@Grace Coleman I just was watching John play a game called Courage, in an old video-& I remember seeing a comment of yours on there. You were resentful of his critical nature & his humor, to put it mildly. It was so out-of-place in its sudden rage-sandwiched between John & other commenters’ playful additions on the Courage dev’s immaturity-that I had to scroll back up & re-read it just to process what you were even saying in it. Because your strange rant was posted, like, two years ago, I didn’t see any benefit to engaging with it; but seeing you again now on this video with a still old-yet more recent by comparison-comment, my mind is full of questions & I have to ask them. This is too good of a coincidence. So. Did you change your mind about John? If so, what changed your mind about him? Did you continue to follow him just to annoy yourself? If so, why do you think you hurt yourself in this way? What does anger provide for you that takes priority over stabilizing/engaging activities? Did you really feel frustrated that John was making fun of an established rude & untalented dev?, or, did you feel so out of control in your life at that moment, that you knew you’d feel better if you could take it out on someone you’d never have to face in person? Is anyone ever allowed to make fun of someone that is salty towards them, lest they be called “salty” for doing so themselves? 🤔 So many questions! Man, it feels good to finally ask. Thank you for posting on this video so that I could free these preoccupations from my mind. Cheers, & be safe out there.
John, if you're looking for a nice horror game to play, try some of these on Steam: Eversion (excellent 2D platformer that starts out as cute and becomes VERY horror-esque) Harvester (old point-n-click in a strange 1950's town) Knock-Knock (Icepick Lodge's game [they made Pathologic], unique 2D game about playing hide-and-seek while going mad) Pathologic (There's an HD remake that'd last you a long time, but read a guide; it's creepy, but very survival-focused) Reveal the Deep (2D underwater game, go through a wrecked boat and avoid monsters, has a very Lovecraftian vibe) Scratches (old victorian point-and-click horror game, honestly surprised you haven't done this one yet) Year Walk (very unique point-and-click pseudo-horror) Hope this helps! I only recently found your channel and my wife and I love it!
just a note: the cat noises really freaked out my actual cats. otherwise, this was a really cool little game, loved the russian roulette-type flower gun sequence and all the unique, beautiful character designs
And then, after countless asset swaps and copycats, an indie horror game with some kind of aesthetic pops up and feels like a breath of fresh air in a barn full of farts.
>who pissed in their Cheerios? I honestly find it funny in an ironic sort of way when you make a joke and then immediately explain you made a joke and why. It gets me every time. And I say this in the most complimentary way possible!
I don't understand what I just saw! You say it's an indie horror game, but there were no recycled Unity assets, or dark, empty halls, or poofing jumpscare monsters! I guess the Russian roulette flower gun tea party was strange too.
8:50 This tea party gives the Mad Hatter a run for his money. Cool, but weird, game. I liked the cat with the purple-tipped, glowing tail though. Probably my favorite part of this game.
This was fantastic. It just plunges you face first into this world where the rules are unclear but simple, and you're never quite sure when you're safe. Even when I realized that the inhabitants of it weren't all there to kill you, I still jumped whenever something made a noise of you walked too close to-- well, anything really. I do hope this is the precursor to something bigger.
"I'm not a Jehovah's Witness I promise - hey YA GOT ANY EYEBALLS IN HERE?? I'm not crazy" is probably my favourite string of words I've heard anyone say.
12:44 That segment is so dope, I adore how trippy and bonkers it is. All that stuff happens... Then you turn around and nothing is like it was before, and what is there is just ridiculously inexplicable. Truly dream-like.
Quit being so apostist, jawn-jawn, let the rat believe what it wants to believe!! Anyway yeah, cool game. I like the atmosphere and all the models actually look like they were made by the dev, which is a rarity (for good reason in some cases but yeah). I'd be interested in seeing more and where this weird trip goes.
I have been a sub for almost two years now, subbed around when Granny male remake AKA Grandpa video was launched, or at least thats as far as I remember. And I am incredibly grateful to have met this channel. What a funny, genuine person. I wish I had a IRL friend just like you to play some games. Yeah I don't really know what else to say, but yeah, I love you man, wish you all the good in the world and a very successful life
This was my favorite thing you've played in a long time holy crap. I love that it was so random and unique. Sincerely hope there's going to be a full release eventually.
Id guess its supposed to be like "fairy-walk" cause this seems like its supposed be very magical, but i could be wrong. EDIT: don't know if its worth adding but throwing the word into google translate , it goes fair-uh-walk. not sure if you want to trust google translate for pronounciation thou
Well, like John said, it's a made up word and since the developers gave no indication on a way to pronounce it, people are free to interpret/say it how ever they want. No real right answer really.
I LOVE these abstract/surreal horror games. I wish it was longer. I need to see if they followed up on this. Games like this, Albino Lullaby, Close Your Eyes...pure gold imo
this was EXCELLENT. Thank you, Mr. Wolfe, I always enjoy your content, for numerous reasons. I would love to watch more games like this, and always appreciate when you give us names of other titles for us to lookup next.
I really enjoyed this game/playthrough! Keep it up, John. I'm busy with school so I cant always watch every video you put out, but I always enjoy them when I get the chance!
That was really cool. If you're experiencing a temporary dearth of horror games, there's a really cool one on Indie DB / Game Jolt called I Remember This Dream. It's pretty short and straightforward but the atmosphere is fantastic.
I showed my dad this video and he was totally freaked out because he has night terror dreams that are exactly like this game he said, the atmosphere, the characters and looking for objects is the same thing as his dreams, super freaky!
Not gonna lie it was refreshing to see you actually get scared at some points also you said it was gonna be dry for the next two weeks maybe you could play resident evil code Veronica x as a Playthru on your channel
Dave Eats I remember people wanting him to play some older Silent Hill game for a while now, he could play that too! I think the title started with A, not sure how it's called though.
There's a mobile (iPhone at least) game called YEAR WALK that this reminds me of a lot. It's really excellent, and there's a free companion app for it that has sort of fable-book entries for the mythological entities that appear. Well well well worth checking out.
The art style and surreal horror reminds me of Suda's Killer 7, especially the crawler creature from underneath the table. This is quite well done, especially since it doesn't follow the typical formula of horror games in terms of predictability; you don't know what to expect from this game, and yet it still manages to get under your skin and give you a nasty jump every now and then.
Hello John, I really enjoy your videos and how you make your playthroughs... but what makes me more happy are your PUNS... for real :P. Greetings from Mexico.
I agree that this game had a great look and atmosphere! Really hope other developers will take your suggestions because I'd love to see more like this.
wow as a game designer myself (aspiring for the horror genre too) i am REALLY impressed with this game. The production is a little unpolished, but man this game is so immersive and cool that it doesn't even matter. Very inspiring stuff.
This was really cool. I completely agree with what you said at the end. This game sticks out and is much more memorable than the average indie horror game. I know the surreal style isn't for everyone, and I feel like if you're creative enough as a game designer, you can make something unique without heavy stylization, but it was certainly a refreshing change of pace to me.
You know? This game is highly inspired by alice in wonderland, and that "tea party" was what made me love this game, cuz it's not making ALW more scary that make it a perfect twisted version, but making it more senseless with a little bit of dark it sure does
Loved the game, but they really needed to explain the shell game - if you're going to invert a very common mechanic, you have to make that clear to the player. Just having a "monster" play the first round instead of the player would have been enough I think, seeing that picking the red pill leads to death should make it clear without needing an in-depth explanation of any kind.
Speaking of Jehovah Witnesses, for someone who lives right down the street from my community's local JW building I run into surprisingly little witnesses
"Well" done! This looks really awesome, to the point that if there's a full release, I'll probably get it despite my completely awful nerves for horror games. XD It makes me think of Spirited Away+Alice in Wonderland, both of which are fantastic things to be compared to IMO. ...I was kinda surprised the cat didn't ask for a contract, given how much the darn thing reminded me of Kyuubey. =P Nah, but really, great game, glad you showed it off!
I really like this game.i hope there's more.was hoping it was longer than it was🙁.i think you are so funny John you always make me laugh love watching your videos😁
Hi John, if you're talking about Which by Mike Inel, he actually released another game in December called Arson. I think it might still be early access though.
The title may well be a re-spelled "Fairy Walk." The creatures do fit the creepy, mesmerizing things from real life reports (I mean, the reports are real, not necessarily the creatures.) They even have the food offerings, which is the cliche thing that's said to happen.
This is one of the few unique horror games that gives the real horror fun experience of going through a very scary adventure to survive and find the mystery and uncover the secrets of the and challenging the scary terrifying creatures and feel the real meaning of a horror game not just collecting keys and listening to a creepy music and solving boring puzzles with most dumbest ways ever and a 2 or even 1 cheap scare at the end this game have a great art style the and good scares and very awesome atmosphere and it very mysterious it kept always wondering what gonna happen next and it so existing
What a boon to watch. Just got home from work. I'm hungry, my feet ache, and I'm ugly. But this makes it all ok.
literally me... just got home from an overnight lol
Sherwin Clavito That’s not attention seeking... maybe they just feel ugly, and if so, you are not ugly, please don’t say that about yourself !
@Grace Coleman I just was watching John play a game called Courage, in an old video-& I remember seeing a comment of yours on there. Eversion (excellent 2D platformer that starts out as cute and becomes VERY horror-esque)
Harvester (old point-n-click in a strange 1950's town)
Knock-Knock (Icepick Lodge's game [they made Pathologic], unique 2D game about playing hide-and-seek while going mad)
Pathologic (There's an HD remake that'd last you a long time, but read a guide; it's creepy, but very survival-focused)
Reveal the Deep (2D underwater game, go through a wrecked boat and avoid monsters, has a very Lovecraftian vibe)
Scratches (old victorian point-and-click horror game, honestly surprised you haven't done this one yet)
Year Walk (very unique point-and-click pseudo-horror)
Hope this helps! I only recently found your channel and my wife and I love it!
Jank Plays he did play year walk, but I really hope to see him play your other suggestions!
Sadly Scratches is no longer available on Steam. Don't know why they took it down. Such a good game.
It's not on Steam but I have seen a DVD that had it on it on Amazon with two other adventure point and click games, so that might be an option.
_oh god harvester_
*flashback to pushing in baby's eyes*
Oh yes I remember Eversion, if you read this John, I suggest you to play it, it's really interesting and also challenging
just a note: the cat noises really freaked out my actual cats. otherwise, this was a really cool little game, loved the russian roulette-type flower gun sequence and all the unique, beautiful character designs
Dude under the table scared the shit out of you lmfao I was dying
PRiiMO VALENTiiNO wasnt it the chair you were sitting on, which transformed and scuttled under. it did make me jump too lol
Paul Gascoigne Was it? I didn't notice that.
I was eating cereal while John got scared, and stabbed my gums with my fingernail and a honeycomb
Roflmao I laughed so hard that that shit I almost stabbed my own fucking gums!
I guess you could call that bucket creature a "Well-being"?
I'll see myself out.
Im new to this channel and John seems like a pretty chill guy
welcome to the family son!:p
Kali Takumi welcome to the Wolfe pack! :D
Rapido Jade OMG glad I wasn't the only one who thought of that line xD
Great channel -most bingable game TH-camr ever
@@rookymusic6310 Three years strong and I don't regret a single day of it.
I also don't remember commenting this lol. I must have been impressed
And then, after countless asset swaps and copycats, an indie horror game with some kind of aesthetic pops up and feels like a breath of fresh air in a barn full of farts.
dang I really enjoy these mysterious sort of games, where you are not sure what's happening but it's extremely interesting.
Yeah i cannot wait until the next one comes out.
I totally agree.
>who pissed in their Cheerios?
I honestly find it funny in an ironic sort of way when you make a joke and then immediately explain you made a joke and why. It gets me every time. And I say this in the most complimentary way possible!
"I'm not crazy, I promise. I just want your eyeballs." that'll be my new motto. lol
Me too.
Lavender PinkRose
and here I thought I was the only one.
This was fantastic. It just plunges you face first into this world where the rules are unclear but simple, and you're never quite sure when you're safe. "there's a rat bowing to the fence post. he worships the fence. what a stupid rat" ): stop bullying the rat
When the cat meowed, my cat looked around to see where it was coming from
That cat thing reminds me of Kyubey (the cat) from Madoka Magica for some reason
Oh yeah! I knew it seemed familiar
The artstyle reminds me of Limbo. This looks like a 3D Limbo, and I like that.
The only TH-camr I can watch without getting annoyed during commentaries!

That segment is so dope, I adore how trippy and bonkers it is. All that stuff happens... Then you turn around and nothing is like it was before, and what is there is just ridiculously inexplicable. Truly dream-like.

Fine, the rat can be a Fencist if it wants to
John Wolfe Hey John, It's Miguel!
I have been a sub for almost two years now, subbed around when Granny male remake AKA Grandpa video was launched, or at least thats as far as I remember. So hyped for outlast 2
I don't care if even pewdiepie plays it first i shall wait for how ever long it takes
for John to play it
I'm gonna watch John's play through after I complete the game myself
Definitely will pick John's playthrough. He's not loud, he's subtle, calm and have quick witted commentary.
Exactly
alright then
Qwasz Abwisfd Wow, I didn't see that coming.
This was my favorite thing you've played in a long time holy crap. I love that it was so random and unique. Sincerely hope there's going to be a full release eventually.
Great atmosphere, the table scene reminded me of Alice in Wonderland.
I think it's pronounced "Far I Walk".
dude I just realized, now I will be sad if its not this
I would pronounce "Far E Walk", too. blame them for inventing the new word, like that "NOMED" game.
At least NOMED is DEMON backwards.
I watch everything you upload . Your commentary and perspective is always entertaining , honestly I would watch you play a potato simulator !
That was really cool! I hope more is coming - I would love to see a full game. Might try to make a stuffed version of that cat . . . loved the design.
I LOVE these abstract/surreal horror games. I wish it was longer. I need to see if they followed up on this. Games like this, Albino Lullaby, Close Your Eyes...pure gold imo

well well well water we have here
John: "... and I'm scared of a rat"
me: is watching this with a pet rat curled up in my sweater eating baby puffs
Graysen eeeeeecute
the sweetest and smartest animal friends. so tiny though they make you worry
Yes! The tiniest. Their hands barely exist they're so small.
i have a pet rat too!!
OMG I want to see pics
This was great.
That was actually incredibly sad. The cat was tied up inside the shed an as soon as you rescue it, it's murdered :/
@15:05 all I could think was "do you want to make a contract?"
He looks way too similar to kyuubei lmao
Loved this creepy little game! Would like you to play more of it and solve all the puzzles. Funny watching you watch the cups get moved around.
15:51 Top commentary. Reason I watch your videos John. XD
That was really cool.
If you're experiencing a temporary dearth of horror games, there's a really cool one on Indie DB / Game Jolt called I Remember This Dream. It's pretty short and straightforward but the atmosphere is fantastic.
Love you Harshly! Seeing your videos make me day better!
When you said, "It reminded me a lot of, and this goes way back..." I already knew what game you were going to mention, I loved that one!
I showed my dad this video and he was totally freaked out because he has night terror dreams that are exactly like this game he said, the atmosphere, the characters and looking for objects is the same thing as his dreams, super freaky!
Awesome aesthetics! Wanna see more when it gets its full release!
12:47 I thought I will sh*t myself, but after watching it few times again and see how you get scared made my day again. xD
wow i love the absurdity of this and even when you got shocked/scared i started laughing at the absurdity
Pure Cringe
You mean alchemilla? the HL2 mod?
Pepper Millers yup
Yeah, it's pretty good. But it has one BIG but subjective flaw you can't ignore.
There's a mobile (iPhone at least) game called YEAR WALK that this reminds me of a lot. It's really excellent, and there's a free companion app for it that has sort of fable-book entries for the mythological entities that appear. Well well well worth checking out.
John's already played Year Walk I believe.
Omf the art style this game has is amazing
Genuinely happy you found a game you enjoy! It's been a while. Can't wait for your Outlast 2 play through. Thanks for the quality content, as always.
John, you're the best! I'm pretty stoked to see your Outlast 2 videos!! Keep up the epic work!
Eye roll at 15:50... but I secretly love it.
It's heartbreaking that this game never got finished years later. It has a lot of potential and charm.
I remember which! Loved that game aswell.
ive reached super fan status
"Who pissed in their Cheerios?" is the greatest expression ever.
The jumpscares in this game really got me. Considering Im not a fan of Jumpscares, they where good.
every jumpscare got me good..
This reminds me of Yearwalk, and not just because of the name.
Joseph Wise it's like a 3D yearwalk
I laughed too much at 'well, well, well . . .'
I really enjoyed this. Hopefully more will come out!
i have never seen John so frightened at 12:49 before 😐
This was really cool.
The prelude just got released if you're still interested in playing more.
Have you come to steal my eyes!?" - Stanford Pines.
10/10 this game looked amazing!!!!! Pls play more if/when more comes out!!!!!
Early, awesome! Hey John, have a great weekend!
I loved this game. In a year with so many big games coming out this is a great reminder that the little guys can be amazing too.
You know? This game is highly inspired by alice in wonderland, and that "tea party" was what made me love this game, cuz it's not making ALW more scary that make it a perfect twisted version, but making it more senseless with a little bit of dark it sure does
I hope they make a full game this game rocked!
If you go to the itch.io link it says "The game will be updated and will add more quests."
I got Limbo vibes from this, and that's a good thing
John, remember Year Walk?
I believe this is a spiritual successor of a sort.
Also, the word Fari is a Latin term for Creation (simple term, "to make")
I think you're thinking of facere, dude.
The hell is Facere?
Latin for to make
Varler yea definitely a dark Alice in Wonderland vibe in there ! With the talking cat and the teatime thing !
Hey John, you're looking really bright today, ol' chap!
I really liked this, the jump scares actually got me lol
Is it weird that everytime he says, "Hi guys" I say "Hey John"
This was great, very creepy game. Hope there will be more one day!
this looks REALLY cool
I really like this game.i hope there's more.was hoping it was longer than it was🙁.i think you are so funny John you always make me laugh love watching your videos😁
"thank you...well creature..." lol
Hi John, if you're talking about Which by Mike Inel, he actually released another game in December called Arson. I think it might still be early access though.
I think "Fairy Walk" is a good pronunciation of the title, given the eerie setting and odd characters/creatures
The title may well be a re-spelled "Fairy Walk." The creatures do fit the creepy, mesmerizing things from real life reports (I mean, the reports are real, not necessarily the creatures.) They even have the food offerings, which is the cliche thing that's said to happen.
That crap under the table actually freaked me out.
I hope there's gonna be more to this game cause it's super interesting
This is one of the few unique horror games that gives the real horror fun experience of going through a very scary adventure to survive and find the mystery and uncover the secrets of the and challenging the scary terrifying creatures and feel the real meaning of a horror game not just collecting keys and listening to a creepy music and solving boring puzzles with most dumbest ways ever and a 2 or even 1 cheap scare at the end this game have a great art style the and good scares and very awesome atmosphere and it very mysterious it kept always wondering what gonna happen next and it so existing
This game is most like one of these artistic game, has more meanings inside it than the horor itself.
Nice to see you haven't lost your critical point of view on these games.
Super fucking cool game. I'd love to see more even. Thanks for playing. :-)
"I'm not the Jehovah's Witnesses, I swear."
He's right at that. lol
I think u should play more of this asap!
I agree that this game was great! Great style, atmosphere, and overall pretty enjoyable. I'd be eager to see more from them!
You are awesomeJohn
the atmosphere reminds me a lot of year walk
