RESET GOPRO WIFI PASSWORD

I've recently needed to reset the WiFi password on both my GoPro HERO3 and HERO3+. I didn't like how long that process took, so I wanted to make it easier. Below you'll find links to the script and config file to update your GoPro WiFi passwords.

THANKS FOR THE VID IT REALLY HELPED ME OUT. We had a problem originally because we used other videos that we created the ssid and password. We finally figured out that you have to use the "file folder" not the duplicate folder. If you do it just doesn't work. The Vlog stuff was a little weird in front like the guy said below but, I would watch it no problem because you were are life saver with this time. Thanks Man!

it works, thanks a lot for sharing. Just need to remember the Wifi password needs to be at least 8-character long, otherwise the GoPro will say "Camera update failed"

Works great with HERO3+, however the file name was UPDATE(1),
I am not sure if I had to but I renamed the file to UPDATE as was
shown in the video!!!

well done, worked perfect after i created a file in the root and named it UPDATE as the files in the zip on the hero 3+ are not in a folder, but its an easy thing to do, just create the folder and cut and paste the two files into it.
works perfect now thanks.
the guy on ebay i got it from forgot the pw and this had me up and running in a pinch.

allow advanced security permissions of the .in file on your PC before editing user/password or it may not save as a .in file but a .txt which will fail to update. Worked fine for my Hero3 white edition.

Hmmm...not working on my 3+Black I just picked up used on Amazon. Tried both methods you mentioned. First copy/pasted the extracted 'Update' folder with modified 'Settings' file and 'Update.10' file to the SD card root...no go. Tried the individual file method for the hell of it...no go. i never get the "updating wifi" screen you show. Phone app still see's the GoPro as previous owners name. Tried this before and after updating from software 3.0 to 3.03. Any ideas?

For what I can see you have the same model as mine (3Black+). Do EXACTLY AS THE VIDEO SAYS, don't miss one step. Use the instructions for this model, not the 3 nor the 4, the 3BLACK+. IT WORKS

Hi. Do you have anything on how to fix a GoPro 3+ black edition that freezes up, turns on and off an freezes again? I've tried taking the battery out and while holding the record button replace the battery and press the on button to get it to work, but to no avail. I know it's not the battery and it's not the memory card. Please help.

It says that the update failed? I don't know what i did wrong, I downloaded the file, Then i opened it and changed my password and username and then i saved it. And then i copied it to my gopro micro ship. I copied it just where it sayd DCIM or something like that not in that file though. :/ Could you give me any advice? Or am i too late?
