Richard this was one of your best uploads…Honest, Authentic and being so Real with your feelings for your Dad to all of us. Loved it and God Bless you and your Father. 🙏🏻
I have my grandfather's 70 CB750. I brought it home while he was in early stages of Alzheimer's. I was fortunate that it was the last thing he remembered about me. So, for the next few years, our conversations were always about me getting the bike running. I finally got it going, in time to lead his funeral procession. I've put a few thousand miles on it and road it in my grandma's funeral as well. Money will come and go, memories are what we cherish the most. Cheers Richard.
Awesome tribute to your Dad Richard, and I’m fairly sure the Apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree. I don’t know your Dad but I suspect you are a lot like him. I hope the Fonz bike sparks some light in him so you can both enjoy it even if only for a few precious moments. Enjoy
Thank you for this video. In 2001, my father was Suffering with COPD. He was on Oxygen 24/7. He raced an OSSA Stilleto in the California Desert when we were kids. My brother restored that Stilleto and rode it over to our parents house. Mom heard it from a block away. Dad removed his oxygen and climbed on that bike and ripped down the street and back. He looked 10 years younger with a smile and spirit I had not seen in real long time. It is something worth so much more than money! Bless your Dad.
Brought tears to my eyes hearing such a humble Richard talk about his father, makes me wish I could have done something so cool for my own father before I lost him to cancer. Love what you do and hope all the best to all those out there dealing with any family trauma or loss.
I truly hope your dad enjoys the bike and it brings a smile to his face and gives you one more chance to "connect "with him on a personal level. My prayers are with you and your family. It takes a strong family to deal with this condition and with God's help I know you will make it through.
Without a doubt the best of content. Really really good to see the emotion that nostalgia and family can bring. Excellent purchase for many reasons. Brilliant content...absolutely authentic touching and real.... and thank you Rich for drawing attention to what is a cruel disease 👍
We are currently going through this with my grandmother it's truly about how you choose to approach the disease not to say it's easy but the key is to learn to continue to have loving memories with your loved ones
This was honestly the coolest thing I've ever seen you do Richard. It really made me think. Honestly I'm in tears thinking about my dad... take care man.
@@Joe-xh2lk I gotta be honest man,if that guy always acted like that he'd be even more successful. There's one other time he talked about his dad and it envolved a mustang. I wish he actually read these comments because I think he'd find out he could just be himself. Drop all the bullshit and just be himself. The same could be said for myself!!!!
This post brought tears to my eyes on a couple of different levels. First the love you expressed for your father, and the hope that this bike might bring a connection again, even if momentarily. Second, how my father’s 39 Ford pickup is still in the family and undergoing restomodding right now. All the memories that his truck brings back of my father and brothers contributed to the tears. Thanks for posting.
Thank you Richard for conserving these iconic pieces of history. I applaud you with the way you are dealing with your father. I watched my wife's grandmother go thru it as well. It's a heartbreaking thing to witness. Keep on gettin' you some of that!
You're dad must be seriously proud of you Richard! How cool it would be to have your son do what you've done in your life!! Huge fan brother! Good luck with your dad brother
What a great video! Very awesome to hear Richard be so genuine, caring, and loving when he was talking about his dad aka the Fort Worth Fonz. Alzheimer's is such a sad thing to go through and I definitely feel for Richard. Thankfully my grandparents didn't get it too badly before they passed away. Prayers going out to Richard, Richard's Dad, and their family.
This is the best show I have ever seen you do.Made me so emotional. My father and I would all ways watch Happy Days. He was born in the 30s. He was a greaser. He passed away 2 years ago for pancreatic cancer. People that attend the wake that I never meet that he went to high school with. Were telling me story's how he was the coolest kid in school. One old timer told me. You father was so cool he had a bike leather jacket even a switch blade. Thanks for the video it's terrific. Take care of that bike. I know you will.
Respect for what you do for your dad , i gave up my life to care for my grandad who had Alzheimers & dementia which was hard and took its toll on me but he went happy , would love to see the video with pops
Wow, what a powerful message and your story about your dad really touched me emotionally. Your dad can be proud of the man you have become and a king of cool in your own way.
A truly beautiful gesture. I went through this with my aunt. When she forgot who I was she thought I was her brother back on the farm. Like you said, just go with it. Love to you and your dad.
Richard meet Richard. I saw all the Fonz series also, and on repeat. To see you choke up I feel you. You are a ICON to me and many fans now. Fonz was a really cool series for me also. Life we only get to have all this happy and sad emotions one time. Thanks to you, your Dad have a chance to have this greatest emotions to remember!🤧
To say Mr Ray did an awesome job teaching young Richard to become the wonderful man he is now..is an understatement. Texas born Texas raised with the values WE can only inherent here in Texas. I too learned to accept my old man developing Alzheimer's and made his last 5 yrs the best for all of us! Thnx for sharing you love for family speed and nostalgia. Sending love to the Ft Worth Fonz from SATX.
My heart goes out to you. With what you are going through. My dad passed away in 2017 of Alzheimer’s he lived with it for about 8 years and you are so right everything you said about how their mind operates. I can remember that he loved Johnny Cash. And when I played it for him. he could still remember the words.but if I asked him who I was he couldn’t tell me. I just think it’s a great idea of the Fonzie motorcycle to remember him and you in the past
I loved this episode for several reasons. I too used to watch Happy Days over and over but I wished I had a dude as cool as Fonzi as a dad or big brother. His character was so cool and tough but he was a softy and had great character. One of my favorite uncles suffered with Alzheimer’s as well and it’s such an awful disease. I appreciate your insight and advice on how to deal with it. Seeing this side of your life reminds us just how good of a human you are. God bless you and your pops!
WOW! What an amazing video. Sharing your memories of your dad and telling how he is now mustn’t have been an easy thing to do. Love the way you described how to go with the flow when caring for someone with Alzheimer’s. Hope your trip with the bike brings a smile to your dads face. Keep up the good work, and can’t wait to see your next episode.
Great video. My Dad had dementia at the end of his life. I used to visit him weekly with his favourite drink, brandy. Just give him a small glass to enjoy and he would start talking about his youth. He ran away from home at 16 and joined a circus ( Ashton Circus ). He became a clown and travelled with them for 7 years. He couldn’t remember his wife or kids but he remembered the circus like it was yesterday. I tracked down the relatives of the original circus owner and they supplied me with hundreds of digital photos from the time he was in the circus. I set up the television in his room to scroll through the photos while he had his brandy. It was fantastic to hear him laugh and remember things he got up to in those 7 years. Taking that bike to your Dad will hopefully bring back memories for him and open up the dark spot he is in for a brief period.
You’re a good son to have that opportunity to give that to your father hope he really enjoys it even he doesn’t show his emotion he’ll definitely know it’s there along with you ! 😎👍🏻
Richard, i'm glad you're able to do this for him. i lost my mom during the lockdown last christmas. she was in a home for ALZ an ended up with covid. for the majority of her stay there we wern't able to go because of all the restrictions. much love you you & yours my brother.
This definitely got a little sand in my eye. My heart goes out to you. Such beautiful memories, sentiment, and attitude toward what life throws at you. As a quadriplegic father much of what I envisioned my life to be as an “active” dad is completely unattainable (hiking, backpacking, etc) but I’ve learned to change my expectation that I created on how life would go. And to truly enjoy the moments we have with our sons/fathers - in that moment. Bless you, man. And keep on with that attitude - inspiring.
Richard. Get under the table with them is sone if the beat advice I have ever heard when it comes to alzheimer's. 5.years after my wife and I got married, my grandmother had forgotten it. Late stage alzheimer's. Our solution? We did a vow renewal on her 86th birthday. Chose that day as a family tie in, as I was born the morning of my grandfather's 60th. We lost her a month later. But having her there, on one of her clear days, made it all the more special for us. To the point that you aren't the only one fighting back tears. That was 15 years ago, and I still remember being in that little church, and seeing her sitting there with my dad and step mom. Still remember her smile, and will always treasure that memory. Thank you for sharing yours, of your father with us. MLLH&R. Prayers for you and your family through this trial, but here's something I have learned in my 46 years, the last 15 as an amputee. He will never give you more to carry than He knows you can bear. Be there for Dad, and make memories with him. You and your sister have got this.
Love seeing the real life stuff stuff, we all have certain things that stick out from our children or teenage years and when it connects us to someone that we respect and love it’s even more important. I hope your father remembers and I hope it brings him the same joy we all could see it brought you. Thanks for sharing
This is where I gain respect for you Richard. The way you showed your humanity and shared your thoughts about dealing with where your dad is at and meeting him there was profound Wisdom. This was the coolest you have ever been.
Good tribute to your Dad Richard, I lost my Dad to cancer years ago it was hard and still bothers me after nearly 25 years. One of my fondest memories is when I was in grade school in 1967 I came home and there was a Ford Mustang in the driveway to me that was so cool. He taught me how to drive in that car. It never left the family until the big fire in Northern California a few years ago destroyed it in my nieces barn. It was a dream to buy it back and restore it. Thank you Richard for sharing the road goes both ways as your Dad is also lucky to have a good son as you.
Its nice to see a man share his emotions. Men are told different things growing up, not all of it for the best. Your memories of your dad are priceless and he is obviously a special person. I'm glad you shared this moment and the memory with us!
Ayyy, Congratulations Richard I'm sure that your dad will love it. This is the best thing that I have ever watched on that interweb. Not a dry eye anywhere who gave this a 👍👍's up. Get you some of that!
Wow, who didnt love or try to emulate the Fonz? A HUGE part of my childhood, cant believe that's the bike. Congrats sir, enjoy your time with your dad, life is precious.
Man this shows a wonderful side of you I lost my Daddy when I was 16 I still miss him every day so go see your dad as much as you can you can’t imagine how much you will miss him tell he’s gone God Bless
Such a great thing you getting that bike. I have lots of memories growing up watching Happy Days. No other TV show has come close to it. My dad resembled the Fonz as well. Hope your dad enjoys it and brings a smile on his face. Sending prayers for you and your family that are going through Alzheimer's with you dad. My mom passed away with dementia 5 years ago. It's very hard to watch them go through the different stages of these awful diseases. 🙏🏻
Thank You Richard for putting this one out there I also am dealing with with my mother and Alzheimer's and wife after a bad stroke I too go back to the old days when things were simple I really wish I could turn back the hands of time and do things over again for them! Thanks again brother keep up the faith!
Thanks for this Dad episode. I took care of My Dad everyday for the last 5 years and I lost him Christmas morning and his layout was last night! So it’s safe to say your Dad stories made me cry.
Respect is high for u Richard for honoring your dad thank u for being a good person I really appreciate seeing this video made my night brother. Much love and respect to u and ur family that what makes a man a man is being also humble Good night
This was you best content ever. Memories of your dad are so precious. Let’s hope this terrible disease is cured so others may get what you so richly deserve.
Very heartfelt❤️ I am rebuilding my dad's 1969 Camaro for similar reasons. To honor our parents is a special thing. My dad is gone but not forgotten. He lives on in your hearts and memories even if it's through a car or bike. 💕😇😢
You reached a new level of respect !! I am fortunate enough to still have and ride with my dad who is turning 75 this year and I am scared shitless of the day he will no longer be by my side !!
Richard wow man that’s amazing just watching that brought a bubble to my throat not cos you got the fonzi bike but cos i can see how much having it means to you, today I seen a side to you that just blew me away .. god bless you brother ..
This video spoke to me in so many ways. My dad is in the early stages of Parkinson's. Dad is a true man's man. A kind, decent, loving and authentic human being who took no prisoners and made friends for life. I feel very emotional right now having watched this. Much love and respect to you, Richard. Thanks for sharing this.
Lost my grandpa to it a while back, it's hard to deal when they forget who you are or think your someone else. In reality though this meat suit we are traveling in is temporary and they will be waiting for us where ever our souls roam next.
Thanks Richard for those words and what your doing. My father, like many others around the globe is in the same state and way as yours. This was definitely one of the most emotional videos Ive seen you do in like forever. Not just because of the bike, but for the strings you pulled and poke about within the soul ad heart
Your seriously one of the most genuine people in this crazy lifetime. I pray your pops remembers this bike and has a shit eating grin on his face brother. Keep up the amazing work, I have never been let down by any of your episodes and look forward to seeing more. I wish my old man got to enjoy these videos like I do. God bless Richard
best vid to date. I bought a harley to remind me of my dad riding one in ww2 and everyride is special to me. your vid brought back so many memories of my time with my father and just talking bikes. I cant ride my bike anymore do to medical conditions but every time i look at it i think of my dad. Great job Richard. Thanks for being heartfelt.
The Fonz bike has ended up in the best place, with a cool guy who "gets it" and is going to use it to spread good vibes with it. Respect. Hope you enjoy every second with your Dad. Alzheimer's is cruel and shortens life but it does give some time to say goodbye unlike strokes or heart attacks that can be instant.
Richard I have a new respect for you. That was a really humbling video. Made me open my eyes for what my mom is going thru forgetting things and I get upset but now like you said they can't help it and you can't change that. From the bottom of my heart thank you I really needed to hear that. God bless you and your family
Amazing. Alzheimer's is an incredibly sad illness to deal with. My grandmother was diagnosed and lived with it for a number of years. Fantastic film and tribute to your dad Richard.
Great video! My dad passed from Alzheimer’s back in 2013. He loved motorcycles and actually raced flat track back in the 60’s and 70’s. The Fonzie bike reminds me of the old flat track bikes he used to race.
Nice of you, very nice. Dad's are awsome, and we carry some of them within us, very deep. I love my dad and you do too. This world needs to recongnize dad's a bit more. Loved your story. Keep it up !!!
You did it! You got Fonzies Bike. I watched this show every chance as well. Grew up with that great show. My dad wasn't the Fonze, He was more a Six million dollar man, Lee Majors looking guy. RIP Pops!
Very nice. You're younger than me but I totally get it. My dad had dementia prior to his passing in 1996. He was in the Army in the 1940's. Basically my hero. God Bless you brother. Beautiful
Hey Richard, thanks for your words. My mom is at the same stage as your father. I try to do exactly what you said, hard for the grandchildren to understand. But your right . Just be there . Thanks. Keep up great work. Fan forever.
It is amazing how we watch people on TV and don't realize they are human and have issues behind the scenes like the rest of us. Glad you opened up about your dad it was your best video by far............ God Bless....
I grew up watching Happy Days also Richard. I was born in 1970 so im a year younger then you. I loved watching the show. Im glad you bought the bike. Great to see you reminisce about your Dad back in the Day.
I wanted to be jaded and giggle at a guy that overpaid for a bike because of some childish notion. Watching the video straightened me out. Every father's son wants to feel and hold on to the feeling of that bond which will inevitably end in heartbreak. To be in a position financially to afford the absolute pinnacle symbol of their particular bond and to share it with his father while he still can is about as honorable a deed and tribute as there can be and has frankly humbled me. Nice work Richard. I hope you both enjoy all the moments that bike helps you share together and all the memories and smiles it's sure to bring you down the road.
😢this upload hit really hard for me. My grandpa is dealing with dementia and this really effects the whole family. Im talking about a man that was not only my grandpa but a super hero to me. A little league baseball coach for 60 years that taught me everything I know about the game and life. Now to be around him and he doesn't even recognize me anymore😢 I kills me inside. I have the honor of owning his 94 ford f150 he bought brand new that was in an accident. Im currently in the slow process of making it driveable again because its the same truck he would take me to baseball games in. Im in hopes of having it finished before it's to late so I can take him for one last ride in it along with my son. 😢thanks Richard for making this grown man cry much love to your father & I hope he enjoys the suprise🤟
Phenomenal video. These are SO much better than the tv show. I really how open and honest Richard is in this video. Thank you Richard for opening your heart. All of us have family stuff we have to bear. You’re a good guy sir.
Fantastic video Richard your Dad will be as proud as punch having you as a son, your pride shone through, having just recently lost my father to asbestosis I like you continue to honour my Dad in the best way possible by being a decent man with respect to others and to make him proud 😀😀 stay safe Richard and thank you for the video, David from London 👍👍
My mom's got Lewy Body Dementia, And you just gave the best advice no one else has every told me, I found out the hard way. You just gotta play out the insanity with them. Sadly, 2 months ago Her needs went beyond my abilities to handle, she has entered a rest home. Thank you for addressing this in a public manner, so many want to deny or not talk about such a head rending issue.
Wow, i heard the fonzi story before and thought it was one of the best stories ive ever heard and im honesty not sure if Richard sits down and reads these things but I just wanted to say that if anything i sincerely hope you drop by your dad with fonzi's bike and even if its the last time, i wish his mind clears up and remembers every moment and appreciates the gift his son has given him. God bless you and your dad and family.
Richard this was one of your best uploads…Honest, Authentic and being so Real with your feelings for your Dad to all of us. Loved it and God Bless you and your Father. 🙏🏻

I don’t think I ever missed an episode of Happy Days. If we only had those days back again.
Richard you indeed are a good person and have reached the Fonz level of cool.
He's good, but no one's as cool as the Fonz.

Both give off a creepy vibe.

Richard, thanks for sharing and for the great advice. You're a legend and you obviously came from one. Prayers up for your dad.
Your dad is lucky to have a son like you. My thoughts and prayers go out to your dad and those who are battling alzheimer's. God bless
Richard much love to you in the family and your father sorry to hear of his condition Stay strong keep your head up
Wow, who didnt love or try to emulate the Fonz? A HUGE part of my childhood, cant believe that's the bike. Congrats sir, enjoy your time with your dad, life is precious.
Wow, congratulations Richard. I'm sure that you're Dad will love it.
Absolutely love the story about your Dad.

CONGRATULATIONS Richard! That's just way cool! I was a huge Fonzi fan, so I totally understand. God bless you and your family!
Much love and respect to u and ur family that what makes a man a man is being also humble
Good night
This was you best content ever. Memories of your dad are so precious. Let’s hope this terrible disease is cured so others may get what you so richly deserve.
Very heartfelt❤️
I am rebuilding my dad's 1969 Camaro for similar reasons.
Sometimes sentimental value out weights the cost mate, love the fonz and I am sure your old man is proud of you for owning the bike.
I guess Richard showed his heart. here's to His
Dad and the times enjoyied together. love this.
I'm so glad someone like yourself got this. Amazing!
Oh, hellz to the yeah!! The 'Happy Days' bike!! First show to get me interested in the cool aspect of motorcycles! 👍😎
best vid to date.
Definitely brought a tear to my eye, great episode.
The most humble I’ve seen Richard. Good episode.
So beautiful to hear you talk about your Dad. I have a loved one suffering. you are 100% right about it. God Bless
Hi Richard long time fans our prayers for your Father. Thanks for being authentic and congrats on the Fonzy bike score.
Richard I have a new respect for you. That was a really humbling video. Made me open my eyes for what my mom is going thru forgetting things and I get upset but now like you said they can't help it and you can't change that. From the bottom of my heart thank you I really needed to hear that. God bless you and your family
So cool Richard. You made me cry. I'm your dad's age probably and it is great to see your honest emotions.
Richard, thank you for sharing! Beautiful video. Love to you and your Dad.....and LOVE to my Dad, I miss you every day!
Well spoken, My Mom passed from it many years ago. You nailed it, loved watching.
Outstanding Richard.....you definitely are the "modern day Fonze".....the legend lives on !!!
Phenomenal video. These are SO much better than the tv show. I really how open and honest Richard is in this video. Thank you Richard for opening your heart. All of us have family stuff we have to bear. You’re a good guy sir.
Brings up so many emotions thinking of my dad, I really enjoyed hearing how you deal with the disease and speak of your father in such a great way.
