The focus hunting in galaxy a51 when shooting video is still there.. that's really kind annoying.. samsung need to fix that issue
Yeah, unfortunately the A51 didn’t receive the video upgrades a lot of us had hoped for. The A71 on the other hand is significantly better 👀

I love my A50, yeah the newer models have better picture quality, but premium pictures come with premium price.
Currently in Bulgaria, the A51 is almost twice the price of the A50, it's at least 150USD more expensive.
Also I've been using it for the past 11 months and never have I ever once gotten an issue with it.
If you own an older phone, upgrade to the A51, but if you have last year's budget Samsung phone, aka A50, it's not worth the upgrade. Even the specs are just way too similar..
That's true. I have J2, plan on buying A51 this year. Or should I wait for A51S.

I'm with Total Wireless and I also have the Galaxy A50 got it last month (April 2020) and It has Android 10 on it. And wow I agree i absolutely love my A50. The 4GB of ram and the 2.3GHZ octa core processor work absolutely amazing. Not one problem so far. And despite what the comparisons show I LOVE the 25MP cameras on the front and back. And when I use the Open Camera App i can access the processor and record using 4K. The phone doesnt have 4K video recording installed into the camera app but the processor is capable of it. And wow 4K looks awesome. I couldn't be happier with my A50. The A51 doesn't impress me all that much since the specs are only SLIGHTLY better and slightly better doesn't win my wallet over. Happy with what I have. Best $300 i ever spent. And I'm coming from a long line of phones that were always 16GB of memory and 2GB of ram to 64GB of memory and 4GB of RAM. So a very nice upgrade for sure. Happy you're enjoying your A50 so much.

Best Samsung A series comparation...i think it is noticaable that overall A51 is a little better thet A50s and A50s a little better then A50...but iupgrade is not needed at all from one model to another!

For me, today June 13, 2020, the A51 is double the price of the A50 from my provider. They are clearing out the A50.
I can't justify paying double for the minor camera difference.
My wife broke the screen on her A8. The A50 is about the same price as a new screen for the A8 and a big jump in camera quality.

I just got the A50... I'm a little behind as I can see. But it's a great phone! Its needs a lot of lot to capture a good image though. If the light isn't good, the image will look like painting sorta

Is your A50S running on android 10? The phone has recently been upgraded to android 10 with one ui 2.0. Can you please update your A50S to check if there has been any signioficant changes in image quality as far as selfies are concerned and how it stacks up against A51 after the latest android update.

Samsung A51 has a good benchmark score. Overall I love the phone. But I spent more than 20k for this phone and I am really disappointed to say that I didn't get the premium feel from this phone. That's may be because this phone has a plastic back. I spent 700rs more on gadgetshieldz firefly skin. I hope that works.

A50 still runs on Android 9 . Let Android 10 come , you test it and post the results . Moreover A50 has a F/1.7 which gives it more focus .
I have the Galaxy A50 with Total Wireless and I got mine April 2020 and I have Android 10 so im a bit fortunate i guess. And I agree the A50's cameras do have a F1.7 aperture and the A51 I believe is F2.0 for its cameras. I love my A50 and to me the A51 is barely an upgrade. Besides the cameras and the screen size and SLIGHT bump in the processor everything else (ram. 2.3GHZ processor the amount of storage and the battery are all the same. Not worth it to go with the A51.
Do same test when A50 get Android 10.

Yes a50 is not much better for the camera
A50 camera is rubbish. Had issues with colour and exposure when I moved from s8 to a50. The 3 cameras didn't come close to the one on the s8. After a while I just stop taking pics with my A50
david james A50 cameras is similar to S8 one with latest updates (Remember both shoot in 12MP with default camera)

Its samsung making great phones with features for everyone to afford, so they can cater to more than just their flagship customers . That way they reach a more variety of people who may not be able to afford a flagship device but still able to get great cameras and features on midrange, unlike apple who even there "lower spec" phones are priced high.
