Has the machine worked for you before? Remove the bobbin and check that the needle lines up with the hook (hole area in the spinning part) as it moves around. Is the needle front to back (flat side to the back)?
@@jamesrogers991 yes it did work but the bobbin case look like its turn the other way and when I put the cotton it makes a hell of a noise so I don't know what to do
which one would you pick if you had to pick one? would you say that they are any similar to Frister&Rossman Cub4 or less/more powerful? I have a Cub4 already and looking for a vintage upgrade.
It would entirely depend on what type of sewing you plan to undertake. The 301 being straight stitch only is a marvel. The Lotus is extremely smooth and also incorporates zig zag and larger bobbins.
I have an Elna Lotus and my spool holder falls thru when I try to lower it. My repair guy has it sitting up permanently but it’s not sturdy. What have you done to yours?
There may be a c-clip missing from underneath. If you get a set of mixed washers for taps, there is a small hole for the screw that the spool pin will slide up and down through. It might help.
Thanks: it would be appreciated if you could show how to do freemotion sew on the two different Elnas please, i.e. how to set up in that the feed dogs don't drop. Would like a gander at the 'riser': I think middle machine has a 'over plate'. Bye
nicely done comparison. good production.
I am pleased that you like it
Is the Elna Lotus comparable in size, weight, & performance as a Singer Genie/Starlet?
The Lotus is a smaller machine (3/4 size I think). I am not sure how big the Genie and Starlet are.
please help me my elan lots sp the bobbin case make a lots of noise and the cotten is not come up with the needle

I don't understand what comparison you were trying to show. You only operated the Singer machine but not the Lotus SP!
Cool man. I'm suprised how quite they are.
they are great machines indeed

Brindabella Bella Yes the Elna Lotus does have an over plate for the feed dogs. I have one.
