👉🏾 This was definitely Chalfant’s favorite BTS moment thus far because Anpanman represents where the beginning of our BTS journey and his kids always ask to listen to it. NOW, they ask to watch this live performance of Anpanman at MAMA 2018!

You should seriously watch some of the Love Yourself Tour footage from different countries. Each audience reacts differently. Some stomp, some sing along, some scream and clap! Brazilian ARMY in my opinion are incredible! They are so responsive during their concerts!

Their performance at 2018 MMA was another iconic live show. Just my opinion, their MMA performance normally “bigger” than MAMA’s
Not for 2016 though, the camera work in MMA 2016 is so bad. MAMA have better performance in 2016 and 2017.

The intro and break dance for this performance were amazing but the lightings and cameras didn’t show much. Such a shame! Absolutely agree MMA is much grander and even more impressive. But BTS always knows how to put on a spectacular show every time. True artists, indeed legend💜

Actually Japanese are very much disciplined and they don't even use phone in concert (I heard somewhere) , I think that's why they are just enjoying performance calmly .

Their lightsticks mostly move in 1 direction. Just forward and back. Easy to spot the wild fan.
Yes, they try not to inconvenience other concert goers so to get them even this hyped is hard
Yeah, they respect the artists very much and they don't click their photos or bother the artists even when they meet or see artists out in streets, I heard that it's illegal.
Japanese fans receive such special treatment because of their respect to the members. BTS will come near the audience and they would not touch them not because they do not like them but because they want to provide their personal space. That is why Japan is up there in terms of music industry. BTS provides much more content (mukbangs, games, vareity shows) that only Japanese fans have access to.
People there are mostly Japanese and that’s really how they are in this type of events, subtly vibing.😊 It’s how they show their respect for the performers.
Regarding audience reactions, please remember this performance was in Japan - Japanese audiences tend to be more polite during performances and will not be as demonstrative as say, a Brazilian audience who will sing every line of every song (they don't fanchant in Brazil, it's beyond that!). I'm not saying Japanese concerts aren't great - some of the best BTS concerts were held in Japan (2016 Osaka is one of the top TH-cam hits). As long as ARMYs are having fun, that's all that matters!

@@BrothersFromAnotherColor Aloha, guys. If you watch other award show performances when they cut to the audience, the girls will hide themselves if they're caught on camera. I'm not sure why that is, but it's perplexing.
Japanese tend to be calm during concerts and performances, it isn't very socially acceptable to scream and jump around during concerts.
They are a lot more respectful too, there's a video of Jimin walking up to stand in front of the fans not even 2 inches away and everyone just stood there vibing, no one tried to reach out to touch him or anything. Where as if he had tried that out in America, people would've been tearing him apart.
JK was trying to fix his mic since he noticed there was a volume problem with his mic immediately, since the actual beginning of the Fake Love performance and was then trying to put his mic thing back into his pocket, but no one noticed how he switched it from hand to hand to pocket during the performance which shows how professional he is, they are.
Yeah, you only get tiny glimpes of it occasionally, when you now when and where to look. For instans, you can see him holding it in his hand when they do the line up during Suga's rap. That's why he was dancing with his hand on the back most of the time (holding it without letting the audience at home know).
My god the camera couldn’t stand still for 2 seconds I hate when award shows do that

Quite true...it missed a lot of iconic moments especially for the dance break parts. Its a shame to miss those in the main performance itself coz the boys worked so hard for it. I also didnt particularly like the lighting at the first part of fake love. It could have been better.. It missed the crucial parts of the choreography as its too dark. It didnt give justice to the dance

The public energy in japan or korea are naturally more down, i think that may be a cultural thing, very diffent then the armys from france and brasil

fyi, this happened in Japan, japanese people always very quite during the concert even though they are very exciting. It is just Japanese culture.
Chalfant’s love for Anpanman is so refreshing. People tend to think it’s more for kids... I say, it’s a wonderful song for the kid in all of us. Have you seen their tour live version where they’re playing on the inflated castle? Ingenious set!
I just turned those on for our kids to watch this morning. I still think this was the better experience for me because it’s the crowd I think in combo with the song and smiles from BTS that gave me the goosebumps. Envisioning seeing that live seems exciting!
I feel like Chalfant would like So what, Go Go, and 21st century girls. And Trale, check out Serendipity, Just Dance and DNA. Only DNA and Serendipity has MV. But all of them have performances 😄

The song "Answer: Love Myself" would be a good song for you to listen to. It goes with the ongoing theme you keep noticing about self love! I'm new and discovered this song recently and it's so inspiring!
I’m surprised I haven’t seen any comments wondering if u guys noticed JK & his mic situation during Fake Love. He was having problems, & for a portion of the performance u can see his hand behind him attempting to adjust the pack. At one point he even removes it to work on it. Seriously professional level crisis management.
Also, the camera work for this is notoriously bad. I’ve seen plenty of comments about u guys watching the dance practice because of so many epic parts of the choreo that are missed, it’s true. BigHit got in the habit of releasing the performance practices because of the show camerawork. The guys, backup dancers, & company work so hard on these performances, we need to be able to actually see what’s happening & appreciate the level of technique. U can find any of them on BANGTANTV!
The camera work and lighting was so bad that they re did the performance at a year end show 😂 I love them
Fun fact: BTS have performed Anpanman a few times wearing 'costumes' of whom they consider to be a new generation superhero - in this case it was astronauts (NASA, space), but they've also performed it resembling firefighters. I like that!
Also garbage workers! I think it's also why they performed Anpanman for US TV during covid - to say thank you to the every day heroes!
That "Thriller" comment... they were not zombies, they were channeling the movement of marionettes, dolls on strings, in direct reference to a line from the song.

Its weird that no one has pointed out that the practice version of fake love is SOOO MUCH better and you should watch it. You'll love the intricacies of the intro and the dance break. The lighting on this performance was frustrating so yall should watch it

BTS performances are pure gold! I could only imagine of the US people's reaction on their face if BTS were allowed to perform at Grammys, BBMs, AMA's, Met galas! Their concerts are just out of this world. If I could afford to attend all their concerts for life time I would!

My husband loves loves LOVES Fake Love. Especially the beat. He finds it overwhelmingly amazing. He did not need me to further introduce the song to him. He found it on his own. So this song has an even special spot in my heart.

Ooohhhh Chalfant, same! Anpanman is my bop. I mean, I love a lot of BTS songs, but Anpanman will Always make me move! I learnt the superhero fist and stomp move only just bc I love that part so so much! And also yes, when I saw that award stage for the first time, I got goosebumps too
Vibing out is totally cool because that means you are presenting reaction by acknowledging the flow and/or engaging the content.. Not all reaction is verbal and viewers readily experience hoped for engagement on more than just verbal levels. It can be a big positive.
Gratuitous interruption dissociated from the reaction content at hand is a more salient area in my opinion to cogitate over. I think it many times may tend not enhance reactions. Off subject chatter often is enjoyable and worth conveying as side stories help us connect with you as people.

Jungkook is most known for saying "Let's get it!", you'll see that a lot during their concert performances. This is one of the most iconic performances that that they have at awards shows. You should check out the 2018 MMA, it was EPIC. It's always so nice of BTS to allow these awards shows to proceed during their concerts. 🤣💜
Anpanman was the first song I really really connected with as well. It certainly has a special place in my heart. You have to see it performed during the LYSY tour in Europe or the Americas.

Japanese fans &even the Korean ones are like that, they don't use their phones instead they enjoy the performance, they're also very disciplined even if a bts member come to their zide or sit next to them they won't even Dare touch him. I respect that about them.
Well, they don’t use their phones because in Japan, phones are banned from concerts and performance shows. They have no choice.

Sooo since BTS got so big and wins so many prizes the other agencies boycotted the award shows lol dumb if you ask me. Sooo for 2018 shows you can tell the majority of the fans there are army. The award shows were literally BTS concerts 😂 also. The show said no one was allowed to use fan light stick but now one listened 😭 even Taehyung told them to wave their army b0mb 😂 it was hilarious
The shows from previous years was full of fan drama. Fans some artists that I will not name (💀) are so hateful. It was so peaceful without them 😭😂

This award is done in Japan. Unlike any other countries, Japanese audiences in general are very quiet and unemotional in any concerts. Actually this is surpringly loud compare to any other countries artists concerts.

For Chalfant: It's interesting that you say you're pretty stoic and don't show your emotions much. BTS makes me more in touch with my emotions. The songs tend to reach pretty deep and bring things to the surface. I've heard reactors that were not fans of BTS say this also. BTS brings it every time.
For Trale: You gotta make Chalfant listen to Make It Right.
