    This is a fun video and tag! My poor fountain pens have bee sitting in a drawer all of 2024, I'm such a bad stationer 😅

    Lovely video!! You may be convincing me to try the Pilot Custom 823 if I can find one at my local stationery store to see if I fall in love with it as much as you have with yours. It looks gorgeous! Although, maybe it's best that I don't know what I'm missing out on. 🤣 I love your first and last 5 inks list as well. I've been so intrigued by the Lennon Tool Bar's Sesame Oil. I signed up for a back-in-stock email notification from Yoseka's online store but hesitated to purchase it when it came back in b/c I wasn't sure how much it would cost in terms of custom fees, etc. I think the fact that I love using sesame oil in my meals is influencing me to love this ink even more, despite not having tried it yet! 😅

      The 823 is so delightfully smooth and the vac-fill is way too fun! It is a heavier pen though, but you are Pilot girl so I'm going to assume you would love the 823 too! The Sesame Oil is such a must have, I love it so much. It makes journal entries look so soft and inviting. I think it has to be my 2nd favorite ink of all time! I feel like it's strange, but I mentally smell the sesame oil when I write with this ink and it's so comforting🥲 I can't live without sesame oil, I swear it turns basic eggs and rice into a delicacy🤤

    You've ink-abled me with this video! Now I'm tempted to try Ochiguriiro in my Custom 823! Lovely video and thoughtful responses, thanks for sharing!

      😂finally it's your turn! You have been ink-abling me since your first video! I have bought way too many inks, because of your exploration videos 😅 I feel like Ochijuriiro was made for the Custom 823, it just flows so beautifully as is. I know some people like to add Vaness White lighting to this ink, but there is no need to add it of that pen😍

      Right! 2 years! It doesn't feel that long to me! I wish you a Happy Birthday too! Yours is before mine right? I don't think you ever told me the date, but i hope you had a good one this year! Did you get a new bday pen?

    Happy anniversary! I'm always so happy to see people discover these amazing writing instruments ❤ i grew up in a country where fountain pens are still very much used at school and i got my first one when i was 8 years old. At that time, gel pens were just beginning to be a thing in France, so if you wanted a smooth writing experience, you had to go with a fountain pen. I think most of my classmates were using those. The only exceptions were a couple of kids who were very heavy handed and for who ballpoint pens were handier 😅 grewing up in middle school and high school, fountain pens became more about having a way to erase your mistakes with ink that can be bleached to rewrite on top xD very handy for exams!
    Still using fountain pens! For every day writing, my best friend is the pilot falcon with an extra fine flexible nib, and for flare, the twsbi diamond 580 with stub nibs ❤

    • @FrenchyInFocus
      @FrenchyInFocus  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I never thought of erasing ink with bleach! That is so cool!! Where did you grow up? I wish I was exposed to fountain pens early on. I grew up with bic ballpoints and the sparkly gel pens😂How do you like the falcon nib??? I've been dying to try one! I with I had stationery stores nearby

    • @Narja23
      @Narja23 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FrenchyInFocusi'm not sure if bleach is the good name, but here, for students there is blue ink that can react to a pen that make the ink disappear, and you have the other side of the pen to rewrite with a blue fineliner. I think the basis of the white side of the correction pen that erase the fountain pen ink is bleach but not sure. Those were a hit before correction tape here! And i'm from France (and am still always oddly moved by the fact your parents named you Paris!)
      In Europe, the fountain pen culture at school is still strong, just like teaching cursive and all, but it's weakening. Now, only private schools in France are still making it mandatory for kids. A bit sad, really, as fountain pens make it really smooth to learn to write, i feel! (i'm a teacher, and i must admit i'm still strongly advocating for fountain pens to my students 😂 they are used to their odd literature teacher by now 😅)

      @@FrenchyInFocus and i love the falcon so much i purchased three....... 😅😅😅 I really love it! I have a bit of a sensitive wrist, and the flexibility of the nib is so good because it makes writing like cutting butter!

    • @FrenchyInFocus

      Thanks to you I have something new to research and obsess over! I was just talking to my husband how cursive is no longer a thing in schools, I feel like we were the last generation. I feel like most just know enough to sign their name, if that. I definitely want to teach my little one cursive, It's so much prettier than print anyway 😍Your students are so lucky to have you! Public schools here barely teach anything, but passing the standardized tests@@Narja23

      Oh that sounds heavenly!!!!! If you bought three then I really I need to get my hands on one! I write lightly so I imagine I'll still get to see line variation in my writing @@Narja23

    Would you like the Homo Sapiens Lava or the limited edition? It's a hard toss up between that and the M800. I love the bird, but also that lava material is so unique. Very nice video.

    • @FrenchyInFocus
      @FrenchyInFocus  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s so tough!!! Part of me wants the Lava most just for being such an iconic pen. That signature material doesn’t exist in other pens and I imagine it would feel so nice!

    • @ironmic9244
      @ironmic9244 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FrenchyInFocus It is a very unique and awesome feeling pen. It's very hard to describe it, but the best, is a velvety texture. The limited editions are nice too, but the lava has the best appeal for me, as that is the one I have. I also do not like the Brooks resin HS. They are not very unique, as they are popping up everywhere. But the older LEs were unique.
      As to another pen, Pineider makes the Alchemist. There are 3 colors, and comes with a gold or steel nibs. But really, it's just a poser to me. LOL.

    I have two holy grails in my possession: Pelikan M400 (medium) and Pilot Custom 823 (bold). Both are in nib sizes I use for letter and long session writing. Right now my quest is for a Taccia Miyabi or Namiki Yukari Maki-e Shooting Star (it's so beautiful). One day!
