There’s a new way to create cards with a Cricut cutting machine…and I’m not talking about the Joy! It’s the new “Cricut two by two card mat!” This is an innovative and reusable machine mat that holds pre-folded cards in a special way that cuts ONLY the card front, making card making easier and faster.
The Cricut 2x2 Card mat works with pre-cut and pre-folded Cricut Insert Cards, Cutaway Cards, and Foil Transfer Cards, as well as cardstock that you pre-cut and fold yourself.
A larger-sized card mat that works with the Cricut Maker and Explore Series is something so many have been asking for and it’s finally here! The new two by two mat can cut up FOUR CARDS at one time! How cool is that? Everyone knows I love testing out new products and I have learned A LOT experimenting with the new, larger mat and all the new card sizes! I’ve made some mistakes along the way and gone through a lot of materials…but all in an effort to make your crafting experience more fun and less fuss…
So first, the basics. The Cricut two by two card mat measures 13 inches by 16 and one quarter inches. You can use all four areas at one time or just one panel if that’s all you need. The mat works with all the Maker machines and Explore series machines.

I did it! I used my own cardstock and made your 4 designs! I used: #1 - fuschia with white glitter insert; #2 - medium purple with deep purple glitter; #3 - medium blue with bright blue glitter; #4 - deep yellow with orange glitter insert. They are gorgeous and I'm so happy. 😍 TY. Not saying I zipped right through it (had to learn to find the files, learn to download to my MAC), but I took a couple of breaks and stuck with it. I am new to Cricut have a Maker3 I got for Christmas 2022. My husband saw it in a store, didn't know what it was (neither did I) but thought I'd like it. I DO!!! I'm 73, btw. If I can do it, so can you all.

I’m brand new to Cricut and have my first machine. Okay, not my first. 10 years ago I used to use the Cricut Cake to cut frosting sheets and polymer clay. Yes, I used different blades. I don't have the Cricut, but the Brother. Personally, I print my words out on the cardstock with my regular printer then design my cardstock. Hope, that helps to give you an idea.
This is an amazing tutorial. I just got my cricut card mat two days ago, and I'm finally trying it out. I did make the mistake of moving the Star Wheels too early, and it nearly got my finger lol. But now I have a better understanding. Thanks again for the tutorial!

Thanks for telling us that we can get up to 20 cards on each of the mats. I ordered the new mat and it will come today. I ordered another single mat and now I know why I have ruined so many cards. Not even Cricut has given us this information. You are so helpful. I also love when you say that you make mistakes. It’s so reassuring. I keep wondering what’s wrong with me and will I ever master the Cricut.
Mats are disposable and the fiber from paper will make them loose their tact faster than vinyl. I'm sure you are doing fine. I make mistakes everyday. 😊

I just bought 3 of these! they'll be here on Saturday! I can't WAIT to see if these loose their stick as quickly as all my other mats LOL!! (yeah, I use my maker THAT much :D) The Joy is GREAT for a single quick card, but sometimes I gotta do 20 or more invitations! This mat is gonna be amazing!

This is a great tutorial!! I'd love to see one where you figure out how to write on the inside with the cricut as well. I know you would be able to use this mat, but I like to have the cricut write my messages on the inside.

I was in Hobby Lobby when I first saw the mat. I couldn't resist! I haven't used it as of yet but after watching this I am going to make my Christmas card. How much time will be saved to make four at a time. Jennifer I have to say that I love that you have what your saying at the bottom of the video. I pause and write things down so that I make sure I get it right. I thank you for that. Without your video's I would never have been able to use any of my Cricut machine's so THANK YOU!

If you want Cricut to write (or draw a design) on the inside (for the "sentiment,") do you do that AFTER or before the front cuts? Thank you Jennifer, this is the video I've been hoping for!
I do mine before so that my cut design doesn't get snagged or bent reinserting the card.
