Singer 431G Low voltage motor sewing denim
I have figured out how to convert the internal Singer motors in the 300 - 600 series to low voltage high speed high torque. This means that you no longer need to worry about a dead motor, voltage issues between countries, or even off grid working.

stitch winder stuck
my machine is blinking and cutting off is there anything i can do
Confusing, but thank you.
hey! please tell me which number needle we can use in this machine
Me gustaría saber en qué posición van los controles para una costura recta normal ??
Tengo esa misma marca y modelo ,, pero no sé cómo trabajar y poner sus controles ???
I've watched this a number times and question about buttonhole dial R and F. When I switch to R it doesn't reverse. I'm trying to determine by looking inside... When it is in R does the reverse lever stay down to be in Constant reverse. Please help😊 thanks if you fan
I watched again and doesn't appear to lock that lever to stay in R so I'm stumped!
Hola tengo la misma máquina pero no me sale el bordado como está mostrando
Found one at ~€45. I've been spending most of the afternoon cleaning. Also had all accessories. I've got two 201's. They're my favorites. Especially my treadle configured one, it's so silent.
That was a lovely demo, thank you! You have such a soothing voice, and I appreciate the silence of no music. The 301 rhythm was music to my ears. I counted 5 stitches on each side for the Domino stitch from the rhythm of the machine. That 9 degree slant shank foot makes all the difference to the ease of sewing. Lovely stitches!
I inherited one of these machines and this video was so helpful in figuring out how to work it. I've never owned a sewing machine before now, but I wound my bobbin like a pro. Now if only I could find the missing cards and table
This tutorial absolutely saved me. Picked up this buttonholer from a thrift, it came with every single part & the instructions but I am a much more visual person! Intended to use it to add a buttonhole to a garment someone i know bought and now I can! Thanks loads
This is an excellent solution and a great little adaptor! Is there any way that I could get three of these...one for me, one for my sister and one for a dear friend...we all have our own Kenmore 1914!! If that's possible, please let me know next steps! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your tips, James. Your advice to change thread, which I have now done to Gutermann, along with changing the needle and for a more suitable type, rewinding the bobbin entirely and loosening its screw slightly, have resolved this issue which was stopping me from using my machine! Thanks for putting me on the right track! I'm now going to start making a new shirt for my husband for his birthday! Happy sewing!
James Rogers where did you find the file for this embroidery, I've been looking for them for a long time
Would you share the file? I would love to try this on my Janome sewist line machine

If you know anyone who does 3D printing, it looks fairly easy to me to print something to fix your problem.
So you are saying the MTX190 needles are the same size as the 20x1 needles used in the Davis UF machines (and other brands of vibrating shuttle machine), or did the VF machines use a longer needle? Thanks!!!
I've noticed Davis machines in general seem to be very under rated. They're really fairly good. I have several UF shuttle models and they all sew and work just as nice as any other machine.

You should be able to use the pattern disk with double needle as you would a basic zig zag. But you do have to account for needle position. There are adjustments that can be made too.
Do you know where I can get a replacement for the needle holder appears to be stripped and I need a new one for this machine
En español por favor
Trying to figure this machine out... This is helping.. but even with top tension at 9 the top thread is bunching underneath and then th thread breaks... Could this be a setting or is it more likely the machine needs more work?
@karaross5356 have you checked the bobbin tension? Did you lift the foot when threading to ensure that the Thread goes through the tension discs. At 9, the thread should be pretty much too tight to pull.
Hi James, My motor is a 110V 250W 2.5 amp. Will this work with this? I am so done with the surging of my foot pedal. I have replaced and adjusted many times. THANKYOU
Fantastic detail, thank you
Thanks I have a 403a and I am wondering if the 411G is a better machine I do know the internals of the 403 are more heavy duty than the Rocketeer. Can you tell the difference on sewing even just straight stitch and zig zag. Guess the quick question is other than the chain stitching and the treadle option what would your choice be. Thanks so much for your lovely videos. BTW I subbed and hit the alarm years ago but see it must of been changed I will do it again
You may have good intentions for your videos, but you should consider not to block the crucial part of your videoing with your hand, etc.
I was curious about the pins, glad I watched til the end of the video.
Can this technique be used for domestic table top machines with inbuilt motor?
If the machine is not digitall. If the motor is the standard type motor, yes. Machines like the Kenmore 158 series just moved the motors inside, but the motors are the same type as the exterior motors.
@@jamesrogers991 It is an electric sewing machine M1005 Singer. I found out that itt has an AC motor. Can you please let me know if I can use a dimmer to control the speed?
@@supritadwarakanath8412 I tried to see if I could find something definitive. I found quite a few short videos on the M1000 but that appears to be a DC setup. If there is a label on the machine which says voltage and amps that could help. But if you are certain that is AC 110, this solution will 99.9% likely work.
@@jamesrogers991 yes the label reads 6V and 1.2mAmp..but my seller says it's an AC motor inside
Genius. I bought one of these recently, but I don't know what type of needle or code is ideal for it, can you tell me? Thanks!

Excellent video. I am used to old cast iron machines so this is new territory for me. I have a super clean one with all accessories. But, oh the odor. Spraying it with alcohol. Following up with oil.
There are two (2) different Kenmore large letter monogrammers. One is like this one in the video. It comes in a book-like box and has an oval embroidery hoop. All the cams are the same length and they do not fit the Singer/Greist large letter monogrammer. The other Kenmore large letter monogrammer is exactly the same as the Singer/Greist monogrammer with different company names printed on the, flat, rectangular box. These all have rectangular embroidery hoops. These monogrammers use cams that are different lengths for different letters, and they are interchangeable. One of course needs the correct flavor to match the machine shank: low, high, or slant.
@@lilliansullivan5867 Thank you. I learned something new today.
Where did you purchase this hoop from?
I bought it on eBay. If you type in sock hoop, you should find a selection.
Are the cams metal? If it only gad the face mounted bobbin winder/hand whell. I guess nothing is perfect.
The internal cams are metal. The top hat cams are the black bakeolite or melamine whichever you prefer. I have not seen anyone make those in metal, but I have also not seen one fail. I would imagine as time moves on, the 3D printed versions will become possible on metal.
So, i recently got a 401A. I had to clean it uo, bit ot is awesome. I almost feel guilty having such a niice machine, having never really sewn.
Do not feel guilty. When those machines were new, many ladies were new starters too. It is great that you have taken the machine off of a dusty shelf and made it happy. Your machine will become one with you as all good tools must. Occasionally you will have cross words but you will make up again and sew with extra pride. Happy sewing.
Hi, I got this machine from a garage sale and I was wondering if you knew what cord and pedal it would need because it didn't come with one and I have no idea what cord it needs
Yes, you need to get the Husqvarna Viking foot controller. www.ebay.ca/itm/266902845840?epid=15035608927&itmmeta=01J2NDB5MGDKWMQTGZ3ZD827DN&hash=item3e24a63990:g:yigAAOSwz0Bmkflf&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAABAIWZtjqD0R37NxDRTZi2O1RtRNeEMLktAD2nyt4lHwinHlp4%2F11IBX8WQool8DGw30Rqk%2Fa9uRA2HGLbibbGWISlL82TWH60%2FMzvlxMsXYzGFYpbTL7VaTs3UcbH9%2F5yMBIQIkq9Ta0%2FBFGndHrn2VbQYG4UgfxJzMbfF%2BHge8Vh4LVl24axsa1fXzn%2BqYMM9DvwLG9aVq6yKues%2FW6aD7LWQMhMijaQ4C5ZISMgSMBQkOX%2B4K%2B8MF9WGVP2EC8FOyaC5kj6YwVUqFtNbjzIDVHvDPcPWvSMiWt%2B1%2FEHaJWHA1NiW01StCmCcF7%2BNl0t6lnA9XhuDfUEDc%2BTkqc2vxs%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR6zarK2VZA check the plug, but I think the one at that link correct.
Quiero una para mi , donde puedo comprar?
Thank you for the wonderful tip!
I want to purchase this machine please tell the price of this machine.
I know this is a while back, but i just got this foot and need lessons. Thanks.
It was difficult to follow your explanation coz you were using white thread in a white background(?). Then you don't have any Endless/Border-less hoop from Viking/PFAFF, plus you are only hooping the stabilizer to later add the fabric. Don't you use spray adhesive? Or Iron fusing stabilizer? Using any of the two makes things lot easier. Anyway, thanks for your video.
I have 2 it . I love it💖

I have found a fairly beaten up 401g local to me with the original treadle wheel and cover. It's only €30... worth stripping for parts? I have a 411g back in australia at my mother's that could be converted. What do you reckon?
Have you installed a servo motor on a singer 29k71
Hi Jame, can we just use the light switch dimmer directly to the motor line?
Yes, if you know how to splice wires, it should work. And that way it will not dim the light.
