Last week, Jin's fans donated enough money to open a learning center for young children in need--in Africa! The learning center tweeted a thanks (and pics) to ARMY, letting us know that many needy children will now have the opportunity to learn in a safe environment. The power of ARMY!!!
Is this a different charity project from the baby unit in Seokjin's name in South Africa?
@@p3arl38 To be honest, I'm not sure it was just something that came up on my feed. You might know more about it than I do. Either way, it's stunning to know what ARMY can do!
@@vcwloves9864 it was probably a One in An ARMY project for Jin's birthday. They were the ones who tracked and organized the $1M ARMY donation to BLM that matched BTS's.
that's really impressive and admirable!! 💜
our boys give a new reason everyday to love them even more
I’m an 80s metal fan and been to more than a hundred concerts. I’ve seen BTS live 3 times and they are by far, my favorite entertainers. Their shows are a true spectacle that you will never understand by watching videos of them. You must attend a concert live to truly appreciate their talents. I still have tickets to see them at the Rose and Cotton Bowls with my daughter once concerts resume!
i cant wait to try to get tickets!!
Love it, I still have my tickets to Soldier Field in Chicago. I have yet to see them live in concert yet :(
51 yr old ARMY here...I still have my San Jose tickets. I saw them at the Rose Bowl and the ARMY lights are so amazing. Their concerts are on another level. 😊
@@crystalsnow1138 I still have my Soldier Field tickets too! I hope this pandemic ends so we get to go soon!
@@bubblevuvu I'm really hoping for summer of 2022, keeping my fingers crossed.
Here's a quote from Harry Styles from a few years ago “Who's to say that young girls who like pop music -- short for popular, right? -- have worse musical taste than a 30-year-old hipster guy,” “That's not up to you to say. Music is something that's always changing. There's no goal posts. Young girls like the Beatles. You gonna tell me they're not serious?”“How can you say young girls don't get it?” “They're our future. Our future doctors, lawyers, mothers, presidents, they kind of keep the world going.”“Teenage-girl fans -- they don't lie. If they like you, they're there. They don't act 'too cool.' They like you, and they tell you. Which is sick." I'm 33 years old myself, but even when I was teenager I never liked or listened to any music just because it was popular or purely because I found the artist attractive. I hate when people belittle teenage girls interests.
For the negative comments you were talking about, things like that just happen, man. In any fandom, there’s gonna be the 10% out of 100% that are cruel, obsessive, and mean. The more fans an artist has, the larger that 10% is. I mean, BTS member Jungkook did a video livestream last month in which he was just chilling singing songs, and he had 22 MILLION real-time viewers. Insanity, right? BTS have THAT many fans. Mix in the small percentage of crazies in the fandom and then put them on the internet, which is already a very special type of hellhole despite how great the internet also is, and you get those kind of comments.
"special type of hellhole" lmao why is it so true though haha
I was into Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Maroon 5, Cold Play, Metallica and then one night while surfing the web I ran across a video of an award show called MAMA. This guy dropped his jacket exposing his back and it looked like he had wings cut off of his back. I immediately wanted to know what was going on? All of a sudden I heard drums pounding , someone was singing FIRE! Oheyo. Then someone rose from under the stage and said, this is BTS and we're on FIRE! The look of determination on their faces was enough to get me to watched the performance. It was one of the best performances I had seen in my life. Then all I was going to do was look up their names....5 years later here I am. Watching/helping BTS & ARMY take over the world.
🤣🤣thats so awesome... like a phoenix rising from teh ashes
@@jonny.x Here's the video, if you get a chance check it out. It was from 2016. It it hooked me. th-cam.com/video/cbSy36fu6Pk/w-d-xo.html
@@jonny.x Did you read that BIG HIT/HYBE just acquired Ithaca Holdings? Ithaca Holdings is the company Scooter Braun owned and has such clients as; Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, J Balvin, Dan & Shay. Demi Lavato and a bunch of other big named singers? I wish you knew BTS when they were younger telling us their dreams. They had this tiny little table they would sit all 7 around. It was a site to be seen. They would have these great discussions about what was coming up in front of ARMY. There are still snippets of these videos floating around. I wish you could have known them then.
As you can see. BTS is not a typical boy band at all and ARMY is not a typical fandom at all. I'm 51 I have never seen a fandom like ARMY NEVERRRRRRIm. I'm so proud and thankful for being part of this amazing BTS'S magic, unique, world. Thank you so much for this reaction as always you're a great reactor! 💜

I am 42, I've been with BTS since pre-debut, back then I liked Big Bang, TVXQ, Super Junior, etc. and came across them. Started watching their logs when they were nervous, scared, and excited. Seeing them, and the fandom grow has been life changing for me they lifted me up and got me through my postpartum depression after having my twins which were my 5th and 6th kids. Their dad had been arrested 2 weeks before I had given birth so I had to do it all alone, I'm not sure I would have made it. They really did help me. I will always support them. Army has always been there for me too. It's such a beautiful community. There are toxin's in every fandom and I hate that sometimes there are so many it makes us look bad sometimes, but for me the positivive over rides the negative!
Wow you are amazing. I honestly feel inspired by how strong you are. Also been a kpop fan since 2ne1, Shinee and bigbang etc. Bts hit different for me though and like you they've helped me through insane lows, what I call my hell. We are preparing in our lives to have a child and postpartum depression scares the shit out of me. I'm bipolar and I'm terrified of getting sick again, something a postpartum depression can trigger (cycles) as well as increasing risk of postpartum psychosis. I'm honestly really scared. Your comment feels comforting in some way, thanks 💜
@@Samson16436 Thank you! I'll definitely pray for you! Of course if you need a stranger to tell something to, I'll listen. I know how hard it is. DM me anytime. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
I am 47 years old and have been an ARMY for 6 years. Since I was a teenager I only listened to rock and metal and I have liked many artists. When I met BTS something was different, I fell in love with those guys, I had never felt such a connection with any other artist.
The fandom is really amazing ... it's a great family. ARMY has supported the construction of schools, hospitals, libraries, planted forests, has donated tons of food, support to animal shelters, orphanages, nursing homes, patients with cancer and other serious pathologies, construction of an oxygen plant in Peru for the pandemic etc etc. Many people hate fandom and make fun of it, but the reality is that there are many more positive things that fandom brings to this society than the possible faults of some fans.
I'm a brazilian who grew up listening and going to concerts of different music styles (samba, forró, rock, jazz, chorinho, classic...) but BTS it's another level.
For me it's because the members have a close relationship with the fans since the beginning. They have a variety show called Run BTS and you can see their personalities. They are really humble and good people. They talked about their struggles, you can see how hard working they are. They are not full of sh*t like many artist are.
loved your reaction , and i am 54 years old i have been an ARMY for about 5 years , and i love all 7 members i think they are amazing and their Music has helped me a lot , BTS and ARMY forever i purple you all
BTS creates a symbiotic relationship with their fans. Openly sharing intimate thoughts, opinions, snippets of their daily life BTS provided fans with a stable, interesting, and moral example for a fan to incorporate into their own lives. Likewise BTS has openly drawn on their fans for support, inspiration, and reassurance. Many in the industry have tried and failed to accomplish this close relationship. You're doing a good job, say well
Samsung and Hyundai are both Korean companies haha
oh dang I didn’t know that 😭
Still my family argues with me that Samsung is Japanese brand 🙂
@@aashiyakhan4432 oof I'm sorry about that
I'm a 35 year old mother and an army. Been listening to kpop since 2005 when Super Junior debuted. I've been listening to hundreds of kpop groups and solo artists, and yes BTS and army are different in many ways. I'm glad you found BTS and welcome to the fandom! I always enjoy your reaction. Thank you!
I am 43 and a proud Army mom!!!
..... my 14 year old daughter got me into BTS and I have never known a group or fandom like this! It literally feels like one big family! 💜💜
My only regret is not discovering them sooner!
.... Thank you for your reactions - 😊
The Lady is Halsey one of the biggest American female singers of all time and has gone platinum 17 times and the guy right after is MAX, he is one of Suga’s best friends and an incredible singer. He even said Suga is going to be an uncle to his kid.
i know halsey! i guess i never knew what she looked like?? or maybe never kne wwhat she looked like off stage/not in a music video lol
@@jonny.x lol it is totally fine haha
Thank you for your reaction and journey with BTS! @19:45 mark is Halsey who was featured on BTS Boy With Luv in 2019. @20:09 is Max Schneider who was featured on Suga's mixtape D-2 released 2020...the song is called Burn it. These two artist both had Suga featured on their albums. I look forward to more BTS reactions from you! :)
- For Halsey, she is a good friend of the BTS members. There is a lot of love from both sides for the other - BTS gave Halsey an orange mic like their mics that are bedazzled with Swarovski crystals.
- For Max, Suga was also featured on a single of his late last year called "Blueberry Eyes" and did his rap in Korean even though Max's single was otherwise in English. ARMY likes Max because he and his wife learned Suga's Korean and lip-synced it in the MV (because of COVID they couldn't do any of the recording together), plus Max raps Suga's part in Korean when he performs the song live.
- I'm also in the 4% of the fandom, being 54 years old. My daughter introduced them to me a few years ago, but I really fell down the rabbit hole last year when "Dynamite" was released and its success (100M views in 24 hours) made me search out the video. Having had a lot of extra time on my hands with my daughter back at college and largely being stuck in my home due to the pandemic, it drove me crazy not to know who was who, so I dug deeper to figure that out, which led to watching more of their MV's, finding and loving the Carpool Karaoke episode, finding and laughing my fool head off at fan video compilations, watching vlives (both past and present), and then supporting the BE comeback by streaming the song and the MV.
- I laughed when you doubted that BTS had the ability to directly motivate purchases. On February of this year, Jungkook did a live stream during which he was eating a salad and drinking Teazen lemon Kombucha and recommended it. The following week he did another live stream and he literally said (I'm paraphrasing) "yeah...about the lemon kombucha...I tried to buy more and I could only buy two packs. It was sold out. You guys bought it all." He was ironically laughing about it, but then he said that given how hard so many small businesses are having it right now, he was glad to be able to help even if in a small way. Teazen sent him a large supply of its lemon kombucha packets to share with his BTS brothers. Sales increased by 1800% - selling out a month's supply of the drink. I read that Costco Korea started limiting how much of the drink customers could buy.
- On the subject of One in an Army - they sort of serve as the originator of ARMY charity projects. They choose a charity every month for ARMY to support all month, and they also choose a charity for each BTS member's birthday. Individual country/member fan clubs also organize events and fundraisers, but the way One in an Army (that's what the "OIAA" that you asked about stands for) works is that they research member/BTS interests, find lesser-known charities that would most benefit from an influx of funds, organize how to donate, and then publish details on social media. They do not collect money themselves. OIAA also has a Google sheet that they make available for ARMY to input any and all donations/charitable efforts made, and then they report out how much was donated, what projects were done - both through the OIAA charity projects and outside of that. You can find them on Twitter.

There's a saying ARMY have. I might've not been here since the beginning, but I will be here til the end.

You find them when you need them the most. Even RM said even the new fans support them because the fans know the struggle from the blogs, so in a way fans are from the beginning with us. GOD I LOVE THIS FAMILY/FANDOM 💜🇺🇲🤟💜
How to make the Korean "Mini-Heart": 1) Hold your arm straight out in front of you. 2) Make a fist (palms up). 3) Make a "V" with your thumb and forefinger. There, you DID IT!! 💜💜💜

Thanks for taking a deeper look into ARMY, and for your BTS reactions. Your willingness to look beyond your musical preferences is so, so appreciated. As ARMY since 2016, and now 68 yrs old, I’m amazed at BTS’s ability to draw so many fans from music aficionados whose musical tastes are so diversified. It’s one of their gifts, I think, that their talent is so great that they can create fans from skeptics.
I am in the 4% :) I am 62 years old this month and have been enjoying BTS for more than a year. I enjoyed their music videos (ON was my rabbit hole) but what made me ARMY (fullfledged membership - the whole nine yards) was the song We are Bulletproof - The Eternal. I wanted to belong to something that beautiful. I love the music but I also love the message these fine young men send out. They are genuine in their love for their fans and so very humble..... its refreshing :) Makes me excited to wake up in the morning :).
you're amazing Fey, i hope this morning is especially exciting! 💜
I'm 40+ been here in this purple rabbit hole for almost 4 years.
I’m another in the 4% over 50. While I have enjoyed other artists for their music over the years, BTS and their message and attitudes are the first in my life who have made me truly an all-in fan.
You nailed it- but don't you think it astounding how many times you see a similar comment about BTS from people? There is truly something going on here, and my hope is that it keeps spreading and helping shape a better world.
I'm 36 and damn proud to be an Army!!
I am 60 year old army from U.K. 💜💜💜💜💜
I am a 64 year old woman and have been a fan of BTS for four years. Thank you for continuing to react to BTS and because you like the lights so much, you should watch some of the ARMY fan chants. The ARMY Bombs are connected thru their phones which is how they change colors. I don’t know if I explained it correctly though.💜💜💜💜💜💜
Yes! i've had a few people mention the fan chants. before i dive more into that I really want to sink my teeth in and finish the rap line, i've been dabbling slowly but i can't stop my cravings lolol 💜💜
Me too! 64 years and these delightful young men are my favorite entertainers and so much more. They bring hope for our future and ARMY demonstrates just how hungry we all are for a caring, realistically positive, supportive culture to live in!
Hahahaha also the lady and the guy who spoke about ARMY were Halsey and MAX, 2 artists who collabed with BTS on other songs. The professor speaking is Dr. Jiyoung Lee, shes a Philosophy professor ARMY who wrote the book "BTS: Art Revolution"

I'm 28 yr old and I've never been so happy to be part of this family 💜BTS and ARMY continue to grow and achieve great things together =)

I am 37, I was introduced to BTS by my daughter a couple yrs ago, but just started listening to them last yr. The first song I heard was Fake Love which I liked but never really dove into their music. My daughter would play songs here and there in the car and I would listen to it when it was on. Than last yr I decided to really looked into the music and the more music I listened to, I also started to learn more about each member individually. I have come to love each member and the group as a whole. I am so glad that I decided to learn more about BTS and what they stand for. There is no going back now...haha 💜💜💜
I'M 69 and only found them a year ago. Love their music and them. Such positive and humble mem. they are not only a groujp but a family. Just a side note when on one of Jungkook's live streams he was drinknking something and he said liked it soon after it was sold out and even he couldn't get it. The woman you asked about is Halsey and is featured in BTS's Boy With Love. video
Lemon flavored kombucha tea! The small company is doing quite well these days due to that! They were one of the sponsors, along with Samsung and Hyundai, listed for the latest tv interview program, Let's BTS. I have to smile at that turn of events!
I'm 25 years old and Army since about half of a year. It was the best decision ever💜
Idk if anyone answered your question but OIAA is One In An ARMY, the name of the ARMY charity organization who help to inform and organize where ARMY members can donate to charities around the world.
OIAA is “One In A Army” the Army charity organization. It is is marked as separate because some Army donates to charities independently and not a part of the Army run organization,
I'm 45 and ARMY. I'm always sorry to hear about toxic comments from people who think they're ARMY when in fact they go against everything BTS stands for.
I'm currently advocating for ARMY to police itself and report toxic comments, content and accounts to either the platform or Hybe (formerly Big Hit Entertainment), whichever may be appropriate. Not only for the sake of ARMY, but also very much for the sake of the guys, who often see it and are greatly affected by it, as last seen with Jimin's breakdown.
Lastly I hope that people recognise that some of the hate comments are posted by other fandoms and antis seeking to discredit BTS and ARMY. But no matter who they are, please help combat the haters.

I'm in a group of 30+ proud and passionate ARMY for 5 years now!
All you need to do to be Army is genuinely enjoy BTS's music. Since BTS related content draws so much attention from fans you see a lot of people just using them for clout. As long as you enjoy the music and are respectful, Army will welcome you with open arms. And not all of their music speaks to everyone. Some people get in through their hip hop, some through their more bubblegum pop, but ultimately when you realize the hard work and dedication they've put in and see the bigger message they're trying to send that's when a lot of people become Army.

Dynamite was played more on the radio cuz it was in English, but in comparison to western acts, it still was largely blacklisted by western radio. LGO had almost none, which proves that the industry is xenophobic. BTS refuse to take part in payola, and the industry hates them for that, so BTS are pretty much not allowed to be played on a lot of radio stations cuz they are trying to push BTS out of the western music market.
"I didn't know what the hell BTS was and then someone recommended me one song...and like 6 weeks later here I am every day I'm just diving in deeper..."

I do love her informative videos, such great content. When I am down, the love that I know ARMY feels for each other comforts me because I know that somewhere out there, there is someone that I can relate to sending good vibes into the universe and spreading kindness. 💜
she's SO good!!! i dont know if i would have even given her content a real shot if you all didn't push me to watch that first video!!
Thats the thing that amazes me the most, is that almost every light in their concerts is a fan holding an army bomb
I'm 61 and a huge BTS fan and there are lots of fans even in their 70's or older.
I'm 41 years old and I'm a proud ARMY💜Thank you for your reaction🙏💜

50+. Jonny, we got to get us some ARMY bombs! I am holding on to my money because Big Hit has confirmed a comeback in May with a single and an album to follow, and also long awaited mixtapes from probably V and Jungkook. Awaiting final confirmation and dates. 💜

34 years old, became army at 29 years old. FYI the people you asked who they are - the female is singer Halsey, you have probably heard her music even if you don't know her name. The male is singer Max, a little less known than Halsey but he has done a couple of collabs with Suga and pretty good
oh yeah i love halsey! i guess i just didnt know what she really looked like lol

The beautiful gal is Halsey. She was in “Boys with luv”. The guy is Max. Suga did a part in his video “Blueberry eyes”. Vocal only.
And Max is also on Sugas aka Agust D album D-2. The track is called 'burn it' 😊

I’m 54 and I’m huge ARMY. Most of the ARMY I know are 40+. BTS has the absolute most positive messages. I wish I had had them when I was young.

I’m 40 years old Army for 6 years now
37 years old army right here 👋🏻 so proud of them and Army 💜
What Raquel Arcienega (below) said plus im 60 XD. Plse ignore the negative ppl. You have them in every single walk of life. Because ARMY is so big, you just have more of them clustered here. Truth be told, it is against what ARMY stands for and those ppl automatically negate themselves as ARMY by doing so. xxxoooo
I am a proud 51 yo ARMY. BTS came into my life in 2017 and brought back to my life HOPE in this world. I will be thankful for the rest of my life. .. I feel priviledged to be witnessing and enjoying this EXTRAORDINARY assamble of human beings & artists, and to be part of this family called ARMY. As I always state: BTS & ARMY= the most epic love story ever. Saranghae!
The two people you wanted to know the identity of were Halsey and Max. They're both popular artists here in America and have done collaborations with BTS.
YESS I like Halsey i just... i guess i don't really know what she looks like lol i like her songs though
I’m 77yr old proud Army. Love from Finland 💜💜💜

I’m 39 years old and a proud BTS ARMY since 2018.
I'm a teenager. I became an ARMY in 2017 and it was the best thing that happened to me.
BTS journey ☺️ you do you. The point is to enjoy yourself. So even if we suggest stuff, best that you let your instincts take you through it. Being part of ARMY is also a choice you make yourself. I knew I was a fan from the get go but I wasn't sure of I would call myself ARMY till a little later on because I wasn't sure if I was as active and invested as the people I see but basically the love you have for these guys will help you decide what's best for you. For me, they helped me help myself, that probably why I and many others feel strongly about them. Anyways, a lot of us experienced transformative change because of BTS and honestly we just want to share that with other people. So I hope you find happiness in your experience with BTS ☺️
I'm 53yo ARMY..💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I'm 61 years old and like a lot of different music. BTS is to me very special.
Good to have you here Chris! Keep rockin!
I'm in the 4% and 65 yrs young. My husband is 70 and he enjoys as well.
Henny you and your husband are legends! 💜
Antis: armys are hormonal teenagers
John Cena: *eyeing antis* that's what you think?
A spin is how many time it’s payed on US radio. So Life Goes On was only played 6 times on any US radio station while Dynamite was played over 1,000 times. It makes the achievement of Billboard #1 much satisfying for ARMY because radio play help a lot. When people hear the song on radio and they like it, they would want to hear it again so they might it up which would give the song more plays and more points towards charting
