This show needs to be way more mainstream. It’s one of HBOs best. A lot of us love learning how things are done in countries and lifestyle we’ll never be able to see first hand.
Tokyo Vice is so good . I love the first season , and the second season looks even better . The first two episodes are great , I hope the rest of the season keeps the same quality 🔍🔍🔍🔍 .
tbh i don't think i want it to last that long, UNLESS it can effortlessly move on to other characters and systems like The Wire. depending on how this season goes, i think 1 more is more than enough.
@@admiralcoffeemaker6310 It’s more “inspired by” the book rather than an actual adaptation, so that doesn’t really matter considering it’s telling its own story.
This show is so damn good and intriguing. It could have been an HBO Original, not just MAX Original, but I can see why they choose to go down that road. I just hope they keep it around for few more seasons.
And yet no Emmy nomination for best drama...This show is criminally underrated. Jake Adelstein himself has confirmed that there won't be a season three which I'm fine with as for me the season two finale felt like the perfect series finale and a third season isn't necessary and would probably only serve to undermine its own legacy-Personally I'd love to see an Ishida prequel series chronicling his rise to power within the Chihara Kai in the style of The Godfather Part II...HBO/Max please make it happen!!!
@@TimoCruz177 I said in my previous comment that I'd like to see an Ishida prequel series but it could actually also work as a hybrid prequel/sequel series chronicling both Ishida's rise to power within the Chihara Kai in the 70's-80's as well as Sato's struggle to lead the Chihara Kai into a new century with harsher anti Yakuza legislation coming into effect (Michael/Vito Corleone in The Godfather Part II type vibes), that would work even better as that would allow the audience to see the Yakuza at it's peak as well as it's gradual decline in power. I'm also looking forward to the upcoming Like A Dragon:Yakuza series on Prime next month, eventhough I've not played any of the games-Jake Adelstein's other books The Last Yakuza and Tokyo Noir are also great reads and I'm finally getting round to reading Tokyo Vice after watching the show and reading his other stuff first so it's all come full circle for me 👍🏽

This show is not only graphically a masterpiece, but if you had the chance to visit/live in Tokyo in the 90s and have a deep interest in japanese cultural ways & society (and i m not talking about manga and jpop), then this show is even more amazing as it s accurate in every way.
Every single actor was so good -- the series was brilliantly cast. The other "brilliance" in the series came from all the incredibly talented people behind the scenes. I want to learn about everyone!!! This is LOVE! 🥰
I remember listening to the author of Tokyo Vice being interviewed on NPR over a decade ago and was hyped. Then this tv series came out on Max and I was all in. Amazing stories based on real experiences from Jake Adelstein the reporter. Hope this lasts a long time, 8 seasons plus please!
Love love love this show can’t believe how good it is have been binge watching both series over the last week and don’t want it to end. Please make a 3rd series 🙏👏👏👏👏🤞
its wonderful, but the dark lighting suits watching in the theatres and feels dimly lit for streaming on smaller devices and requires casting on the telly
oh no, you have to wirelessly cast the show onto an actual screen suitable for watching films and TV shows, life has been utterly cruel to you, not to mention the filmmakers who are simply inconsiderate jerks

This show is presentable and amazingly relatable hope there's a 3rd season after this one

Well, yeah justv3 seasons could also work. I just don’t want it to end at only 2 lol
Depends, this show is based on the book so it depends how much this season covers.

Please give us another season! You've made an excellent show and we want moar :)

My favourite show!! So happy its back!! Pls do more seasons! This show is so underrated

Hm, almost like the star was accused of sexual assault. Thats how underrated it is!

Ayumi Tanida - Tozawa steals this show. it's probably his best fit for role
Yes, Ayumi Tanida was perfectly cast in that role! His "quiet ruthlessness" was inimitable!
Wish this show became more known. It's a brilliant investigate show, with strong characters trying to find there sense of justice.
I agree, too bad it got canceled though
@@davionelliot I fine it was 2 seasons. The main story was wrapped up even say at the end there would always be another criminal to catch.
Exciting series…intriguing storylines and engaging characters, with an exceptional cast!Scary cliffhangers last episode…..
Love this dang show! Totally forgot the new season is out!!!
The first two eps of season 2 don't disappoint.

Amazing season so far wish they could keep going
Amazing show.
Im so happy that they are back 🥺☺️✨
Season 1 was superb. I’ll watch season 2 when all episodes are up
You must renew this show
Miyamoto was such a charismatic figure. Prefer him over Ono-san (the architect) or Hayama by far. Absolutely addicted to Tokyo Vice.
Just finished watching season 1-2 please bring on season 3 excellent 👏👏👏👏
I grew up in South East Asia and knew about the Yakuza way back then. They were terrifying. I cannot wait for Season 3

Why isn't this extra included in HBO Max? Very amateurish
Katagiri, and Nagata are gonna hook up.
I love that cutie from baby driver
Sam was the worst character last season. Just a total tool and so selfish.

Another show set in a foreign land with a Western white male as the lead protagonist. So unbelievably tiring
But it works 😂
Isn't it based a real story?
@@18890426 it is, and he's also not the only lead, Ken Watanabe, Rachel Keller and possibly Sato too are all equally important in the story.
