The Punisher famously survived the Penace stare due to having no regrets but this is inconsistent because it is most likely that Ghost rider decided to let him live because the Penace stare even worked on him in a later story
Deadpool gave a Angel Feather to the Punisher for having Divine Protection against the Ghost Rider's Penance Stare.
also the punisher didnt frag his whole planet. so less sins to burn.
I like to think it's because even Zarathos recognizes The Punisher's intentions, the fact he only went after criminals and absolute degenerates, you know people that abuse and traffic children? I guess he thought Frank was doing his job for him.
You know, considering Death is banned from collecting Lobo's soul, my headcanon for Ghost Rider going after Lobo in the first place is that Death came to Johnny and asked, "Hey, I've had to do way too many overtime shifts because of this guy, but Heaven won't let me reap his soul, so you mind doing me a solid and caring care of the bastitch for me?"
And afterwards he would be like, "DAMN, that guy was a pain in the ass."
Death: Hey Johnny, there’s this guy. I’m not allowed to reap his soul and he’s just murdering more than half the population of every planet he’s on and that causes me to do overtime a lot. Can you please get him

This actually makes sense considering ghost rider said "it's done" as if it were a task given to him.

He's a guy who loves to act who takes any role thrown at him and does his best, and he's never awful (even if people hate for the meme) and he's sometimes incredible. You don't have to love him, but you gotta respect.

Unless the character has resistance to soul manipulation. And there are plenty of characters in the Marvel Universe with that.
Donovan Braggs even then zarathos can destroy their soul. There are very few that are immune to complete soul destruction, most being angels or demons.
Lobo's soul was marked as untouchable, meaning it was illegal for death to touch it. But Ghost rider isn't death, so he just ate it.

I think the reason the Penance Stare couldn't work at first is because at that time, Johnny's strength alone couldn't restrain Lobo enough to keep his eyes locked or something.
It's another case of the ultimate winner using their strongest attack first though so that's something to add to the small pile.
When they say lobo soul was untouchable, they meant that no one is allowed to collect his soul, ........but Ghost Rider can eat it

It isnt mentioned in the video but in a comic, ghost rider killed thanos but using penance. Thanos thought it was the same as penance stare but no its just penance, which basically means just die
People get confused by Frank's wording. That was still the Penance Stare, Frank just used it to kill instead of punish. The stare can kill people, like when Blaze accidentally killed Dr. Strange with it during vicious cycle, it's just not what it's used for most of the time.

The rider is the literal spirit of vengeance. If a soul of a being has done something to be punished, it cannot escape the fate of judgement which is what the ghost rider is meant for. As long as the person the ghost rider is attacking has a sin accounted to their soul and have no holy powers or weapons, the fight Is essentially over from the start.

Marvel is actually working on a Ghost Rider show for Hulu right now. Except it's not Johnny Blaze, it's Robbie Reyes (the new GR from the comics and Agents of SHIELD).

@@x-rayofficial4894 not Ghost Rider OP... he isn't faster than the Hell Cycle. He isn't strong enough to bust mountains and beat the universal threat Mephisto or the World War Hulk. And Ghost Rider is technically powered by an angel, not a demon, so he cant destroy him with the Unmaker. There is nothing stopping GR from blitzing the shit out of him on the Hell Cycle and going on his merry way.
They got one thing from the fine print wrong that I've seen. The Punisher quite literally only survived the first penance stare solely from the fact that either in that issue or the previous one he was healed by an ANGEL's feather which granted him divine protection hence immunity. Most of the time people get out of it is because of either a third party or because Ghost rider was not trying.
It’s simple really, ghost rider just made lobo relive all the pain and agony he’s ever caused to others, he would relive the pain of everyone else on his planet and everyone else he’s caused harm to

I think you guys were asking were Ghost Rider was when the avengers were fighting Thanos. Johnny Blaze hasn't shown up in the MCU yet. The only ghost rider the MCU has so far is Robbie Reyes in a few episodes of Agents of Shield, and he is NOT bonded or connected to Zarathos so it wouldn't be the same.

Correction, Thanos did get obliterated by cosmic ghost rider so the stare does work on thanos. If you guys didn't know cosmic ghost rider is Frank castle in an alternate universe. Yes Frank castle the punisher becomes a new ghost rider gets the power cosmic from galactus and goes back in time to raise thanos to try and prevent his future self from destroying the universe. You guys should read the comics you will love it.

Bit of info on the next Death Battle. This version of Mechagodzilla is called Kiryu which literally translates to machine dragon. Kiryu was constructed around the bones of the original Godzilla, which apparently resurrected Godzilla’s soul which can override the pilots controls and give Godzilla full control over his new metal body. Dragonzord can operate with little input from the Green Ranger aside from being summoned. So the next Death Battle is between two sentient machines.

Lobo has went toe to toe with Superman, Speed blitzed Flash, Beat Doomsday, beat Orion, killed all of heaven and hell, and even stalemated Darkseid.
So for him to lose to Ghost Rider is ridiculous.
