It is finally time for me to share my journey of playing Final Fantasy VII with you all. I really loved playing Final Fantasy VII Remake and sharing that journey with all of you here, so I of course had to share this too!
I went in to this game fully blind, knowing only sort of what the graphics look like as well as the part of the story that is shared in the remake. I went a big part of the game not knowing any spoilers but it was unfortunately the big spoiler was spoiled whilst I was live. Other than that I knew nothing!

It's one of the BEST plot twists in any genre, I was in disbelief when found out who really Cloud was!

Definitely one of the best parts. As you said in your playthrough, “how can polygons make me so emotional?”
They really did such an incredible job conveying emotion and feeling with dialogue and simple visuals.
Younger players always are taken aback by the crude graphics, but this was cutting edge at the time, especially the FMV cuts. There is an aesthetic to this game that is timeless, like the pre-rendered backgrounds and MIDI music. Some people don’t and will never get it, but there is a reason why this is one of the greatest games ever made.

Such a good idea to have an unreliable narrator like Cloud for this story, too. I recall reading somewhere that they may have used a then new book on treating PTSD for this whole plot point, interestingly. I'd have to look it up again, because - after watching this scene again - this sounds like it could be true. As for the aesthetic, I feel it's like that with many older games/systems, it's hard to understand their importance if you weren't there. For example, most people who aren't European don't get ZX Spectrum games... you just had to be there to experience them firsthand. Still, if you give them a chance, many games from that era hold up better than one might think.

Agreed, it turns everything you know inside out whilst also making everything you know make sense. It’s such strong part of the game, and they do an amazing job at giving you all the feels. I think knowing what this game came out makes it clear how amazing it is!
This is probably always going to be one of my favourite games, even though I played it a long time after it was released!❤️

Never thought this part is just over 100 minutes long! However, by listening to it, it feels like 30 minutes. Cause time flies!
