    THanks for this helpful video. I have been able to figure out a lot of things in using my cricut just by poking around in Design Space or watching a quick video. Not so with designing my own cards! Your video revealed all the secrets and I'm now designing my own Holiday Cards--so thanks!

    WOW! thank you! I've wanted to make my own design for a long time... for sympathy cards for my doggie friends.... for thank you to firefighters that saved doggies or kitty cats..... etc... none of the available selections work... I couldn't figure out how to modify or make my own! Thanks Carole!

    Thanks Carole, as I was watching this, I thought it would be better to cut card without the insert first, then apply the insert after weeding.

    • @CarolesCricutCrafts
      @CarolesCricutCrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      actually the insert is what keeps the little pieces like the inside of the o and a etc in place. Without the insert you would need to use stencil fonts like the insert cards

  • @michiganlighthouse
    @michiganlighthouse 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well explained. I like how you repeat the basic steps time and again to help me imprint them in my feeble brain. Now, two things. I noticed the finished cards can't be curled away from the mat to keep them pristine. I noted,, aside from that first one, none of the cards came out cleanly from the new mat. The mat cannot be curled away from the card to keep the card pristine. Yep. I'm one of those! Secondly, I have the new mat, but can I use it to make these cards without having to buy the card kits? (I've used my Maker3 to make these cards, but I sure would like to use the new mat, but use my own pre-made cards). Thanks!

    Carole where is your download link for the card sizes, I’d love to have it as I forget them all the time. Great video I’ve been dying to do my own cards on my machines so thank you for your tutorial. Carey.

    I plan on making my own. But can I use a whole horse cut file as an image to cut away? I seen you use a cut only heart, that was solid. I am guessing yes.

  • @annewatman677
    @annewatman677 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ve got some pre-made cards that I was using to make my own cards in Affinity Designer (similar to Illustrator), and then print on my Epson inkjet printer. I would like to see if I could combine that with cut-out images, and I think I can, but no one is showing how they would do that. My cards are 5x7 inches folded or 10x7 when opened flat.
    I’ve thought about printing some of the text ahead of time, on the inside, just because I don’t have to worry about finding “writing” fonts for the pens. You are making think I can figure this out.

    Thank you for your detailed instructions! Do you know if Cricut sells the adhesive sheet separately so that you can use different cardstock as your card base or do you have to use the card kits?

    • @cherwingate
      @cherwingate 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been wondering that too. It would be wonderful to have the freedom to choose any cardstock and backer paper combination--and maybe cheaper to DIY.

      One video showed the crafter using repositional glue dots to attach the insert card. The dots rub off of the cut areas.

    I'm trying to make a 3.5x4.9 card using the premade corners. What dimensions do I put the corners at to have the insert fit properly into the card? The joy knows exactly where to put it and I'm new with using my air to make cards.
