I highly recommend reacting to a recent live they posted called BTS Room Live. It is about ten minutes long and is a medley of songs from 2013 to 2020, so it gives you a really good taste of their musical variety in terms of sound as well as a nice look at their live vocals.

But I mean BigHit isnt as small anymore though ... The company progressed with BTS they are now called HYBE labels and they just bought ithaca holdings recently so they now own a big chunk of western artist under their belt. Justin Bieber ,Ariana grande, Demi lovato and Blackeyed peas are now their company friends. Their CEO is such a great person he actually offered each of the members of BTS to have a portions of shares of HYBE before they became public with their IPO so technically they also have a huge amount of say and how they are presented and honestly they still feel as sincere as they were when they started.

@@zzangzuha Its actually one of the biggest still. And is doing to those big 3 in the USA, what it did to the Big 3 labels in Korea. They’ve sidestepped them. Those Big 3 are still the biggest in Korea but it has become the Big 4 now in Korea because of the success of BigHit. They would most likely do the same in the US because of their growth. Their IPO dwarfed the values of those American labels when they went public.

Nowadays Big Hit is the biggest music entertainment company out of South Korea. They are called Hybe nowadays and they just bought the management company Itchaca which manages Justin Bieber, Arianna Grande, Demi Levato etc. They have contacts with Colombia records, Sony and more. But BTS had said also that they could have gone faster but they choose rather to go on together... Like you said.

    Some good live performances:
    1. Tiny desk concert (has CC’s)
    2. Film Out (there are 2 new live performances on their channel, and both are amazing)
    3. 2019 MMA performance of Dionysus (literally just an athletic feat to sing and do that choreo together)
    4. Anpanman (super fun but meaningful song)
    5. Go Go (super fun but meaningful song)
    6. Black Swan from The Tonight Show (has CC’s)
    7. Home from The Tonight Show (has CC’s)
    8. On: Grand Central Station
    Good MVs:
    1. On: kinetic manifesto film
    2. Blood, Sweat, and Tears
    3. Black Swan
    4. Boy with Luv
    5. Fire
    Fun dance practices:
    1. Baepsae (better if you watch the one with English subs. The lyrics are amazing)
    2. Go Go halloween version
For understanding some of their newer album series:
For the Love Yourself series, you can watch these solo songs in order to understand the story being told-
    1. Euphoria
    2. Serendipity
    3. Singularity
    4. Epiphany
You can also watch these group songs in order:
    1. DNA
    2. Fake Love
    3. Idol
For the Map of the Soul series, these 3 songs express Jung’s Map of the Soul theory:
    1. Persona
    2. Shadow
    3. Ego
All of their solo work is also amazing. Suga goes by Agust D for his mixtape stuff, but everyone else is the same.
I also highly recommend watching their Carpool Karaoke, Flinch, and Buzzfeed puppy interview to quickly get to know their personalities. TH-cam likely won’t let you post it here, but just for your own sake to get to know them. They’re not long videos.

As a 23yo female, I have been a part of many fandoms over the years, and I have NEVER been part of a fandom as kind, caring, and active as ARMY. I also have never seen an artist that talks about how much they appreciate their fans so much. One of the members put it as "I feel like even though I don't know every ARMY personally, we are still friends" which was very sweet. BTS has done so much for me in terms of growing as a person and overcoming my depression and anxiety, not to mention the fact that they have made me drastically more open-minded when it comes to life. I truly feel like when it comes to BTS, there is something for every type of person as they cover so many different styles of music.

1:35 well respect begets respect. Many people tend to say that our fandom is too toxic and don't want to get close to us but, NO. We have such a loving and welcoming community, Yeah we have toxic side like every fandom does but this fandom was thought by BTS to be respectful and loving person. We're not just enjoying their music but also learn and grow through their messages💜

      Totally agree and good point.
I also wanted to mention that ARMY is really really big and worldwide. I believe their is more that 15 million + active fans (I am fairly new to BTS so I don’t know the number very well so correct me if I am wrong), but their are tons of us. So yes their are toxic fans but that is like 5% of the ARMY. Yes, for how big the fan base is their is a lot of toxic fans but definitely not compared to how many positive ones their are.

RM, SUGA, J-Hope - the rappers of the group - are credited as songwriters and composers almost in all BTS songs. RM is credited as songwriter in 174 songs, SUGA in 124, J-Hope in 112. Vocalists are participating in songwriting as well and all members have experience in producing. One of them - SUGA - is an established producer, who is working as producer with other famous artists as well and winning awards for his work

    • @annemayseyfried8907
      @annemayseyfried8907 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

RM is also an established producer. He was a very young underground rapper + producer solo (orig. a writer + award-winning pre-teen poet) + w/his rap grp, for + with other rappers, like Zico, Drunken Tiger, etc, co-produced w/WalE, Lil Nas, etc. He has touched (co-wrote/co-produced) more songs than any member. Suga's right behind, then JHope. Fans seem to downplay his producing influence.

    • @tylysm9216
      @tylysm9216 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

@@annemayseyfried8907 RM produced 10 songs. SUGA around 40-50. SUGA is the only member who is producing for others and winning awards as producer and he is the only member who is able to produce a song by himself. I guess you are confusing songwriters and producers, which are different things. RM wrote songs for others and credited as songwriter the most out of all members, not as producer. He said himself that it is difficult for him to produce a song and he is more into songwriting. He didn't produce anything with Wale. If you are talking about his collab with Wale "Change", then it is produced by Pdogg. What did he produce with Lil Nas? He doesn't have collabs with him yet, except for "Old Town Road", which is produced by YoungKio, Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross. "Timeless" by Drunken Tiger feat. RM is produced by Loptimist. "Fuck Cockoroachez" with Zico is actually a cover of other song, original is by DMX
Please learn the difference between songwriters and producers and how to read credits. It is very easy and after that you won't be confused about this topic anymore :)

To get the most out of their music videos like "Spring Day" or "Idol" or "Blood, Sweat and Tears" you should watch an "explained" video as the symbolism goes so deep. That's not even to mention the on-going BTS universe storyline that underlies all their earlier works. Their Tiny Desk Concert from NPR is essentially a live recording. They are sitting around in a small studio with a live band behind them just singing Three of their songs. The first one is Dynamite which is their other English language hit single from last summer. Both of these are designed as mood lifters. The other two songs, Save Me and Spring Day have a much more solemn tone and a lot of deep thoughts.

SUGA was signed as producer and later was convinced to become member. Right now he works as producer at the same time as he is member of the group. He is working with very famous Korean artists and won multiple awards like "best producer", "best r&b", "song of the year", etc. SUGA and RM were undeground rappers. RM was active in undeground hip hop scene since he was 14. RM wrote lyrics for other artists in their company. J-Hope, RM, SUGA write music since pre-debut. They are credited as songwriters since first album. All three of them have solo career as well, they release their mixtapes for free, these mixtapes are written by them and in SUGA's case also produced by him. All members can play different instruments. For example, V learned saxophone when he was a kid. Jin plays piano and guitar. Jungkook plays guitar and learning drums. Jimin learned piano. SUGA however is the only member who plays an instrument fluently at a performing level - piano. He is also learning guitar right now and thinks about learning how to play drums. They are all-rounded musicians and they truly love music

She covers, quite well, each member. I love them all, but will say that Jimon is my ultimate bias and JHope is my wrecker. Please continue on this amazing journey. I promise that you won't be sorry. Thanks for watching this and taking the time to learn more about the Boys. I can see your overall respect for them continue to grow. 😁 My family thinks I'm crazy for stanning these Kings but they are spreading so much positivity in the world and I believe that with ARMY can bring about world peace. 😂 I know how you feel, I watched about 5 videos and a few guides and joined ARMY. I never paid for any fan membership..ever but I was compelled to do so to support what they do. I will definitely subscribe to your channel because I love hearing music experts react to them because they are geniuses. I mean, really intelligent artists. I love art with intelligence behind it and music that inspires that's a bop!!! I see a lot of comparison to early Motown with them. You will soon learn they will inspire you in so many ways. People will suggest songs and there are tons to watch and listen to.

Just found you...thanks for your kind words about BTS and ARMY. BTS have an amazingly varied discography. For a small teaser of song variety you may want to watch ‘BTS Room Live’ which was just one of their gifts to ARMY during their latest 8th anniversary celebrations (Festa). (FYI a small correction re this intro - BTS debuted on 13 June 2013 in Korea, not the 12th, which is the US date.) Look forward to you hearing more. Also, the Ida S channel has a great intro to the seven members of BTS...it’s really recent (2021) and shows their individual skills/styles. I’m a 60 music lover, ex teacher/ project coordinator and my ARMY friends (in real life) range from 16 years, 23 years and other 40-60+ year olds, people with great taste in music! BTS 💜 ARMY and ARMY 💜 BTS. Subscribed...see you again.

To find out more about the members watch 'The most beautiful life goes on: The story of BTS'. You will be amazed. They really are pioneers in music. For me it is not just the amazing voices, songs and lyrics but the meaning and sincerity behind all they do. It's not all love songs and when you get past a certain point in the catalogue they virtually stop singing about 'girls' so songs can relate to family, friends bf or gf. Very inclusive. Can't wait for your reaction to my recommendation!☺💜

    Hi ,
thank you for listening to bts and doing a reaction this is for you 💜
    😉
    Intro:

BTS = Beyond the scene (in English) = Bangtan Seoyeondan (in Korean) aka Bulletproof Boy Scouts (translated)
    7 members

    (3 rappers & 4 vocalists) RM , Jin , Suga , J-hope , Jimin , V , Jungkook
purple is BTS and ARMY color
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜purple is BTS and ARMY color

the fans : "ARMY" = Adorable representative m.c for youth = the fans

    💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
💜 They cover lots of different genres, so, hopefully, you find the ones that are according to your style.that’s why we say “ bts -genres”

    Here's something for the beginners😉💜:
Turn on the CC (Eng sub). (Wordplays are amazing).

Watch BTS or any mixtape produced by

    HYBE Label / Bangtantv

(HYBE is the company name but it used to be Big Hit ). You can start from there.
and for some songs you will not find the MV because it's a B-side of the album but you can watch the lyrics video

Always watch from start to the very end of each video. No SKIPPING. Never ever assume video ends. (You might missed out on the crucial message)

WE 💜love💜 it if you get to know them by watching:
    1) An introduction to the 7 members of BTS (2021 update)
    th-cam.com/video/kGRlqyuky2s/w-d-xo.html
NOTE: even if you react to an hour long video of BTS, ARMY will still stay throughout the whole thing. We live to see YOUR journey.

    2) BTS From nobodies to legends 👇

    th-cam.com/video/SrI4AvkABm4/w-d-xo.html

    3) BTS Hardships 👇

    th-cam.com/video/EdY6wnLsetQ/w-d-xo.html

    4) BTS contribution to music

    th-cam.com/video/sBuKOYYanRk/w-d-xo.html

All music videos, have meanings/theories/explanations if you need to understand further.

    You can refer to:
    Dkdktv or Xceleste

(they tend to make it simpler for you to understand)

All mvs have behind the scenes if you want to know whether they use CGI or real props (mainly real).

All songs have deep or even double meanings. That's the reason why ARMY's 💜LOVE💜 the lyrics of every song.

    BTS have a music storyline

(BU content/fictional story) that might be too much to digest for someone who is new to BTS. Imagine how many of us are learning stuffs like psychology, going through books, making up theories here and there.

They have lots of songs (abt 300).

They have Korean albums and Japanese albums.

There are mixtapes, cyphers, solos, covers, commercials, collaborations,

amazing LIVE performances, OST, storyline, Webtoon,

    own variety shows like

Bon Voyage, Run BTS (more than 100 episodes), Burn the stage, ...

The members also have anime characters of themselves called the "Tiny Tan".
Also another cute bunch of characters that they created called BT21.

    Advise:

ARMYs tend to get excited once they find your channel and start requesting to react to the epic, LIVE performance or Award shows.

Do note, try not to watch the LIVE performance (such as MAMA OR MMA the award shows) too soon.

In my opinion, Live performances are best watched once you have seen the mv itself or at least know the songs before you see LIVE version . That way, your journey will be a lot more fulfilling/worthwhile.

Again, that was just my opinion.

Anyway, I understand if you react to other stuffs too. So, yes, take your time in knowing BTS. Do at your own pace. It is your channel.
The info that we give is to show you HOW & WHY,

    we(ARMY) 💜love💜 BTS

    Good luck!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜sorry it's long 😋

I'm a sixty-eight-year-old ARMY. BTS brought self-love to the forefront of listeners' minds. Loving oneself is difficult because we know our insufficiencies and often find ourselves spiritually unattractive. It's easy to forget our good attributes when looking in the mirror. We should extend respect to others because they are human beings facing their own issues - therefore, they deserve our understanding. People tend to view themselves more critically than others, which leads us to judge ourselves more harshly than we deserve. Self-love is critical for a progressive life - becoming a better person day by day. Humility should be practiced to engage fairly with others. And you can't love someone else until you love yourself. If you love yourself, you will be a better person.
And the members conversed directly with their fans via Weverse, vlogs, and videos. Because their messages are positive [there are plenty of sad statements that result in a life lesson.].
Thank you for your video and the insights therein. Welcome to the uplifting BTS and the world the members wish to help create.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this brief history/biography of the group. BTS and their label have a pretty symbiotic relationship - it’s probably safe to say that they made each other big, and it’s no wonder that the members chose to re-sign with BigHit when they chose to continue as a band. Many Korean “idol groups” see out their 7-year contracts and then members often choose to branch off into music production, acting, hosting/televison gigs, instead of continuing to poor blood, sweat and tears into the punishing rehearsal and promotion schedules for the kinds of music shows typical of this industry. The energy and discipline required to maintain their output levels is almost inhuman.
It’s not surprising that you mentioned the strange possibility of being a fan of a group after only heard one song, simply because of the kind of people they appear to be. I think where it comes to BTS, fans love them greatly for their music but also for who they are as people. It’s rare that you can find and keep together a group of people who are both talented and compassionate. If it weren’t for a serendipitous combination of factors, I don’t think this group would have existed, and from interviews, the members themselves feel the same way. It has been a decade since the first members met and 8 years since they have been professionally active as group. With today’s ever-shortening attention spans, this has been a very long time to be around for.
I suspect that BTS will be a once-in-a-generation phenomenon, and I’m just glad to be around to witness it.

You are pleasantly surprised at how welcoming Army has been to you despite your ho-hum reaction the first time you entered the rabbit hole with Butter. And it is really a no brainer as to why because we take after the men who have sacrificed their youth to bring messages of self love, acceptance and affirmation. Thru their growth they have remained humble and grateful, something not seen with other artists who may have reached their level of fame. I, too, was skeptical when I first started getting into BTS but they have since won me over and I have not looked back since. Their discography is very, very diverse. They are not boxed into a genre so there are a lot of music to choose from. Welcome to the fam. All you need to do is appreciate BTS, their music and embrace your journey of discovery. I'm a 45 yo mom and my 3 kids (5, 8 & 9) love BTS. After watching so many MV and documentaries of them makes me fall in love with them. And now I would sing and dance with kids whenever we hear BTS songs. I also have a co-parent who is an army and yes we share common love for BTS. We even have a BTS playlist that is always being played in the car....and I'm not complaining. All their songs are all loved. I'm so happy that BTS were handled by Bang PD. He was indeed a good person that's why he was blessed to have BTS and BTS to have Bang PD. I admire how the boys stick to Big Hit Entertainment in the early days while they were struggling because others could have given up given with that situation that time. I'm glad they endured it and has given extra patience to all their struggles...and look at them now...I'm just one proud and happy fan cheering for all their achievements and will always support them. I believe in this boys and will continue believing and supporting them. I love their humble beginnings and how they still stay humble till now. God bless BTS. and more Success to them all.

I really liked your reaction! I'm really happy you decided to give BTS a chance and took the time to understand more about them.
BTS has a variety of music with a wide range of genres and with different messages as well.
Some of their MVs are slightly difficult to understand fully at first, but all (or at least almost all) of their songs have messages so don't forget to watch/listen to them with the subtitles turned on. Even the scenes in Music Videos can signify things!
They have only 2 songs completely in English till now, although their songs usually incorporate small bits of English. Their first English song was Dynamite, and Butter (the one you heard) was the second one.
I really can't choose a song to recommend for you to react to, but guessing that you may like songs with more deep meanings, I suggest their Korean music. Maybe their most recent Korean song "Life Goes On" about the recent pandemic or "Black Swan" which is about their fear to lose their love for music. All of their songs are really amazing though!

BTS is IMMUNE to "the industry" because ARMY is the power. RM in Butter said "Got ARMY right behind when we say so" came from somewhere 💜 we've shown "the industry" that we and BTS dont need it HOWEVER we are hell bent on making sure their legacy is recognized.

Hi! Thankyou for this reaction :) i am a girl, I live in Belgium 🇧🇪, I am 16 years old and my bias is Yoongi (but I love them all for sure!!) I am now almost 7 months an Army and I am so much happier than before. I feel loved, appreciated and I can’t describe my love for the boys. Actually my best friend introduced me to them but first I didn’t pay attention but then I listened to some songs and the song that led me into Army was MIC Drop. I remember the first night of being an Army and I was watching sooo much videos of them. I cried so much and I was mad at myself that I didn’t pay attention to them before. The next morning I was so happy that I could watch en listen BTS again. They really helped me so much. Sometimes I have struggles with mental health, anxiety and self love and they really help me with this. The message that they spread and their personalities and just everything. They make me dream and smile again that nobody could do to me before. When I’m lonely, I watch them, when I’m sad, I watch them e.t.c.. Some of my fav songs are lights, answer: love myself and outro: wings. I am going to love them for my whole live :) Also I am really thankful for Army. Wow, what an amazing fandom that I’ve never seen before. We are really awesome so I really can’t describe it. Hope someday I can go to a BTS concert and Korea. These are some of my new dreams.

What I realized after being part of the Army for years, it's that how sincere and open BTS are about everything they do it's a big part of their success
I mean, even when it comes to mental health something that's still a little bit of taboo in South Korea, they have talked about depression, anxiety and things like how the pressure that come with fame almost made them take the decision of disbanding in 2018.
They have shared their journey with the fans even before they debuted, RM the leader of the group was a well known rapper on the underground scene and the group was created around him taking a rap crew concept, this changed around 2011, the original members left and only RM and Suga stayed, after that more members, this time singers and dancers, joined the group becoming BTS.
The members have openly talked about the difficult pre-debut time in songs and in livestreams, also they have shared what they want to accomplish, the reason behind those goals and sometimes even the obstacles they may face, so Army know when and how show support.

Kudos to you good sir, that once you caught sight of a popular phenomena that is not centred around your own culture, that you are actually investigating it, instead of trying to find explanations as to why it is valid -- from your own American perspectives -- like so many others. It continues to baffle me that some persist on thinking that they exploded “suddenly”. They've been around for 8 years. This isn’t against the TH-camr here. He is a victim of a highly ethnocentric environment after all, which makes what he is doing here so much more admirable, as he is going against the grain. THANK YOU!

Hi from Paris ! I am in my eighties - though I don’t look so - and since 2016 I am a huge fan of BTS group. In June 2019, I was lucky enough to see them on stage in our main stadium in Paris. It was the night of my life. The rap line - RM, Suga and J-Hope is the best rap line on earth, and their singers line is made of 4 great voices. But maybe, taking in account their 7 individual talent - they are 7 Beyonces - the senergy and chemistry between the boys create a magnetic magic mixing positivity, poetry, energy, great lyrics and all of it produced by themselves. All their tracks are good but I would check the following tracks : Housse of Cards, The truth untold, Idol, Fire, Dope, Young forever, On, Black Swan, Blood, Sweat and tears… and preferably live … I know you will fall in the rabbit hole … happily! Have a nice journey !

I’m one of the older group of Army...been here since N.O. which is a social awareness song. It sold me hard. And I am 49. Love these guys!

BTS are the true underdogs that made it to the top. The fans worked hard to spread their music sort of like a grassroots movements.

When you were talking about the BTS merch, I wanted to let you know, its such good quality that the shirts can go up to 50$. Honestly, I look at their shop on Weverse and the merch is so nice that they could have their own clothes brand.

BTS Butter has now spent 5 weeks at number 1 on the billboard hot 100 chart in the US. Breaking Aerosmith's record of the longest run for a debut number 1 song by a group. Also if you are interested BTS is releasing a new song on July 9th called Permission to Dance that we believe was worked on by Ed Sheeran. They actually have another song co-written by Ed Sheeran called Make It Right from 2019. I would also recommend watching the An introduction to the 7 members of BTS (2021 update) by Ida S. It tells you more about the members as individuals. Their company isn't small anymore, it's worth billions now and BTS are part owners of it now too.

If you want to know more about each members individual contributions, I really recommend Ida S's who are the seven members of bangtan video, very informative and very recently updated!
Love your reactions! I reccommend their Live room BTS festa (7 song medley starting with older songs) and their "ON" performance at grand central station!

I stumbled upon them last year and my understanding of them was the same as you in the beginning. It was so interesting to learn more about them and how much they worked for this and their positive messages. A lot of their Korean songs and music videos have deep meanings and even explanation videos made for them!

Another thing I love about them whenever there are things to celebrate they will celebrate it with us. Just like when they went to U.S. for billboard & grammy right after the show they went online to celebrate it with us. They shared how they felt & experienced & most importantly, they expressed their gratitude to us. As you go deep dive in their journey, you will wake up one day having that special connection with them... that we are in this journey together... that we are part of it 💜

I am a 51 year old woman who loves BTS. You're my favorite reactor and I just subscribed. Trust me, you ain't going back ; I haven't since I saw them at the AMA awards in 2017. And watching this video, you reminded me of the way I felt diving into their background etc. My whole family are fans now. Welcome to the Army family!

something we got to know in the past year is that bts themselves thought it'd be super hard to get along with each other because they are extremely different from each other but even still, when they were between 14-19, they managed to work it trough and eventually became a family, as they like to say
this is something that makes me think how mature and career oriented they must have at that age and also how mindful of the fact that people are different and we must respect that

"No matter who you are, where you're from, your skin color, your gender identity, just speak yourself. Find your name and find your voice by speaking yourself." - Kim Namjoon of BTS
He also said, music transcend everything. Regardless of your skin color, your race, your nationality. Kinda funny that you brought up something similar...
Welcome to the family, Dude. Love from a 45 y.o. mom of two from across the globe.

I don't speak or understand Korean BUT I appreciate music of all types. I am 65 and found BTS this time last year. My first initiation was an award show MMA 2019 (just put bts in front and you should get the full performance) have your water ready and maybe oxygen. That sold me then the next was Micdrop remix with Steve Aoki.

They brought that small struggling near-bankrupt company to the top of Korean entertainment companies. Their company went public and is among the big players on the Korean Exchange with Samsung and other large companies. They also just recently just bought out Justin Bieber/Ariana Grande/Demi Lovato/J Balvin (and many others) US management company this year. The guys are multi-millionaires and their founder is on the billionaires' list. Each and everyone has remained humble.
