My Ford Fiesta ST Mk8- 1 YEAR HONEST Review!!

- Since I failed to make a collection video for my first car this time last year, I decided. to make a one-year ownership documentation for my Mk8 Ford Fiesta ST-2, especially as it's the only content I can produce right now. I've loved it, and would buy another in a heartbeat, but there have been a few issues too which I've described. The 1.5-litre 3 cylinder engine is a standout plus point for sure.

Drove up to the Peak District in my mates ST, so comfortable and great performance - hard to believe it’s only a 3 cylinder. It still amazes me how much tech you get for the price too 👌🏻👌🏻

Imo the previous ST with 4 cylinder sounds better. I don't really get the 3 cylinder hype..

Great update! Disagree a bit with your 5 door statement. I will be getting the 5 door just for ease of getting people in and out if they want a lift and putting things on the back seats when not using the boot. Each to their own I suppose!

I got myself the 5 door just because I prefer the looks and I get the added practicality as a bonus. The doors on the 3d are massive, and I feel something is missing from the back of the car to the driver's door. And lets not forget we can pop down the back windows to better hear the exhaust :D :D
I can't choose 5 door or 3 I mean the 3 door looks sick more racey looks, the 5 door people say is a family car and isn't for sporty looks, but I like the idea of more room (5 doors) but love the looks of the 3 I can't choose and anyone help?
@@Chappers.Gaming of course it personal preference. For me the 3 doors doors are far too big and awkward you have to really stretch behind to grab the seat belt and i wanted easier access to the back seats for my dogs. I don't think it looks any less sporty than the 3 door.
@@Chappers.Gaming You shouldn't care about people saying it's a family car. It's the same car and not only looks better (in my opinion), it also sells way more than the 3 door. If you really love the looks of the 3 door, then get it, so you do not have those regrets later.
It's just a car that surprises people which is what I love about it! Surprisingly fast, nice sounding, nice on the inside, nice looking.
Amazing how many people don't seem to know anything about it really!

Nice video! I have one as well, only my second car after a 2000 Vw Polo :D It's also quite funny (or not) because the day I picked it, the dash was rattling. It was literally a whole piece that wasn't attached from factory. The same happened near the handbrake. After 1 year I still have an annoying rattle coming from the boot and Sync only froze once, other than that, I love it, starting it up and on a twisty road, never fails to put a smile on my face. Great car, superb in everyway, although I do prefer the 5-door, It looks better imho and is more practical.Either way you have a very nice car! Thanks for sharing.

5-door versions are great. The extra doors definitely are pluses to convenience and practicality. :)

Planning on buying an ST soon and the biggest problem I have is I prefer the ST-2 alloys and the ST-3 seats!

My Fiesta had the same problem with the infotainment system went into ford 3 times they upgraded the system 1st then replaced the screen 2nd still had problems then finally they replaced the whole unit luckily all under guarantee. Been fine since!

Does this car have the LSD fitted? I cannot find a single review of what this car is like as a standard st-2 without the LSD? Ford are slightly unfair on the consumer by only sending the car with one fitted to the well known review channels.
My ST2 has the LSD, it’s absolutely worth it if you are pushing it on a B road, it hauls you out of corners and let’s you get that power down earlier! This is what makes the car quicker than most on back roads !

how does the adaptive cruise control works with manual transmission?
do you have to switch gears or does it work automatically?
You manually just switch gears, as long as you don't use the break it simply resumes after a gear change
Had mine 18 months now, and yeah have the same problem with the infotainment freezing,mine's the st3 so have the heated steering wheel(god send during winter),do find that metal topped gearstick a bit cold on winter months though

I've just bought a mk8.5, 5 door fab wee car last of the breed to replace my amazing mk 3 RS.
I prefer the 5 doors-looks bigger and better ballanced. 3 door looks like you couldn't afford the back doors......

Hi .... quite refreshing to see a review such as yours, well done. A question.... do you get used to the front seats. I’ve sat in one and they feel very narrow and press in on my hips. I’m 6 ft tall and not over weight but felt a little uncomfortable. Would appreciate your thoughts and anyone else’s’ experience of the seats and car. Cheers - looking to get a 5 dr ST3 in December
I'm 6'1 and somewhat overweight, also had the same impression when I sat down in a display ST, but now I don't have an issue with them, well, I don't notice them even on a long "lockdown voyage" from Belgium to the middle of the UK. My theory is that foam tends to lose strength where it's constantly being pressed, so it kinda shapes itself, might also just be that I got used to them.

In regards to the fuel, how low do you run the tank down until you fill up? I usually refill with around 50 miles remaining and only get around 320 miles on the range.

Should be a crime not to spec the Performance Pack!
Why, the vast majority of the people buying these cars have no idea what an LSD feels like, let alone how to get into a situation to actually need one.
If you go for an ST you have to tick the performance pack 100%
…unless you have no intention of going on a track. Pretty pointless on the road.
Which color is best for this car ( red || blue) ? ?
I love the grey color on this car. I think its called blizzard grey.

personally I would never choose red but it's down to your own individual taste
Always subjective but I got Race Red as it suits the sporty nature of car in my opinion. Really pops when it’s been cleaned 👊

nice film , I have one ST2 2019 same spec same wheels same blue , had so much trouble getting a stone chip match paint wondered if you have any ideas the dealer ship one is way to dark as is another I got off the net despite being assured it was correct .

i just sold my MK8 Fiesta ST after 8 months of ownership , simply because i had nothing but trouble with it , it was more back at the dealership, compared to being on the road unfortunatly :(

Do yours burns oil? Which engine generation do you have?
@@spolo123 I have first gen. and it doesn't burn oil. Check the chain cover if its leaking in case you are missing oil.

@@spolo123 I was asking before buying one. I had mine for a year and a half now and no problems other than paint that stone chipps easily.
Is the magnetic Gray a good colour? The dealer told me the blue just looks like a standard blue feista.. I don't see it but I do like the blue im torn between magnetic Gray and blue.. can any one help on what colour looks good? Or suits the car more? Also 5 or 3 doors
Chappers Gaming grey looks awesome and is quite rare, I’d go for that if you like it, 3 door looks much better than 5 in my opinion
Obviously color is personal preference but i dont like the shade of the performance blue, so i went for silver fox which to me is the best color on this... But as i said, personal opinion, if u want your car to be as sleeper as posible, magnetic grey is perfect

@@petrplatos3313 hehe yeah that would be cool 5 door mag gray take off the St logo ( i know why would you) then people will think its an ST line modded, until they see it up close but i think Sleepers are pretty cool tbh, you get less attention from people and the same fun!
