- The Noid was everywhere in the 80s. He was an animated character created by Domino's Pizza to help promote their delivery service. The slogan "avoid the Noid" was all over the TV and radio. 22-year-old Kenneth Lamar Noid couldn't understand why his surname was suddenly being broadcast everywhere and he began to believe that the pizza company was trying to turn the public against him specifically. He drove to a nearby Domino's restaurant and decided to get revenge...

Domino's sued a pizza shop in my hometown in Canada because they were named Domino's Pizza House. Our Domino's was two years older so they won.
So why don’t they sue back and get a massive payout ? Shouldn’t that be their next move? Dominos stole their name
Mental health is so important.
Republicans are doing everything possible to get rid of what little mental health support services we have... Not to mention how they're blocking any type of solution for gun violence. They will say it's, not a gun issue, it's a mental health issue, all the while destroying the mental health services we have in place. People love to complain but, the people aren't voting these people out. So we're stuck with this. People love to say shit like, both sides are bad. That's true, both sides suck, but one side is actively trying to prop up mental health services and medical services in general, while the other is doing their best to destroy them. Their version of mental health is distributing Bibles.

Yeah, too bad Reagan utterly demolished mental health facilities in 1980. We still haven't recovered from it, and the US is still abysmal when it comes to our mental health services.

Considering that private jet was paid for using the surplus value of all the low paid employees working under him, and that the incident was caused by the company's actions (not saying there's blame, obviously this couldn't be predicted), it's the bare minimum. It just bothers me when very rich people are celebrated for doing something entirely logical. Shouldn't the owner of a company be responsible for their employees' safety? Being a pizza employee is literally more dangerous than being a cop

You can thank Reagan for this. He drastically cut funding for mental health services in 1980, and ordered all mental hospitals shut down. He didn't offer any alternatives, of course. Just left millions of mentally ill without treatment, and often, without a home to return to. Kenneth Noid could have gotten help before things got this bad.
And defunding public schools until we lost all of our student counselors.
That was the part of the 80's that overly nostalgic people tend to forget. They wax lyrical on how great everything was forgetting that in a way it was a very selfish decade with people just being told to go out and make money any way you can, don't worry about moral consequences just care about yourself
I remember when Trump took power and cut funding to PBS, the one network that had no bias and it's programming centred on educational programming but because of his other controversial policies it got overlooked by the majority of public

Reagan did that before when he was governor of California. What it led to, psychos running around and one psycho named Herbert Mullins committing a heinous crime. Reagan did it again when he became president, and more psychos running around when they should have gotten help.
The movement to empty mental health institutions had begun a long time before Reagan came along.

Arie would win the then fastest 500 mile race in Indy 500 history and go on to be linked with the company through 1990, with the number 30 picked as an allusion to the 30 minute promotion

This is a very sad and ask somebody who's have family members have suffered with mental health issues I can see how that would drive somebody crazy in the back of their mind if they think that they are constantly being annihilated by a corporation I don't know how pizza company are those handled the situation if it was the right way or whether it was the wrong way but it's definitely is a sad luckily the victims in the case were not killed or seriously harm

To be fair....I'm sure Domino's would like you to forget about a hostage situation at their restaurant....although, on the other hand, I'm sure most people don't even remember or know about this particular incident. I for one though the 'incident' would be much, MUCH worse.
I am only 1 min in and want a pizza, even got a voucher BUT I live on a boat and the delivery driver will never find me, and if they do the pizza will be cold by then 😮💨
As a former delivery driver id recommend asking you to meet them at a gas station and pick it up there
