I got like 6 ancients in one weekend without spending extra stamina just investing some time into seed hunting. Say you have a dice that can roll 1-10000. If you roll 33, the odds that you roll a number close to 33 again within 5-6 tries are really high. If 33 happens to be an ancient, you might get another one soon. Drops are divided in chunks, so 0-100 might be an ancient item, 101-200 might be Annihilating Might breastplate and so on. That's why rolling 33 and 70 would both result in ancient items dropping. It's quite easy to see why this happens as well if you check the screenshots I posted on reddit.

Definitely works imo. I’ve been telling all my guildies to see if they get a ancient in 30 runs they should keep going with the big autos otherwise restart it the same way you did. And if they would gey a ancient in 30 runs in the 100+ runs they would do they always get like 3-4 ancients. I’ve always had that thought of gear raids having their own RNG setted once you start the autos and it kinda seems being true
nice! i’m not having so much luck with ancients, but i’m getting a lot of other materials! will keep tracking the drops and see how things look after a couple thousand runs
@@RedoubtFlame i did a few hundreds on gr 3 around 7 ancients in 300 runs only got multiple ancients in the runs where i got a ancient before 20-30 runs meanwhile the last 168 with no ancient before had 0
If you want the background fight method, queue up max runs and wait for the first to finish, if it is a good seed let it run. If it's a bad seed, stop it and restart until a good seed is found. Assuming background fights use the same seeded method and the method works in the first place.
So far, I'm 10 into my auto run on stage 17 (because no bullion and gold ancients as well) and got 1 gold ancient with the good seed method. So coincidence or lucky, either way I'm much better off than the 5k stamina I put into 1-19 for a single bullion.
Do stage 17. You have a chance to get an ancient yellow and an ancient red. I was able to get the 5 ancients I needed for a later task within 250 runs.
@@renarddubois940 Sure, but the odds are significantly less than 17. If all you're trying to do is gain ancients for the sole purpose of complete one of the tasks of Odyssey, you run 17. If you're trying to get ancients for the sole purpose of upgrading gear pieces on heroes, then you do 21.
I think there’s definitely something in this, seemed to work for me, used 300 energy definitely had more bonus drops then not and I got a ancient, it was healing effect 🤦🏻♂️ but still

It's calculated on a per-roll basis with a luck modifier and potentially a mercy limit (having difficulty proving the mercy limit tho). That luck modifier is what's being perceived as a "seed". It seems to only plays a relatively minor role though, unless the modifier roll happens to grant abnormally high luck, and appears to only last a certain number of rolls, or when a high-value reward resets it. When it resets it can obviously reset to an extremely high luck modifier or a no luck modifier, which can create streaks, just like on a casino craps table that gets "hot" or "cold". Determining what actually resets it is more difficult. It appears that an ancient piece of gear definitely does as does a legendary or mythic demon shard. Not sure about anything else though.

Seeds seem to be important in all areas of these games. Summoning, artifacts etc.

'seed' is the number used to generate the randomness. a 'good seed' is one that generates randomness that gives a good/desired result
