Clounsnaghta ❄️ 21st November 24

Possibly 5cm of wet heavy snow here this morning at Clounsnaghta (Snowy Meadow)
Just as well the Eucalyptus are bendy ! Heavy wet snow clinging to foliage and weighing them down.
🤞🏻the forecast is accurate and the snow melts quickly.

Would be interesting to do some intentional breeding with so many species flowering, would love to see Nitens crossed with Subcrenulata.

I think it unlikely there will be a choice of which varieties cross. From early research I did, Eucalyptus cross pollinate readily, though a comment from another Eucalyptus grower suggested that they tend to remain true to producing tree, i.e. seed capsules on the Nitens will produce Nitens seed.
Guess we'll have to wait and see... Subscribe to be notified when I get to that stage.
